Did anyone else notice that whenever Reala was talking to Helen, he sounded like his mind was somewhere else?

Do you think maybe...Reala is thinking of what happened between him and NiGHTS? If so, that's REALLY deep, Sonic Team! Good job!

Please speculate.

Reala probably cares more about NiGHTS than he lets on. I sort of got the impression that he didn't actually want to hurt NiGHTS, just was angry at him for running off and shirking his duty. Reala lost his partner in crime and got stuck with all the work while NiGHTS gets to go and play around.

He acts nasty about it but he's always trying to just cage him up so he can be brought back. Probably if he wanted to do NiGHTS any real harm, he could do so easily.

in that particular scene he was drawing the warp circle around helen... so that could have been just his concentration split between his manipulative speech and the spell

I agree with the comment that he cares more about NiGHTS than he lets on. Like it's been said, if he really wanted to hurt NiGHTS, he could easily do so. Grab his arm and yank it out of its socket or something equally as grotesque and painful. Yet, he himself never lays a hand on NiGHTS. Even when you're battling him, all he does is throw big explody balls at you. He never actually throws a punch.

Lol, the voice acting was okay, not bad, but I dont think Reala was going deep. I think he was just trying to convince helen.

Possibly. Video games tend to have bad acting. It's over-emphazised and sounds warped to me. I hear Shadow the Hedgehog talk and I immediately think Clint Eastwood for some reason.

Yes actually, It DID sound like that. I noticed that when he said "you're so, so...Alone.", A bit of sadness crept into his voice. I really think he was thinking about himself and NiGHTS.

I thought that too, but then I noticed him making the hole around Helen. As someone has already said earlier, he was probably just trying to sound sad in order to distract and circle her. He may not have had strong feelings of that at all. I have seen many villians in the past use such acting merly for that purpose and they sounded like they cared too. But they didn't. He was just trying to be deciving. He probably could have just made the hold and shoved Helen in there with his foot, but that would not have been as cool.

The whole fact that Reala feels betrayed by NiGHTS is all fan speculation. It is not offically know. For all we know, he could be happy about NiGHTS being gone, but he must carry out his duty and do as Wizeman says. In believe he says something along the lines of not wanting to take NiGHTS by force, but he does not want to face Wizeman's wrath himself. We just don't know. But the JOD makes it seem he only half cares about NiGHTS. He seems more worried about getting Wizeman upset more than anything. So he needs to bring NiGHTS in no matter what.

I don't think so, I just think he was trying to do a little psychological damage by rubbing it in a little. Especially because this game is kind of a remake of what happened, not that the first game occurred and then this one. At least thats what I came to understand.

I agree with Purgatory and Yamilover13... Reala is just acting if he cares so he can distract Helen... notice that Helen did nothing to fight or escape or whatever.

So yeah.. the sad tone you hear is just to act if he cares... but we'll find out later if it is officially true...

I think in order to make Helen listen he had to act like he cared at least a bit... also perhaps the circle wouldn't have worked if she didn't have some kind of doubt inside... who knows.

As for the circle, maybe they needed to be doubtful but I am not sure. Actually, Reala pushed Will into the hole earlier in the game, and it was berfore he found out about NiGHTS being an nightmaren and getting all doubtful.

He isn't that grabby, but he is a little. NiGHTS always get taken hostage by the cage but he doesn't have to touch him to do that. There are then only two other occasions I can think of with him grabbing. ONe was when he grabed both Will and Helen, and the the time he grabed Will and started talking about "getting what I want" or something along those lines.

As for not being that violent...yeah he really isn't. Even his bio makes him seem he would be but he is not in this game. He is more of the scheming type.

My first thought was "Oh cool the dolphin persona, I'm gonna wear it for no reason!" but it wasn't the dolphin persona. It was actually the same kind of mask Reala was wearing.

But seriously, he was just trying to sound convincing, notice how he's BEHIND Helen so that she won't see his unconcerned face.

Also, he's not as violent as I'd hoped, but him ramming into NiGHTS semi-makes up for it. Also threatening to kill Willy-will.

Reala was going for the amused false-sympathy tone to:

1. Assail Helen with verbal irony
2. Do a little more mental damage in unison with tossing her into Will's dream.

Ah, NiGHTS probably thought that it went well with the enviroment and decided to great Helen like the funny masked jester he was not thinking maybe, just maybe, there might be consequences to it. Oops!

That's something I've wanted to discuss here. What was NiGHTS doing before Helen walked into Crystal Castle that NiGHTS was wearing the mask he was so reluctant to wear in the first place? Did NiGHTS actually consider turning himself in to Wizeman? The thought gives me hives.

Do the masks do anything besides sticking to NiGHTS and Reala's faces? Maybe, with time, the masks allow them to assimilate their "U.V" form or something.

I agree with this comment, especially in light of the way Reala spoke to NiGHTS in Delight City. Reala seemed to almost be warning NiGHTS. The jist of what he said was something like "I must warn you that our master is displeased by your [I forget whether it was insolence or disobedience or what]", and basically "I don't want to be Cerberus' prey myself so you're coming with me whether you like it or not". Reala seemed to be trying to save has badass face by brushing it off and saying "I'm not here to chitchat anyway >:|" My interpretation is that Reala was begrudgingly letting NiGHTS know that NiGHTS was in Deep Trouble, and was basically saying "I don't exactly want to catch you (even though you're annoying) but I'll do it so I don't get my rear whupped by Wizeman".

I don't see it as ~*beautiful unconditional brotherly love*~, but Reala does seem to have a little flicker of caring in him.

Thats because paralooping Reala (Yes, it is possible) does nothing. NOTHING!

Good thought. NiGHTS and Reala were both First-level Nightmaren, so Reala could view NiGHTS as somewhat of a brother...

Yeah Reala could kill NiGHTS if he wanted to. You have to remember that him and NiGHTS were made to be the perfect team, but then NiGHTS revolted. It's not that NiGHTS is truly a hero, they just dont like wizeman, and wants to protect nightopia from wizeman. Really NiGHTS and Reala are not that much different. It's just that Reala doesn't mined being used.

But yeah you can tell Reala cares some about NiGHTS. If he didn't he would have crushed him, insted of capturing him. If you think about it, Reala might also have protected NiGHTS that way. Because Reala knew he was going after wizeman, and the chances were that NiGHTS was going to be killed.

So really you could look at it any way. It is kind of a Sonic and Shadow thing. (well they are friends now, but at first they weren't).
