I've always pronounced it just like they do in JoD, and it's not really "Idiot", it's more "Ih-dee-a".

Writing, drawing, art in any way, shape, or form, hard rock music, dancing wildly even though I can't dance for crap. I write poetry and lyrics (although they're not very good T__T) and comedy movies. I love the Dreamcast podcast that DiGi and TRiPPY put on. I also enjoy thinking outside the box. I'm what is known as a Meathead. I can laugh at myself, think outside the box, and smile. Meatheads are smarter than your average Joe, with much more common sense and the rare ability to find creative solutions to problems. My idol is a man named Jimmy Dolittle. Look him up ^.~
I always went for "Idea". It made more sense to me, given the content of the game itself.

I have allways called it "Ideya" as in "I have an Idea!"
But since J.O.D I've called it like they have I-De-Ah.
I was shocked they pronounced differently than me
I was thinking,"You mean I've been saying it wrong all
this time!?" :o

I've gotten used to pronouncing Ideya as Ih-dee-yah by now. So, I vote for "Idiot". :o

For the first five minutes of JoD I thought they were calling people names. But now I can't help but pronounce it 'Idiot'.

I'm still on the fence. Even though what they say in JoD is the official pronunciation, it's their fault for making it relatively ambiguous all these years.. Always thinking it to be 'eye-dee-ya' clashes with the now knowing of it as "ih-deya". Also with Real-a/Re-a-la. It's hard for me to say "ih-deya". I kinda still wanna call things the way I saw 'em to begin with. I mean, since it was left to some level of interpretation,..

Come to think of it, it's kinda cool [for a game that deals with the unconscious mind] how many aspects of NiGHTS have been subject to the fan's interpretation. Whether you call NiGHTS a he or she, whether he'd sound like a boy or girl or whatnot, and also how to pronounce words like Ideya and Reala's name.

"Idiot," because that's how I first heard it pronounced and I've only known NiGHTS for...*counts*...ah! a little over four months, so I had no previous idea of what it would sound like.

"Idiot" is the way I usually say it. [eye-day-ah]

I used to pronounce it the other way like "Idea" until JOD came out. Then I kind of grew used to the "Idiot" pronouncition, even though I still tried to say "Idea" but eventually "Idiot" just kinda became second nature. Although at the first cutscenes I was like "What the...your saying it WRONG Owl." >:/

I swap between the two, though I seem to lean toward the 'idiot' version. It's just easier for me to say, it seems.

I played through JoD first and still haven't played NiD, so I've always said Idiot, though I never gave the idea any thought 'til I came here.

NiGHTS: "Look! It's the idiot of hope!"

I always liked "idea" more. It seemed to be a play on letters rather than an entirely made up word. Still "idea" always felt more appropriate for a game about dreams.

Funny enough, I pronounce it like I would in Latin. "Ee-day-uh"

I think it sounds WAY more formal.

I've always said "idea", because that's what I assume the Japanese meant when they wrote イディヤ - it's literally "ideya", but that's only because that's how the word "idea" is pronounced in English. It's all just phonetics. I don't really understand why they say it so strangely in JoD... I think they watered down some things to try to make it less confusing for new fans, but it made things confusing for old fans instead.
