I found inside a well worn but playable copy of Christmas NiGHTS sampler. Pinch me Im goddamn dreaming here. Dear God I forgot how fun the original was and Im going to buy an analog controller and the game now. BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER

Nice! Good luck with the analog controller. I still have to use the d-pad, myself. Also, don't forget to put in a fresh battery!

yeah I discovered the battery thing already.,
I cannot BELIEVE this console had a actual copy of Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams just sitting in it. This is like the holy grail 2 in one and I got it all for $40. Christmas niGHTS is so badass. I only ever got to see the original game.
PINCH ME I AM DREAMING!!!!!!!!!

Hooray! The Sega Saturn has some great games.
I recommend investing in an "Action Replay 4 in 1 Plus" cartridge. It is good for keeping backups and also lets you play import games. For some reason I think importing Saturn games is more fun than importing games from other countries and this can be a good hobby!

also, the graphics held up far better than I expected. It looks very good even now. Its obviously old tech and similar to Need for Speed 2 level of graphics, but for 1997, that was fantastic. This is just a joyous day/night for me. Absolute Dream come true. In quite the literal sense.

 • Interests:I am an avid gamer but also enjoy all kinds of other hobbies such as going out to museums, events and such. As it is currently Winter it means hibernating in house rather than going out a lot.

I should also mention that growing up playing on SEGa systems it is now my favorite game company in the whole world. The games developed by it always inspire me a lot and remind me of all those games many years ago such as Nights that I have many fond memories of.

I also am really creative and tend to do all kinds of art such as drawings, painting and such. However, lately I have focused more on my computing course so have not done much. :)
Your very lucky to get such an incredible gift for your birthday buddy and Im sure you will get the full game once you experience that demo a few more times. :)

My saturn never gave me any problems too which is fantastic considering I had it for over a decade. In contrast I had to swap my dreamcast's laser and pwer supply once but it's all worth it. :)

Writing, drawing, art in any way, shape, or form, hard rock music, dancing wildly even though I can't dance for crap. I write poetry and lyrics (although they're not very good T__T) and comedy movies. I love the Dreamcast podcast that DiGi and TRiPPY put on. I also enjoy thinking outside the box. I'm what is known as a Meathead. I can laugh at myself, think outside the box, and smile. Meatheads are smarter than your average Joe, with much more common sense and the rare ability to find creative solutions to problems. My idol is a man named Jimmy Dolittle. Look him up ^.~
Where'd ya get it? I WANT IT. But none of the game stores anywhere close to me sell systems older than the Gamecube, and even then half of them are like, "er.... I think we're out of those......"

Awesome! I got a Sega Saturn and the original NiGHTS only after bribing my mom - I told her that if I passed my math exam, she would have to buy me the Saturn/NiGHTS. one month later (december 07) I got my wish! Only it doesn't save my scores because the battery is dead. I'm afraid to change the batteries, because it says on the back "WARNING. SYSTEM MAY EXPLODE IF BATTERIES ARE INCORRECTLY SET." My dad wants to change the batteries, but I say we should get it done by a professional. He won't let me pay fifteen dollars to get it changed.

Anyways, ignore me and my ranting on about batteries. Happy birthday and enjoy your Christmas NiGHTS!

dont worry too much about the battery. I opened the back panel and it appears to be a simple watch type battery (a bit bigger). Should be pretty easy to replace. I have to get mine replaced also.

well if you search Ebay there are usually some. In my case a friend of mine called me up and told me she had gotten a used Saturn into the small store she worked at. Around that time my trucks intake manifold went bad and $537 later I wasnt able to buy the Saturn. Luckily one of my friends who knew I had wanted one discovered that exact system at the shop and bought it for me. It was purely coincidental that it contained Christmas niGHTS. I really didnt bleieve it at first, that such a sought after demo was just sitting in the disc slot. Needless to say I was ecstatic and squeed quite loudly. IT was a spectacle.

Go to Yard Sales to find one. One block sale I went to around a year or two ago had a SEGA Saturn in at least three different garage sales.

Guardian Heroes yeah! I can vouch for that! It's like Streets of Rage but with monsters and swords! I seen it really expensive on eBay though, like how Saga is..
