I know this has been posted on already, but I decided to actually DO something as the advice given in that original forum posting wasn't all that descriptive, and the only helpful part was that there are cone and ball shaped grinder parts for the job... Well I converted that tiny peice of information into this video...

blip.tv - NiGHTS Wii Nunchuck Mod (Recommended, especially as you can download the original .mov/.avi)
YouTube - NiGHTS Wii Nunchuck Mod

I'll have Blip.tv version of hopefully slightly better quality soon, but I apologise for the quality as it was using a phone camera and then overcompressed to 3GP originally, as you can hear I completely remastered the audio using my fancy pants equipment... anyways, there's photos to go with it and that I used in the video where are on my Flickr account:
Wii Nunchuck Mod - a photoset on Flickr

Something that might make wizeman easier, if that's atall possible. Hope it helps, comments apreciated.

Thank you so much. This video is far more descriptive than that piece of reading. I'm not sure why Nintendo uses the 8-way but it does work with some games I guess.

I want to do this so bad! I have all the hardware I need (thank the heavens for a DoItYourselfer Dad! I just wonder if my drillbits are big enough...) except for an extra nunchuck...aren't they $30/15£ each? =s

Yeah, you can get a spare from amazon/play for £15.

I'm considering the grip stuff in that thread, as you can see during the sped up video, I kept pausing to regain my grip on the nunchuck and replace my thumb on the thumbstick

Great vid! 5 stars. Although if I ever do this mod to my nunchuck I think I will try doing it just with sandpaper and no drill. That was all I did when I modified my gamecube controller.

This is an interesting watch. Thanks for the tutorial.

I myself didn't mod the Nunchuck, I used the PS2 controller instead. How, you might ask? I used a keyboard adapter I bought once for the Gamecube, to use with PSO. This adapter also supports the DualShock. I think I used it once before.

Well, since NiGHTS can be played using the GC controller I gave it a shot and, to my surprise, it worked. So much more precise! :P

Thanks for the info! It's so much easier to play now. :(
