That would be Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) from Home Alone.I'll start with the most obvious: "Hello?....hellooooooo.."

Possibly supposed to represent some kid getting bullied and the bullies toke his toy away and are trying to make him reach for it or something

Can anyone compile some sort of recorded example for me? I don't have Home Alone on video and I've not seen it since it came out XD

I'm most absolutely certain it's from Home Alone.

About the Home Alone thing-
The part in the song where the kid says "mom" and the "rawr" sounds are also from the movie.
whoever made that song was a big fan of Home Alone. lol
I have the movie, so I'll look through it some more and see if I can make out any more sounds.
*EDIT*
The part in the song that says "hey, gimme gimme. RAWR!" is also in the movie.
Also when the kids all say "yaaay" is in the movie.
so I'm just guessing that every other part in the song is from the movie. But I'm stilling watching.
If I can find a way to download the movie, I can put the clips on youtube.

It's just like the rest of NiD- open for interpretation.Mmm..... Well now that it's apparently all from "Home alone" I guess everything basically gotten out of that... But before people wrote that the line was "hello? Hellooo?" It sounded like a whole scene was playing out. It sounded like the kids were having fun, and then got disappointed because their mom's not letting them do something. Instead of "Hello" I thought it sounded like "Well, Alright..." Like she's giving into them. 8P K. I'm done. But just listen to the song and try to hear that instead.
Is it even legal for Sega to use sound clips from Home Alone?

Is it even legal for Sega to use sound clips from Home Alone?
haha, I've never even thought of that. I'm guessing it pretty much is illegal, unless they got permission to use the clips.
I doubt they got permission though, seeing as SEGA most likely didn't think anyone would figure out where the clips came from.
who know for sure, unless someone emails SEGA. haha
~edit~
well, the same clips are used for the JoD Gate of Your Dreams. so maybe they did get the okay to use it?

But sampling is generally considered acceptable - the context is changed so much and so little is generally taken that the copyright is generally not considered to have been infringed. (Although there are some large companies attempting to change that.)

"Mom?"
*kids cheer "yeah"* "Whoo!" ("Get in here"?)
"Come on."
"Hello? Hel-lo-oo?"
(Kids) "Alright!" (girl?) "Get in here." (Kid in BG) "This place is full." (girl?) "Get out sucker."
"Dad."
"Mom?"
"Sweet dreams."
"Good night dear." or "Get out of here." (Unsure which)
"Sweet..."
"Hey gimme gimme." "Roar!"
"Mom?"
"We left him in the HOUSE alone."
("My...sir knight"? Rice tonight? It's at 0:37 - 0:40.)
"Kay."
(Loops)
Also, just after "sucker" it sounds like a part in HA when the kid is wishing for his family for Christmas. Or that could just be me.
---
In the JoD version I can here some differences like around 19 seconds there's a deep voice... Wasn't that the boiler in the basement? I remember the kid was afraid of something down there...
Sorry for the Wall O' Text . >>;
Edit: XP Dang man. Almost half an hour listening and typing what I thought to have heard.

Maybe Sega just really likes Home Alone and freakish kiddie rides?

And that definitely doesn't surprise me about the level loading screen's music being in any hypnosis based video XD Does make me wonder though what other NiGHTS music might have been borrowed from other sources now.

I was surprised that others had discovered it as well to be honest. You have to be a bit of a movie buff to be able to pick up on sounds like that...

Woooooow, I had no idea about the Home Alone sample. I watched the movie for the first time in years and it blew me away!
I made a quick video showing two of the samples.
Thanks for this.
This has blown my mind. I've seen Home Alone plenty of times but never noticed that.
It's amazing use of a sample, they make something so mundane sound really mysterious and ethereal.
