A long time ago, I had this very strange dream that involved being chased by an angry Sephiroth and running into a frozen cave in attempts to escape (don't ask me where the logic in that was). To be brief, Sephiroth was quickly gaining on me and had came in close enough range to strike me down with his sword. Suddenly I heard a voice screaming for me to get down, in which I accidentally slipped, fell, and skidded out the way. This, in turn, caused Sephiroth to miss and fall on his face. When I woke up, I was able to identify the voice as Vash the Stampede and thought nothing else of it.

But just last night, I had a dream in which a group of people and I were trying to gather supplies from a dangerous area. Just as we were about to leave, I noticed something with Sonic and L Lawliet on the labels. Despite the fact that the enemies that had all intention on killing me and the group were closing in, I stopped to pick up some of the packages. However while this was going on, the transparent form of a man standing behind me called me by my name and kept urging me to forget what I was collecting and leave. I told the apparition that I was going and escaped capture in the nick of time... But now that I think about it, I have never heard that voice nor seen the apparition before despite sounding on friendly terms with him.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Vash? That is awesome.

I don't find the whole "unknown but friendly entity" thing all that odd, though. We all frequently encounter beings in dreams, be they human or otherwise, and many of those may indeed be on good terms with us, although we have never seen them before. It is quite an interesting experience, though.

The only personal instance of this phenomenon that I can remember happened about two years ago... I had just escaped a sort of demi-armageddon, and suddenly found myself in a dark, silent restaurant of sorts in front of a circular mirror. I was quite shaken by what had just happened, but that quickly turned to shock as my reflection started talking to me. However, the reflected face was not my own, and I had never seen it before... nor had I ever heard her voice anywhere in the Waking. Regardless, she was apparently on close terms with me, just as the invisible man in your own dream was.

What I find highly interesting, though, is the fact that your entity told you to "forget what you were collecting and leave"... well, the girl in the mirror told me that "if you're lost and scared, you can just wake up, you know. This is a dream after all." Odd, huh? Seems these mysterious faces have some darn good advice to give.

perhaps NiGHTS (if you believe of course) his/her voice might be tailored to a persons subconscious like his gender... just a thought. No bashing, please.

I don't know if this counts as a weird dreams friendly terms thing but I had a weird scenerio with an old lady in my dreams. It was 2 xmas's ago, about 2 weeks from the day my neighbors mom died. In the dream, I was in the backyard sitting on the swing in the backyard near the bird feeders. Even though it was winter, it was spring or something in my dream. I felt the swing move a bit and when I looked, there was an old lady with curly white/grey hair in a nice dress sitting next to me. She had a plate with Sandwiches on it and she offered me some, so I took one. That's all I remember of the dream itself, but the next day my mom told me I was walking AND talking in my sleep the previouse night.
She said That I went out and stared at the xmas tree and said that Mr. Rob (Neighbor's adult son) and someone else was outside burrying Miss Vonnie's (Neighbor) mom. She also said that I said that I was having a picnic with miss vonnies mom in the back yard and that she gave me peanut butter and butter sandwiches and that Miss Vonnies mom wanted her to stop crying.
Sure enough, Miss Vonnie WAS crying that night because it was her first xmas without her mom. She used to pack Lunches for her grandkids that were peanut butter and Butter sandwiches too.
What gave me the willies the most was that I (for some reason) knew stuff that I shouldn't know, like that she was cremated.... that her ashes weren't in an urn, they were in a box, and that her wedding ring is cept with her husbands in a little purplr velvet box in miss vonnies side table drawer.

How, that was alot to type. The fact that I knew soo much makes it sound like I'm lying doesn't it? But I swear it's 100% truthful. Well, it all started from a dream, but I don't know if it goes off topic. Oh well.

--> We're not doubting you K.C., you probably have a good dream recall.

--> Saifer: That would be cool if that was NiGHTS in that dream (yes I believe that he could exist).

--> Spinningcannon: The similarities within the mysterious entities' words does seem interesting! Have you ever tried to talk to your entity or have you seen her again?

I'm a bit confused here. What's the difference between a Maren, Muse, or Entity?

Hm. Well, from my own opinion and experience, my definitions for the three are as follows:

A Maren (Nightmaren) is, as we all know, a dream/nightmare being usually created by Wizeman. You know, like NiGHTS and Reala? Personally I think Maren are 'personified' dream elements, but as I said, thats my own theory. Even so, they're still the lovely creatures we know from NiD.

A Muse is a being that exists as an inspiration and source of creativity for a certain person. The term originates from the ancient Greek "muses", nine feminine beings that supposedly embodied the various arts, but has since grown to mean "an inspiration" of any sort in modern English.
Here in the NiGHTS community (and outside, too!), many of us use the term 'muse' to specify our own personal dream being with such attributes. It's not uncommon to have multiple muses, either.
My main muse is a Nightmaren (Selph), but it's not mandatory that a muse would be that species, or any species at all, for that matter.

An Entity is really just an all-encompassing term for a self-aware and intelligent being, whether from dreams or otherwise. Usually the word 'entity' brings to mind the image of a surreal, almost divine form, but as in the case of Muses, this is not a default nor a mandatory form. We can freely call any sort of dream being an entity.

Hope that helped somewhat!

I had this one nightmare where a former schoolmate summoned up some zombies to maul the entire school. I ran into a bathroom and blocked the door with a plunger. All of a sudden, someone starts banging on the door and I hear a voice say "C'mon, don'tcha want a piece of Sonic?" Yep, Sonic the Hedgehog. Scared the mess out of me, especially since Sonic was carrying a butcher knife while spin - dashing and nearly chopped me in half. O_O After I convinced Sonic not to kill me, We discussed a plan involving him carrying me on his back and running to the nearest army base to get the army to stop the zombies and my schoolmate.

Hey, long time no see...

Just this morning, I had another dream where I was met by another person without a physical form. However, this encounter was no where near as friendly or familiar as the one I had with the transparent man. In the dream, I was lying in my bed trying to fall asleep (exciting huh?). After tossing around for a good 10 minutes, I finally was able to nod off... only to be awakened by some maniacal laughter. My eyes popped open as I tried to figure out what was going on, but instead I had my head slammed into the wall. Then something grabbed me by my foot (but I could see that there was nothing there) and tried pulling me off of my bed onto the floor (I sleep on the top bunk and my floor was a cluttered death trap so I wasn't trying to let that happen). Then after all of that drama, this ghostly person found it amusing to spin me like a top in mid air. Luckily I woke up feeling ridiculously dizzy with a headache... only to find out that I've only been asleep for 20-30 minutes.

Strangely enough, I couldn't see this entity at all but only could hear that crazed laughing, unlike the transparent man from the previous one.
Has anyone else ever been visited by an unknown, but very unfriendly entity?

Has anyone else ever been visited by an unknown, but very unfriendly entity?

There were some red motorcycle-like creatures running around. Only us kids could see them. I could hear them, too. Their engines revving up, zooming past me by inches, and fading away only to draw near again. Ugh, I hate loud noises! I finally convinced Dad with my serious tone that we had to leave now. Our family and friends gathered piled into the mini-van. I was in the trunk with my brother because there wasn't enough space. We're driving along, and I hear those engines again, approaching from the left and right. Then suddenly it's like all heck breaks loose. There's the sound of an explosion right around us, shaking like an earthquake, and flashing red, orange, and yellow lights outside the van. I scream (and I'm the only one screaming) even though I know it's a dream, because it's all freaking out and I have absolutely no control since I don't even know what's going on. I can faintly hearing the evil motorcycle things laughing. I wake up shaking.

-Whistles- This brings back memories... It's been some time since I have had one, but yes.. I would have very... very horror type dreams where such entities would perform very rated R and above tasks to other people or myself (to spare such details ^^; I do not feeling like going into details here in the threads, thanks.)

Though through dream interpretations, I believe it was more a situational thing than being encountered... so yes and no in it's own way to your question. As many said before me, it's a possibility you are being visited in your dreams, but it also possible it is something you want to happen - it you have latent control. Who's to say what the subconscious wants us to know or do?

Has anyone else ever been visited by an unknown, but very unfriendly entity?

Well, my sister's friend did... She lived in this house, and whenever she went to sleep at night, she'd have a horrible nightmare in which there were spiders creeping all over her bed up to her, and a ghostly-looking man was looming over on the other side of the bed. She had this nightmare ALL THE TIME until she convinced her parents to move out of the house. I'd be freaked out, too.
BUT I don't think I've been visited by an unfriendly (and unknown) entity. I don't think I'm the kind of person who would attract spirits/entities/demons or any of that sort. I have a friend who does, but that's another story for another time.

Lately my muse has been coming back in my dreams, especially after gone missing for almost 4 years. His name is Dark Water, though I didn't name him. Anyways, one night when I was asleep, I was sitting on my bed talking with him, and I asked him why he was gone for so long. He went into a long winded explanation, all in the while speaking English and in a voice that was mine when I was first going through puberty. God was it annoying. Anyways, he was telling me the reason he vanished was due to he was on a journey, one that spanned several different galaxies, and somehow I was connected to it. But though I was dreaming, my mom watched me "sleep" and she said I was sitting on my bed, talking in a language she did not understand, and for a moment, she saw a figure sitting next to me as well, speaking the same language.

Sorry if I got off topic.

Hmm... I'll have to think. Lemme check (flips through miniscule dream diary)
I'm not sure if I've got something as such that comes to me, like some sort of being. Rather, I think I take on the form of that being myself, like we're one in the same. I say this because I remember (vaguely) a winged figure. Also, whenever my dreams are in first person, I have the ability to fly, although my takeoffs suck. I think part of me bogs down this entity (If we do, indeed, become one in the same) and thus strains flight.
But that's just speculation. I've only seen this being once, but I've gone flying loads of times, and have only seen fleeting images of my wings.
