Sorry I've been gone lately guys, but I just had to share this with y'all.
I like the proposition of another NiGHTS on the Wii. It's the system that I have. >.< Try to ignore the comments of discontent below the article.

Okee dokee! Here's hoping they don't give up on NiGHTS now, and if they make another, well.. that might be a topic for another thread.. the community's opinions for NiGHTS 3.
Still though, I know of at least a few NiGHTS fans who want him on the PS3 and such, myself included. Because I want to see what they could do with that, and I already hope to get one eventually.

I highly doubt any new sequels will ever be on a PS3.... Though strange things do happen such as Bioware making that Sonic RPG game. x_X;

Thing is though, they have not completely written out the idea of NiGHTS on PS3/360. Up until just before JoD's Japanese release, there was still talks in the Sega office about having a NiGHTS game on the other consoles. It was nothing solid but the talks were there and i'm pretty sure they still are.

I think the reason Iizuka might decide to keep it to the Nintendo system is because he's waiting to see how sales go after JoD has released everywhere else on the globe. Judging by the feedback so far for JoD, people are seemingly quite happy with the game. Fair to say it's no NiD but the response has not been as crap as some of reviews that Sonic has been getting lately and Iizuka is seeing this. He might decide to play it safe and stick with the Nintendo crowd or if the funds are enough to take the project there then he could very well try to bring a project to PS3/360.

Sticking to Nintendo for any future games is good, as a matter of convenience, for me, but I wouldn't really be bothered if they went multiplatform. As far as exclusivity is concerned, the Wii is the logical choice for them, I think; the PS3's lagging behind the other two consoles, and the 360 just doesn't shift units in Japan.

The only situation I would be less-than-happy with is some kind of bizarre decision to go PS3-exclusive, 'cause I don't plan on getting one of them for another few years yet unless we see another big price drop.

Personally I'd be happy with an Xbox Live Arcade/PSN NiGHTS game. The average budget for a real next gen fame is about £15 million, not taking into account advertising, it's much less on the Wii and less still on XBLA et al. The game is hardly ever going to set the world on fire, whatever format it's on, but without the costs of physical media and given the widespread appeal of these services, it seems logical.

The Wii has Wii Ware next year, but the size limitations on it seem almost crippling.

It wouldn't really matter to me what system it would come out on. Though, I would love to see NiGHTS in High-Def 1080p *drools*.

Maybe if we're lucky, Sega would re-release NiD on the Xbox 360/PS3 as a remake of it with better graphics and put it as a download on the Xbox Live Marketplace/Playstation Store (at least to credit to the fans in the States who don't get the Japanese remake of NiD for the PS2).

The Wii would still be nice for motion controls, but only if they can get it right unlike JoD.

Yes, but there's not even potential sales over there given the low amount of of hardware sold is all I'm saying.

Perhaps the 360 would be a better decision, given that it and the Wii have around the same amount of sales worldwide, but the 360's is with a larger percentage in western countries. But then I guess you've also got to consider demographics and such, and is a typical owner of one console more likely to buy a NiGHTS game than the typical owner of the other.

But what about all those fans who are Nintendo loyal? What if they don't own a PS3 or a 360? I'd hate to see this great franchise sold only on systems we don't have. I know a lot of you hace PS3's and 360's but I know a lot of people (and I mean A LOT) who are Nintendo loyal through and through. I hope that if they release it on the PS3 and 360 they at least have the decency to give us Nintendo freaks a chance.

Putting NiGHTS EXCLUSIVELY on a system other than the Wii is suicide, and SEGA should know that. Most of the fanbase here (Including myself) bought a Wii specifically to play NiGHTS, and those who aren't members of this fanbase, and still bought NiGHTS, if they expect a sequel at all, it's going to be a sequel for Wii. What fanbase they've gotten, they're (Hopefully) not going to be stupid enough to spit in their/our faces and release it for another console. To me, that would be like hovering a bone in front of a starving dog and saying 'go get it, stupid.'
And, ArchangelUK, if you read this, I hope you find the time to show this to your superiors. You hear me, SEGA?! Don't be stupid, here! You should take the time to read the complaints about JoD, and create an even BETTER NiGHTS game!!

They won't put it exclusively on another console. It will either be a release on multiple consoles or a Wii exclusive again, judging by how Iizuka talks about it in that interview.

I'd love it if it were Wii exclusive. Another thing I'd love is if they used the *bleep*ing nunchuck again because God, I suffered my first Wii-related sports injury the other day trying to make *bleep*ing Sonic swim through that *bleep*ing pool in *bleep*ing Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Well, they apparenty like it more than SRA, I can actually find people to race online. Hey, did we ever get sales numbers for JoD?

Also, here's a thought people. NiGHTS Ps2 is another NiGHTS game. Think about it.

I think right now. Sega should just stay with Nintendo...I mean, Sega games doesn't feel right on either Sony's or Microsoft's systems. Seeing that people would only buy those systems for just basicly war games. I don't see Nights doing well at all on those systems if it was ported there or if the next game will be put there. Just look what happend when Sonic when on the 360.

I'm not jumping for joy, but I am happy about the mention of another NiGHTS game. I just hope they put it on a different console, or up the framerate+graphics+not use the Wiimote as a pointer. I swear...that's the worst use for the thing evar.

A different system pretty much ensures better graphics, and they really need better graphics. JoD looked like a PS1 platforming nightmare in some spots. I was expecting a much prettier game- the only part worth replaying for visual quality are the openings and endings. Then again, SEGA would really be smacking its' hardcore fans with a different console release. Multiconsole ne C:?

The voices also need to go away if there's another. NiGHTS sounded like he was on helium, Reala's that creepy old man down the street that you tell your daughter to stay away from, and the kids who did Helen and Will have little to no talent in voice acting. NiD had an eloquent feel to it without voices. JoD is...ick.

Not that I don't like the game, which I prolly really sound like. I love it, I just don't like the way SEGA rushed it out. I think they themselves got caught up in the hype for it. Waiting isn't fun, but it would have been better if we'd had to wait for a polished summer '08 release. I'm disappointed with Sonic Team.

Back on topic, now ^^;;;. A PS2 release would be a good way to go, considering they're already doing the remake for it. The PS2 is virtually every gamer's homeboy (ick, modern slang...), and it outperformed itself with every major release on it. Kingdom Hearts and KH2 look excellent in cutscenes and out- now picture NiGHTS looking that nice and polished throughout the game. Yay!

So my opinion: PS2, or make the Wii version prettier than JoD was. And for the love of god...NO HANDHELD.

Okay, so in the past I didn't think the idea of a NiGHTS game on the Ps3 would be cool but now that I own one it too would seem like a good system.
1. The analog is perfect for NiGHTS.
2. It produces gorgeus visuals.
3. You won't see 3 lights while paralooping.

But hey Iizuka's decision is his decision. I wonder what Naka would have decided.

Aight, DiGi Holmes up in the place smokin' the pipe. I'm a bloody detective, i swear down. I just got my reply from Julissa and IT IS her. And i got more of an answer than i bargained for. Here's her reply when i asked her if it is her doing the voice acting for NiGHTS -

Now on to ask her if she wants to appear in DreamCast ...and what's this other game that NiGHTS is making an appearance in? He's set to appear in Zero Gravity, we know that much...maybe she done the voice acting for him in that, too.

Ideally, if Iizuka carries out his word with NiGHTS 3 being on the Wii, it should take full advantage of the Wii's hardware through smooth Super Mario Galaxy quality visuals, better functioning Wii controls, and all NiGHTS flying segments with Ideya Capture gameplay. I wouldn't mind alternate missions just as long as they incorporate what makes NiGHTS fun. The bird chasing and Octopaw can stay, just not the boring platforming segments.

The gameplay should move faster than the speed challenges on NFS:PS and the battles could be like DBZ episodes. Remember just a mode. Not an entire game

I'm hoping that at some point in the future, they'll release a Dreamcast/Saturn to Gamecube adapter. I think the Dreacast controller might be even better than the 3D pad, what with it's lighter spring and better traction on it's tip.

I must be the only person ever who actually wants NiGHTS to be written into the storyline of Zero Gravity.
