WOOT! About 2 more weeks until 1-18-08, when the infamously advertised Cloverfield movie comes out! Sounds like it's going to be awesome! And I'm excited that America's getting its own Kaiju. One that's not cute and cuddly like King Kong. So, any speculations on the monster? Anyone else as pumped as I am? Share!

JJ Abrams has made a Giant Monster for America. Sort of like how Japan has Godzilla. I don't know the name of the monster yet, but I've spent many hours researching it. Apparantly the Tagruato company has been tampering with deep sea bacteria and using its properties to saturate a drink called 'Slusho' with it. Incidentally this also is connected to some kind of whale creature that a deep-sea drilling rig has discovered and antagonized. I'm guessing that an eco-terrorist group called TIDO is somehow going to be responsible for the company losing control over the creature, and its going to pop up in New York and be very unhappy.

They spent so much time NOT advertising the movie, now that it's released they gotta make up for it. XD

(I recommend seeing this movie or spoiling it beforehand so you can read the good stuff that covers like half this post.)
Hmm. I won't say it was bad, but it certainly wasn't that great either. The whole handi-cam thing gave me mild motion sickness
All I know is that (at least at my movie theater) they picked one hell of a movie to show a preview for

There were some excellent scenes and the scale of the movie was certainly epic. Long story short it's the highest-budget handi-cam movie ever with some low-budget writing. All I know is that (at least at my movie theater) they picked one hell of a movie to show a preview for

Yeah. I've heard talk about a sequel. But from what I hear, they're thinking about the same attack only from a different POV. I personally would like an aftermath movie detailing the reprecussions of Cloverfield, leading to an encounter with a more mature creature of the species.

Me and Vert were actually thinking about that sort of sequel, though I like your idea a lot better.
