Anyway:
- "Brazilian Flower" by Jean Jaques Perrey ..it was on some random YTMND thing my friend linked me to. We both agreed that it was awesome and spent days on days with that site in the background of the browser.. *lol, lame* but he managed to find the MP3 and sent it along. It's snazzy and peppy, awesome to dance to while feeling feverish, but that's not a requirement.
- "Diner" by Martin Sexton ..first heard it on an ep of Scrubs, but it's upbeat and puts me in a very good mood.
- "Alex Chilton" by The Replacements ..funny how we hear good songs at the worst moments of our lives. I'm not great at describing why songs really do it for me, it's up to the listener.
- "Kings of Sleep" by Stuart Hamm ..Stu is friggin' awesome as a bassist, and likewise, it's a friggin' awesome song. It's very mellow, but was what I spent hours calming myself down and focusing on my art when I was in 12th grade. It managed to put me in a better state of mind.
- "The Grid remix" or "Matrix II" ..I'm not clear what the true working title is, but I do know that it is usually found with the artist name The Cynic Project. I've spent the last 4 years trying to figure out who the heck made the damn thing, and finally.. my boy stumbled across the answer. It's amongst one of the original top ten happy musics from my highschool days.
- "Binge and Grab (instrumental)" by Buckethead ..of all the tracks on the Giant Robot CD, this one kind of sticks out like a sore thumb... but it's so cool and fun. It's upbeat, got a catchy slappy bass line. (and if anyone has the very rare and hard to find version with lyrics, I'd be very interested in obtaining that...)
- "Friends" by Joe Satriani ..one, I loooooves me some Satriani, two, it's upbeat, fun and puts a warm feeling in my heart.
- "Flying in a Blue Dream" by Joe Satriani ...this song is forever embedded in my heart and mind. It was the first song I'd really gotten into hardcore other than listening to Pink Floyd like mad for several years. My mom bought a concert CD with three artists (one being Joe of course) from the Columbia Music club thinger (lol) back in '96. Something about it, I connected to instantly. I missed out on the original release of NiGHTS, but had received a Nintendo 64 from my dad for Christmas. I'd run over to any level with the flying cap everytime the song was playing and just fly... It's a bit slower in terms of tempo, but has an upbeat and inquisitive flow to it, sort of in the same sense as Kings of Sleep.
That's about all I got for now.
and most I have on hand, so if anyone wants to give 'em a shot.. just let me know
