Hey what if Octopaw is actually a dreamer too? He's just an octopus dreaming and since he can't speak, NiGHTS doesn't know he actually wants to be his friend and thus always gets chased. Did NiGHTS ever think, "Hey. Maybe that octopus wants to dualize." No I don't think so. Meanie.

I just journeyed to DA but I didn't see any fanart for Octopaw and NiGHTS dualizing. However I did see what looked like tentacle rape although it was NiGHTS doing the raping... yeah

I admit I got a little freaked out when I saw his tentacles crepping out of that jar *shudders*
But now I think he's kinda funny

Yeah, but its more like I like the link challenge. Though he doesn't really tie in with the story line, I still guess I do.

BTW, here's my theory on Octopaw's origins:

In stories, octopi are usually seen guarding sunken treasure and the like. And Octopaw shows up in the dreams of both Will and Helen, who are powerful children that possess the Red Ideya of Courage. Therefore, Octopaw may be drawn to either Red Ideya or strong dreamers in general. Because of this, he is constantly chased by Nightmaren who want to use him as a tracking device, and he has become skittish, which is why he usually flies away from anyone that gets too close.

Well, from what NiGHTS and Owl had to say about it, I'd say it's a separate creature. Kinda like the birds in the background when Will and NiGHTS meet in the intro.
