Alas, Minn has had to step down from heading this part of the project... but that gaping void shall be filled by yours truly!

I'll keep this place updated with everything as I go along... for now, here's the basic story I'll be following. (Copied from below)

The Littlest Nightmaren.
It's starts with a young dreamer with very little imagination who imagines up a very unscary nightmare. This nightmare wants to be scary with all his heart, so he goes and visits all the boss nightmaren to find out how. Puffy teaches him that being giant and strong is scary, Gulpo finds that his massive unblinking eyes terrify children, Clawz reccomends claws and spikes, Jackle recommends big sharp teeth and NiGHTS and Reala tell him that flying means visitors can never escape them.
The littlest nightmren then goes to the great Lord Wizeman to ask to grant his wish, and tells him he wants all of the above... and so Gillwing is born.

Shall have to get doodling all the Maren's now...

heh, entertaining idea there Cruithine XD I can imagine Gillwing trying to sing Under the Sea and not eat everyone XD Though would Gulpo not be more suitable? Him being a fish 'n all.

All the bosses make an apperence in my Day, so I'll stick up a series of what all them will look like... I never like drawing things exactly as everyone else does, so expect some changes!

Here's another quick sketch... this one is horrible though. I tried to make Reala more solider-like, but I rushed through the design and he paid the price. I'll do another version soon enough, but for now you're stuck with this craptastic piece. It was done mostly on a train journey, so I can forgive myself some of the terrible art quality.

Excellent job on Clawz! He almost looks like a Digimon character lol. Gulpo looks neat too- can't wait to see how you do the color on him.

The Ree design looks to be shaping up nicely, but I really detest his frilly collar. It detracts from his awesomeness. The knee pads look cool, and someone finally drew him without wrists! w00t! Everyone kind of avoids that topic from what I've seen. Keep going!

Sai hates the frilly collar too, but I'm convinced there's some way to make it work... XD Sai'll keep trying~
I hadn't realised that people didn't draw him with inviso-wrists o_O They're a fairly major part of his design! Hell, my fanmaren is missing most of his forearms and lower legs! XD

Yeah, with all the black, it's difficult to see that he is, in fact, still wristless. I had to on-and-off stare at his hands for months to discover that myself (and I'm only saying that because I don't know how long it took for anyone else to spot it, if at all). ..... And I'm still not entirely sure his wrists are non-existant, his hands are so close to his arms and there's so much black. *goes to look at that 'Encore' NiGHTS AMV again* That AMV is full of win.

Anyway, props for drawing Reala wristless. ^-^

I was only using this image as a guide. And either he's got reeeeeally thin wrists on the insides of his hands, or they're not there XD
Though I can see why people wouldn't spot it now that I look at other images. Thanks for the heads up!

Ah, me zooming in there and actually looking at those areas makes it very obvious; if he had wrists, his arms wouldn't end in veritable stumps when his hands are at those angles. ^-^ *smacks self*

Crap.
Due to an unforseen avalanche of work rapidly working its way down the foothills of college towards me, I shan't be able to do any more updates on this for another two weeks.
I have not abandonned this however! XD

My apologies to all of you, the avalanche was significantly larger than I had foreseen, and Sai will not be able to dig himself out until the college term is over. Reams of sketches and hopefully pages will follow from the 20th of may!

Just a quick wee update to show that I'm not actually dead.
I've basically worked out all the pages layouts on little yellow Stick-Ems while working in the bank and am now transferring them to full pencils and have also started colouring the first page. Gimmy two weeks and it'll all be done hopefully!
It has been quite fun trying to characterize each of the bosses so they sound and act completely different... looking forward to the NiGHTS and Reala section, have a fun idea for them!

I'm not putting huge amounts of effort into the pencils because I want the pages to be primarilly photoshoped, and the pencils are more of a rough guide than final lines, so please forgive the messiness.


As of yet unfinished sketch of Puffy... now with more bling than ever!
I want her to be completely excessive in everything, so she's going to be pretty painful on the eye when it comes to details... frills, jewels, fishnets...

Here's the textless first page of my one. I don't want to spoil everything about mine before it's finished, so this is the only full page out what I've done I'ma gonna show you! I'll probably tweak it a bit before the whole thing is finished though~
I'll stick up some panels as I go to show that I'm still working on it though!
