And, yes. I agree that i'm glad the opening to the song remains the same.

But for the voices, i like all of them...Especially Reala sounds like an upper-class London gentleman who is actually a creepy gangsta hanging around streets at saturday nights. x]
But Pians sound really cute, and NiGHTS was much better from what i´´ve expected. :]

I think that Pure Valley is probably the first level for Will, so it's probably just after he meets Nights in the hub for the first time, and Nightopia is still new to him.
As for Reala's theme remix.... I really hope the boss version sounds more rock-ish, I loved the original boss battle music, but hated the 2p music.... Maybe it'll be the same thing this time around as well?
Now that the game is out, can anyone who has it cut a clip of Reala's boss battle, or at least tell us how the music is?

No but, see, I had the impression that the dreamscapes in NiGHTS were simply the children's own fantasy worlds that in effect compose Nightopia. Meaning that Pure Valley was created out of Will's own consciousness. Maybe the key difference is lucidity.. again, in effect, what the kids are doing the entire game is lucid dreaming

I assumed that they are NOT in their normal dreams because of the family troubles they are having at home. Nightopia then becomes the grey area to reslove the mental conflict.
Anyone else with thoughts on this?

@ kurosan: thats a very interesting point, like if the real world becomes nightmarish to you, you indulge in something else to take your mind of it.
@ the helen picture: the creepy thing is that I look exactly like Helen in real life, and her mom looks like mine exept with lighter hair. *decides not to tell her mom about this*

Hm.. it's not been expressed in-game, but it's a theory. Like, Nightopia is not quite simply dreams alone, but rather an alternate world you can simply reach via dreaming, and the planes you find there are those your subconscious mind 'picks out'.Hmmmm.... That's an interesting topic.....

*clutches her chest* Don't DO that!! Yeesh, Nightmaren these days! X_x
Really though, that's some effective nightmare fuel! Along with the voices, which I'm enjoying overall? I can't believe Sega's nailing this! Just about every one of their games I'm hunting for the Japanese option, but this time around I think I'll enjoy the English version! (Sounds like I may not have a choice in the matter, but hey, I'm not complaining yet! LOL)
And seiya, thanks for filling us in on that tidbit! So a bit of Reala or Wizeman in every level... and Reala IS loyal to his master, good to hear! :3

Okay, I got about four hours sleep last night and spent the past seven hours working with kids at my volunteer job. I think I'm at that point where I'm so tired that I'm actually bursting with energy! Time to work on the video again! That is, as long as my computer doesn't crash on me. Again.
If you find yourself at your wit's end, feel free to toss the .flv over here (email or Megaupload or whatever's easiest) and I'd be glad to try my hand at butchering it.

You know, I may take you up on that offer. I'll put the .flv on Megaupload and then post the link to it when it's done. When I try to convert it to .avi, it won't play in Windows Media Player and none of the editing programs I've tried are able to import it. Technology is both wonderful and a beast. I'll do my best with it! No guarantees that I'll be able to convert it with any more success than you, but I'll try.

Reala sounds cool, but also not suited to Reala. He sounds like some sophisticated gay British guy sitting on a cushy arm chair in front of a fireplace.
Orly.... hmm. Well i thinks it's smexy, and if he is gay, then i'd totally smack that phanny pack.
I thought nights was gonna sound really really girlie.. but it's kinda like how they do the voice of child anime characters..... like naruto.... *sigh*

I found Reala's voice kinda creepy when I heard it, it almost sounded like the person who does Armstrong's voice in Fullmetal Alchemist....XD No offense to any Reala fans out there.
But NiGHTS' voice was so CUTE!!!! <3

And here's a note for anyone who is interested: if you download the file from the link I posted, go and download VideoLAN (just Google it). It can play .flv files as movies. Just open the file and choose VLC to open it.
And here's a new video I just found. It's in Japanese and it's basically an interview/impressions video, but it has some new footage, like Will showing off his awesome skills with his dad and Helen with her mother. You all have seen that picture that Jof shared, right? Yeah, look for that. I'll download this and send it in to the site. I do recommend turning the volume off, the lady is a bit irritating to listen to.
Oh yeah, NiGHTS no longer does the weird broken-back pose when entering the tutorial. Yay!

And thank you for getting the video for us.
CrazyInABottle, I've good some good-bad news for you . The good news is that there's nothing wrong with your version of Riva... the bad news being that mine won't encode the video, either. Apparently there's something wonky with the file parameters or one of the codecs.
But at least the video plays smoothly in Riva FLV Player.
Good catch on the new video, too. Love the new FMV material we saw. But I swear I heard and read the word "Twinkle Dust" in there during the tutorial.

Anyway, that tutorial stages looks rather nice. It's dark and somber, giving you the atmosphere of an early night in the woods. It's really neat. Also kudos for fixing the broken back pose. The GC is still looking great as well.

Not the least bit surprised. But hey, at least we got it off the slow website, right? I did a little more searching and may have found something that works. If not, well then everyone will just have to get a new video player program!I've good some good-bad news for you . Yeah, see what I mean?Hi! Hoi! Hi! Hoi! Hi! Hoi! Hi! Hoi! Hi! Hoi!
EDIT--Update! I managed to convert the file to .avi and cut out all the extra boring stuff. Now, as Tsunami said, there is something seriously out of whack with the codec, so I cannot guarantee it will load in every video player, but if you get VideoLAN as I stated above, you will have no problems with it. I'm going to try sending it in now. Be aware that the audio is timed slightly off, but you can hear everything just fine. Still working on downloading the interview movie I posted recently. I'm going to cut out the later part where they are doing the two player mode since we've seen that already. Is that cool with everyone?

Come to think of it, scratch that, Reala sounds like a big, buffly man-man. Of course, it suites him, due to the giant muscles that bulge out of his arms....I had a dream last night that Reala was gonna try to kill my cousin....Possibly due to somebody's piccy on deviantart, a little manga where blood spattered, NiGHTS was crying, and Reala had that 'I'm gonna kill you, then kill you some more' look in his eyes.... it was very creepy....I think Reala's gonna haunt me for the rest of my days until I get a Wii, then the new game.....D: the video still won't show up...Actually on youtube I found a couple of variations of NiGHTS and Reala's voice:

O_O. I almost shat myself.
More images here
Looks like Sega are Merging THOTD with JoD on this one O_O;
The House of NiGHTS... 'Maren Blasting fun for the whole Family. Eugh, no thank you... XP Seriously though, this looks Pretty Darn Awesome.
On the subject of the voices... Much Love is to be had. Honestly, i really can't see why people are Beefing about Reala's Voice in perticuler... NiGHTS', While quite Cute, is fairly annoying (Plus, did anyone else feel the drift of how Srcastic "Hey, let me Go!" Sounded?) But Reala's Voice is Magnificent in my Opinion. Sometimes, the less Echo=y/Deep Voices are the most Distressing, in terms of Villian Creepiness... I find that works better here. While some of you are laughing over his current voice, i'd Personaly laugh at him if he sounded like a Demon from the Nth Dimension XD
Also, completely off Subject... Im not only glad that the Nightopain's now sound like Chao, but im Also happy they look a LOT LESS STRANGE in JoD then they did in the Original...

Upon close listening, it sounds subtle, but it's as if they gave a duality to NiGHTS's voice, like many of us thought they should
