I was wandering around town today, doing my last-minute Christmas shopping, when suddenly a rather sparkly magazine cover caught my eye.

RetroGamer was covered in purple and glitter XD

So I picked up the mag. There's a six page article on NiGHTS into Dreams in it, and a lovely little Sega Saturn section (which I didn't scan).

Cool Awesome, they actually resolve something I've been wondering about, the reverse colors of NiGHTS's cuffs. Iizuka explains they originally wanted him the way it looks in the game (yellow fringe) but it accidentally happened that the FMV colors were switched. The FMV NiGHTS with the purple fringe (they translate in a confusing way by saying triangle both ways) was more popular, so they stuck with that.

Article still has that thing Iizuka said about no ports

If I may, I'd like to request those scans in a bit higher res, so we can read it right here. For those of us with slow internet especially, so that they don't need to suffer a 31 mb download to read em.

Thanks for sending this to us, Fen. I just done reading it.

It seems the magazine has spliced two interviews together. The questions that Yuji Naka answered were in a previous issue of the magazine, according to TRiPPY. The Iizuka questions must have been asked recently. Lol, i thought it was weird how Naka and Iizuka were both answering questions. I don't think the two of them talk anymore. ;;

Still, thanks for sending it in. And i'm glad they kept the cuffs like that after all. The purple bottom half instead of having the yellow bottom half works better in my opinion. The greatest slip-up in the NiGHTS franchise.

Heheh, I never noticed the cuffs to be honest lol. Too busy swearing at the pians that got in the way of my paraloops XD

I had a wee 10 minute read of this in Gamestation the other day, and I was pondering whether to buy it or not.
They made me feel like they were diehard fans, when they stated the cuff colour change thing.

Then shattered that image by naming them "Blue Spheres". lol.

Just got a copy of this the other day - christmas nights also gets a tiny mention in the christmas games article. Also - there is a big article on the official sega saturn magazine which some of you might wanna check out!!
