Okay, so this one is technically for people who are in/have been in your school's band program(s). Have you EVER played a song before and realized it sounded NiGHTS-ish? In my schools books, the happens about evr week at least once. Let's see, there's:

1. "Sea Chanty"
2. "Two Canadian Sketches"
3. "The Tempest"
and several others I have a hard time remembering...-.;

Anyways, if you have any weird happenings as far as music goes, feel free to post.

Actually, on the days I forget my insterment, I close my Eyes and see NiGHTS flying in time with the music. Espessialy in the 2nd movement of Cajin Folk Songs.

Listen to the song "Nimrod" by Edward Elgar. My school's band is playing this song. It is absolutely beautiful! It's so graceful, that's why it reminds me of NiGHTS. I always try to play my smoothest while we're practicing because I want the song to sound beautiful.

I also petitioned to play "Dreams Dreams", but no one seemed to want to play. It would probably be difficult anyways, the band only has eleven members - and that's very big for my school. One quick question for Realarox - does your school's band use Essential Elements music books?

I'm trying to get my school to play either Dreams Dreams or FFVII's One-Winged Angel. We've got enough players in the band, but I'm not exactly what you'd call "popular" so no one really listens to me.

James Swearinger (Spelling??) Centuria - TOTALLY has a NiGHTS theme melody. I was the uber l33t lead piccolo (the pic lead the band) and flute with solo. if THIS isn't NiGHTS like i'll eat a cute little puppy. Has the trilling intro, fast paced part, slow melodic section, return to main theme and quick ending. Oh yeah, i was the star on piccolo :) good old days. We rocked that song in our competitions.

BTW i taught the tempest when i was in charge of 2 music classes, they rocked. I was sweating after we played cuz i was conducting like mad speed and cuing people.

:) Yes. Yes we do. It's funny-- every time my conductor says "Tempe--" EVERYBODY screams in excitement. XD Priceless. I've nver tried petitioning "Dreams Dreams"....I think we have enough people...it's easily over 26 members. :D I should try!

My school band is easily over 150 people, maybe more if you count the percussion section as real instruments.

Well, my school easily has over 5000 students, and the band is made up of only the biggest music geeks.

We're not what you would call "music geeks" but "music fanatics". ^_^ Seriously, some of the "popular" mischief-making boys and popular girls are in the band. (flutes, clarinets and trombones mostly) My poor little Alto Sax section. ;-; There's only four of us. I only have the first three notes of "Dreams, Dreams" figured out-- but my instructors said they might help with the rest. :D If not I'll just ask SEGA directly. Which could easily take all summer... But it'll be worth it, I'm sure.

~Quick question for DAiLiGHT, what section are you in?? :)

LOL I wouldent even TRY to petition DREAMS DREAMS in my school. I'm Known for being the video game freak in my school *sweatdrops*
we also use the essential elements books
All the populars in our band are in the flutes and trumpets. All my band friends are Clairinets, like me.

I'm only known as the video game weirdie in my GRADE, so I sopose I lucked out there...^^;;

If any of you play an alto sax and need the first three notes to figure out "D,D" completely, they're:
A, B, high D with octave key. :)

Oh. :D Well, that may be the reason your band is larger than our's. We don't have the oboes, french horns, etc. in our band until next year. As of now we only have Alto Saxophones, Clarinets, Flutes, Trumpets, Trombones, Baritones, Tubas and percussion. Still, if your school is over 5000 than that's also a reason. My school is only a 2-A school. But I looooove it, though. :P

Now that I think about it, my school's band might not be able to play Dreams Dreams. We have one flute (me) two alto saxophones, one tuba (in the ENTIRE 250 + school), one baritone, one trombone, one french horn, and three clarinets. Half of them were forced into band by their parents, so they don't want to play, and the rest have only been playing for one or two years.

It's sad. :D

Yeah, we've got a whole high school orchestra. We've got instruments that we don't even have names for. One kid once brought in an instrument he invented himself. It looked like a mutated flute with a demented French horn bit on the end. It sounded like a cross between a trumpet and a dying goat.

Or a dying goat playing a trumpet.

My school is so large, it has seven buildings, multiple overpasses, and has to have cafeterias in each main building. It has the Red building, the Green building, the Yellow building, the Azure building, the Core building, the Gym, and the Fine And Applied Arts building. The Red, Green, Yellow, and Azure have cafeterias.

We also have two indoor swimming pools, one outdoor swimming pool, a hockey rink, two basketball courts, three tennis courts, a soccer field, a football stadium and a baseball stadium.

And yet only one nurses office..... XD

Oh~ I remembered another one. 4: "All Through The Night" It's perfect for an Alto Sax, because it really showcases all the notes on a sax, if not most of them.

So I'm the only one who can type at normal speed on a Wii?

Anyway, like I said, I'm trying to get the band to play Dreams Dreams, but the teacher is an obsinate old fogy and has that Boss Nass voice. You know, where at the end of half his words, he shakes his head violently and goes "BUBUBUBUBUBUBUBUUB" like Boss Nass from Star Wars?

Please tell me what the notes are! I can't figure it out! As for actually playing "Dreams Dreams" in band, I've thought about it. My director would probably go with it with a little convincing (I mean, he had us play the Halo theme to entertain the students), that is, if it's not booted out by the other numerous pieces he wants to play. The problem would be finding the music and obtaining the rights to use it. We could play it: ~ 7 flutes, 1 piccolo, 4 french horns, ~ 12 clarinets, 2 trumpets (meh, need more), 3 trombones, ~ 5 saxes, 2 oboes, 2 bass clarinets, 1 contrabass clarinet, 2 baritones, 1 tuba, and ~ 5 percussion (who love to get loud). We could also grab a few kids from guitar class & sit someone on the electric keyboard and/or piano. It could work. I think I'll suggest it.

There was one song we played this year that reminded me of NiGHTS called Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song. It doesn't sound like most of the game's tunes, but flutes are a main feature. It sounds very flowy, beautiful, and sad. It's about a Japanese woman who married an American and moved to the U.S., leaving behind her homeland which causes spells of homesickness. Kinda reminded me of how NiGHTS left Nightmare and made me wonder if he ever misses his old home.

"Moonlight dance" from Nightwish reminds me of somewhat to Tragic revenge, you know its like at times its hard core and then theres soft music. Such as the electric guitar reminds me of Reala while the flute or violin reminds me of NiGHTS.

Also the song, "Rush" Be ally and A.J, the way they describe it - "into your mind, into your soul..." "pulling your feet right off the ground, you cant beilive its happening now."
Reminds me of Dualizing process

Come to think of it, yeah, that does kind of ring a bell! Another one that always makes me think of NiGHTS, (what doesn't?) is a Neverending Dream by CASCADA. It fits NiGHTS so well!
