One morning my bedroom light was switched on in order to try and get me to wake up faster.
Now, this only sort of worked.
The first time I 'woke up' there was one, still image of my real life room that wouldn't change in my left eye, but my right couldn't see anything.
The second time, a different image, this time one of my kittens had gotten on my bed and was staring at the door, still wouldn't change.
I bring my hand up and it's made of this misty watery stuff, but I knew it couldn't be on of my flesh-and-blood hands. I then tried forcing open my right eye, and still nothing but darkness.
I was starting to wonder if this was somehow real or not.
On the one hand, it was my room and every time I hovered near full conciousness, I saw an updated image, but on the other, my hand is solid.
What does it mean?

Sounds like it could be false awakenings. I've had them from time to time where I'll 'wake up' but can't get out of bed because my legs have went to jelly, or I'll get a few feet and end up back in bed. Sometimes everything seems normal except for maybe a single object is a different colour or I'll have shadows following about just at the edges of my vision. Yet despite it all I'll still believe I woke up. XD
When I have false awakenings, I usually do wake up for real directly after them. Though, depending on how many I had( once I had about 8-10 in a row. Went fully lucid about half way through and KNEW they were happening, but still couldn't stop them. Blergh x_X ), I can be in a daze for a few hours afterwards wondering if I'll sit back up in bed again. I hate them for that. D:
Anyway, yeah, rambling aside, I think you had some false awakenings. They don't seem all that harmful, just confusing.

Yeah i get those usually when im very sick, you body is so numb that you cant move your body, your basically half awake but most of your body isnt, basically your eyes but sometimes your mind will play tricks on you. It takes a good 15-30 mins for mine to wear off. Scary sometimes because at points you dont know whats going on.
When it first happend to me, i thought i went insane.
like when i had it my first time, all i was able to do was stare at the ceiling and i swore i could see a guy popping his head of a whole and grinning at me. It was scariest thing ever and i couldnt do anything about it because my mind was tricking me.
