[Hime Blue]

Alright, I saw this on another board I frequent and thought it would be quite fun to do it here. The goal of this is to suggest 3 songs for the next person who posts to listen to, comment on, and rate. They then post another 3 songs, and it goes on.

I guess I've got to start.

OK - here goes. I want to start off by saying that i was probably the wrong person to pick this particular baton up as this really isn't my kind of music. However - i listened to all the tracks in full and tried to listen without making my mind up until the end of each track.

1st - What Have You Done-Within Temptation-The Heart of Everything

actually, I found the start of this track quite good - this is the kind of thing I would have enjoyed several years ago and it actually sounds much better the second time around - I nearly started singing along!! kind of catchy - not as bad as I initially thought (I have never really been into metal - but this wasn't too bad at all). Decent vocals! C

2nd - Where I Reign-Kamelot-Siege Perilous

starts off very quietly and takes a while to kick in in my opinion but I prefer this to 'what have you done', features some nice guitar work once it really kicks in which was pretty good. Quite a lengthy track but it didnt seem to drag at all. worth a listen to even if you dont enjoy metal! B

3rd - Flagcarrier-Machinae Supremacy-Deus Ex Machinae 2.0

I spent ages trying to find this, looked everywhere before i realised you could download it from their website. Anyway - more metal! strange one this - Couldnt get into it to begin with - I found it a bit too whiney (sorry). The actual music isnt too bad but the vocals really spoilt it for me. Got better halfway through when the guy shuts up. from 3mins 30 secs - this was probably my favourite track and by the end I felt I had enjoyed it - it was quite beautiful - but listened to it again and the terrible vocals in the 1st half of the track just spoilt it. 1st half - (urgh), 2nd half - B+, overall - C

Hope that wasnt too bad (sorry Hime if your dissapointed by my scores) - I'm sure that anyone who prefers metal would have scored these much more highly than me but I have tried to be fair despite my own personal tastes.

Anyhow - now im afraid someone will have to suffer those tastes. its been really difficult just picking 3 tracks while looking through my music collection but here you go:
