The buttons, I think, were an artistic nod to jester-style. I think we've all seen a cartoon with jesters and their funny suits. XD; Most have those little buttons. But yeah. I think that was their point.

heh, that's exactly what I don't like about it XD Whenever I draw NiGHTS I always spruce him up a bit (after a few more pictures he'll probably barely look like NiGHTS anymore XD)... I wish they'd similarly tried something new with him... here's hoping for Reala...

I like it. The old costume would be a little too simple i think, and while the red stands out a bit, and clashes, it does still suit NiGHTS, especially if NiGHTS has grown up just a little.

alright, so without reading anything previously said, i'm going to say that i think it's ALRIGHT. nothing more nothing less. i think the collar takes too much glory dispite the arm/leg designs but i think that it's a good re-design that still keeps to the original. i'm VERY neutral about it.

The new collar isn't something I'm fond of, but it doesn't look bad; the original just looks better. Otherwise, it looks fine to me.

Personally I don't mind the new look, it's too much of a small difference for me to think strongly for or against it.

To me it's like making a fuss if they changed Sonics shoes, it won't look normal at first, but it doesn't affect the character as a whole, it doesn't take away some source of power or drastically warp their psyche, not a massive deal.

That said though, I think the frilly bit suits NiGHTS rather well (and this is coming from me, who continuously tries to claim I AM NOT A GIRL!)
The white hands, I am convinced are meant to be gloves and I always found it odd why only the face and hands were regularly visible...if only the looked a bit more glove-like and not floating-white-ghost-hands-of-evil-jugglers I wouldn't have anything bad to say about it at all.

I kind of like the new costume, actually. It's a lot more detailed than the old one, obviously. I do hope the eyelashes in the screenshots change by the time the game is finished, because it kind of ruins the androgynous styling of the character in my opinion.

I doubt I've said anything nobody else has said, though.

Actually yeah, now that I'm reminded of it, theres something fairly unsettling about NiGHTS; face this time around.

I don't really mind it. I like how they changed it, but not so much that they ruined him as a whole. Like they only did minor changes instead of jepordising the whole design. The only thing I disagree with is that the red should have stayed pink, I just think it would have matched better and seeing it is his original color scheme.

Umm,I'm not really upset about this but I really am not too happy about NiGHTS eyes,I mean don't you think they kinda overdid NiGHTS eyes?The number one question to me is,why did they change NiGHTS apperance in the first place?Did they not want to totally copy-cat Yuji Naka?

Yuji Naka didn't design him. It was Oshima that created NiGHTS.....though that being said, Oshima has left Sonic Team too since then so...yeah...maybe.

Naaah, I don't think you can be sued for using a character design made by your own company or something. *Dumb about these things* I think when you design something like that for a company, you kind of sign the rights over to them. But that can't take away that he was the one that drew him up. I think there would be trouble if someone else claimed to have been the originator.

AH, so I'm not the only ONE !! Anyways.

What actually happened to me is that I digged the outfit since I first saw it. I thought that I'de get sad for them to change him (I usually do when stuff like this happens), but I loved it. This is in general. Details...

Gloves. They were one of the 1st things I agreed with. I think they look good, besides... What's the big deal ? He can take 'em off whenever he wants to ! But if you don't like it, your opinion, not judging anyone. And the eyelashes... I never noticed the freakin' eyelashes he has on the IGN cover. @.o (Is that the magazine's name ?) But, looking at the cover, I don't think they make him more feminim or masculine. I think that the jacket stabilizes it. But in the game mode... Oh hell. yeah, he looks girly, the few things I didn't agreed that much. But still, I think that the whole outfit looks perfect. but that's me. Oh, and I forgot the "tatoos" in the arms and legs... Totally diggin' them. @.o

Off topic: About Jackle : he HAS to return. No transformations with Puffy like someone already said. Please, don't make revenge on the Mepian story. He didn't knew what he was doing. =.= Besides, anyone noticed that we talk more about Jackle then Reala ? o.o'

I don't mind any outfit changes. Thank God they didn't changed NiGHTS too much and kept the basic color scheme. Waistcoat looks quite nice, somewhat fancy, I'd say. The first thing I loved about this design was those pretty patterns on the sleeves and legs.
Gloves... Well, considering the design of the waistcoat, NiGHTS just HAD to acquire gloves, IMO. Though I'm kinda confused - how can these gloves be wearable? No cuff, nothing... As if NiGHTS got his hand covered with fabric completely...

Thought I would miss the old design, it was so simple and neat... On the other hand, it'd be so fun to draw the new desing!

Something about NiGHTS' face changed too, though. Well, me just thought that NiGHTS eyes originally purple/violet in color - is it just me or they are blue now? And i personally hate how these eyes look like in game - those eylashes, brrr... (Maxfactor, let your eyelashes reach the stars!.. erm, sorry ^^"""). I just think that on ingame screenshots these eyelashes makes NiGHTS looks like a girly guy... "because it kind of ruins the androgynous styling of the character"© Misaki-chan

As conclusion of my babblin' - new design is okay, and somewhat really nice. Though there's something that must be done about NiGHTS face/eyes/eyelashes, IMHO...

I also noticed the Ideya on his chest looks a little bit more smaller, but is accented by a yellow/gold border. Maybe it'll have a big role in the new game. In the old, you didn't see much of the Ideya doing things. Glowing, leading paths, etc. Maybe in this new game it'll have more significants.

Personally, I like NiGHTS' new outfit. The old one made him look acrobatic, sure. He certainly had graceful moves. This new outfit only adds to a sort of elegance he could have in the game.

I think the new look is awesome and all fancy and design ^^(i know it will grow on me when i play)

but to be honost i would preffer his original first outfit to the new one when playing the game!(but that just me) also i hope for sonicteam to add a bonus unlockable option to get NiGHTS old outfit.

I like them both actually... his new one is a bit hard to draw with the patterning, but I've always been a fan of complex creative designs. (those that you create but never want to draw over and over lol) But after years of being used to his old design, this one takes a bit of getting used to...

Having given this some thought recently and especially after looking back over some old renders of NiGHTS I’ve got to say I really do like the new outfit. There wasn’t anything wrong with the old one at the time it’s just now it looks a bit plain and ‘blah’. It was alright back on the Saturn because you couldn’t really make out much detail while playing the game but now things have moved on and I think NiGHTS had evolved to look a bit more fancy now the technology exists to smarten him up.

very awesome, i was thinking that the new outfit made NiGHTS look more boyish, but if the redness of the jacket gets embellished to a more florid, rosy pink, she can look really feminine. a sterling drawing i'd say

ME LIKE THE OLDIE. I mean it just looks cool. NiGHTS was simplistic yet flaring. Whimsical yet realistic in some aspects. I think the new is too complicated.

Red trim, red trim. XD The vest is still pink, if you look at the cover of the magazines. A lot of people I've been talking to so far keep jumping over the pink.
