"To be honest...Im surprised im alive as well... And im glad NiGHTS is back." Claris smiled at Fee, and chuckled. Orphearus watched the whole scenario. "Good....She's back." He smiled for the first time during the whole war.

Fee giggled softly and continued to float.

"I'm glad you two are alive."

NiGHTS seems to try to smile..But remains solemn. "It's a bit early to rejoice right now...I'm in no condition to help you guys.." He shakes his head and sighs again. "...No, I shouldn't be so negative..Claris, you brought me back from the dead. That in itself is enough reason for me to be happy." He finally smiles again. "..How long have I been..Dead, though..?"

Fee winced at NiGHTS' question. He finally spoke up.

"Over 10 years..."

NiGHTS looked up at the Nightopian. "What?! T--Ten years? Oh...Oh no...I don't even want to know..What Wizeman's done.." The 'Maren goes a bit slack in Claris' hold. He seems at a loss, as if he can't decide whether to be happy or upset.

"Its been a long war...Its still a long war...And not many people or Nightopians have survived." Claris looked down at the floor. "I dont know if Elliot..is alive..."

[Hime Blue]

Fee gently flew over and landed atop NiGHTS' hat. He sighed and his wings drooped.

"Probably not..." he said. "But let me say, it's worse than Nightmare ever was..."

NiGHTS flinched hearing the comment about Elliot. "No..Elliot's strong, I'm sure he's fine..He has to be...Will and Helen though..They seemed a bit more delicate than you two...They're the ones I'm worrying about." He gently picks Fee up off his hat and cradles him. "But again...Why are we being so negative? We won't know until we look for him..From what I can see, the Dream realm and the Waking realm have merged into one, right?" NiGHTS thinks for a moment. "If that's the case..Then I should be able to feel Elliot's Red Ideya even in the Waking world. " He smiles softly. "If he is alive, we can find him."

Claris looked at Fee. "Really?! It has been a long time since I have been here, either I dont remember what happened in my dream or I dont sleep.." She sat down "Many a sleepless nights..."

[Hime Blue]

Fee nodded twice. "I doubt sleep is even really completely possible anymore... I haven't gotten much sleep either." Then, he turned to NiGHTS. "They've merged as one as you say, NiGHTS. And I'll bet you anything you'll find him!" He smiled for the first time in a long time, and closed his eyes.

He felt more safe than ever...

NiGHTS continued cradling the 'Pian, still smiling softly. He looks up at Claris. "Well then..Now that we know what we're doing..How do we go about doing it? I have no idea how to get into the Waking realm..You're a dreamer, you should know more about it that I do."

"Well...there should be a portal around here..." Claris looked around, and stood up. "There! Thats a portal! We should go.. before Wiseman closes it up."

[iNSOMNiAC]

NiGHTS nodded and stood up, more stable now. He looks down at the Nightopian in his arms. "Are you going to come help us, too, little one?" The Nightmaren seems to have cheered up more, and looked very optimistic.

BiJOU had been Listening for a while, hearing the Mmention of a Plan to go the waking world.

'The Waking world... That's where HE is... MARiK... I Can have my Vengence... But...'

BiJOU was torn at what to do. She might have known niGHTS Before, but she was Sure that he would not remember whom she was... And she felt to shy to Stand up and Speak to him... Yet at the same time, this might be her only chance at finding MARiK... She didn't know weather to Follow them Secretly, or to Go Ahead and ask to Join them...

"... I'll just Follo- OOPS!" BiJOU Gasped, suddenly realising she had Spoken Aloud by Mistake. There was No Way that none of them Could have Not Heard her.

Jackle shook the stars out of his eyes, stumbling around in a perfect circle (bumping into the wall he'd crashed into much more gently) before wondering, 'What just happened?'
'You got SCARED, you moron!' he answered himself as he smacked himself in the forehead. 'You got scared you'd be sent back to nonexistance and RAN like a freaking PIAN outta Nightmare! What's wrong with you?!!'
He sighed. 'Best get this over with... I hope he doesn't kill me...'
After a few moments of blinking at his surroundings, he spotted a door three feet to his left. Not just any door - the door. Shrugging to himself, telling himself that Wizeman needed all of his lackeys now more than ever, he knocked... without realizing how much noise his crash had made.

Seeing no maren around, Helen stalked slowly out the door, checking both directions to see if any were coming from further down the street. She sighed, chose a direction, and started walking.

Cherry, meanwhile, closed her eyes and tried to get some rest. She'd been wandering for weeks, trying to find a way into the real world, and now that her first goal was made, she felt relieved enough to relax more than she had in over a decade. Things were looking up, but this was still no time for anyone to be letting their guard down.

"It would be great if you come, Fee." Claris smiled at him. "You are more experienced with nightopia."

[Hime Blue]

Wizeman snarled under his breath at the sound of the knock. Trying to recollect himself as much as possible, he spoke.

"Enter."

Fee nodded. "I'll come with you. I've been bored out of my mind..."

Brittany climbed up through the makeshift ladder she'd made out of old clothes to the outside world. She ducked her head down as a passing Shleep lazily flew by. When it left, she climbed out of the wreckage and wrapped her bathrobe around herself, shivering. "So cold..." she whispered, then shook her head. This was no time to worry about things like that. She was going to go do something.

NiGHTS grinned happily and headed towards the portal. "Well then, what are we waiting for?" With that, he stepped through...

Fee felt the whooshing sensation around him as he entered and subsequently left the portal.

"Weird..." he thought.

Claris jumped through the portal and sighed. "Well...here it is! Twin seeds...." Claris looked at the messy battlefield that was once a nice street.

'Ah, not happy,' Jackle thought with a nervous chuckle before opening the door and entering. 'Not good.'
He was still trying to mentally laugh off the shock and terror of NiGHTS coming back from the dead, and now he'd have to face the wrath of his own creator to bring the bad news. Needless to say, by the time he reached the middle of the floorspace in front of Wizeman, he was a nervously laughing wreck.
"NiGHTS..." he chuckled in terror (and you really couldn't miss that this was terror, from the look in his eyes), "NiGHTS is back!"
After just a moment of trying to get himself to stop laughing, he scream-laughed, "How's that even possible?!!"

Well, NiGHTS and company just so happened to materialize right in front of Helen, and she was so badly startled that she screamed and came very close to smacking NiGHTS in the head with her pole. She stopped just a millimeter shy of giving the maren a concussion, blinked, then dumbfoundedly muttered, "NiGHTS?"

Cherry yawned and rubbed her eyes, blinking up at the group that had just arrived, then squealed and flung herself at NiGHTS's head in a glomp, which she'd end up hugging one of his 'ears' if she was successful.

Wizeman's eyes widened. "WHAT?!" he shouted. He was even angrier than before--this was impossible! And then he realized... he hadn't really killed NiGHTS. He'd only sent him into a sleep that he should never have awoken from. But he knew the danger--and that was why he'd left him in Nightmare. And then he suddenly had a thought. Dreamers would not be able to reach the place where NiGHTS should have been at the time.

"Jackle, are you not telling me something? Where is NiGHTS?"

Fee squeaked as he saw Cherry fly into NiGHTS' hat, then grinned.

"Cherry! You're alive too!"

NiGHTS laughed happily. "Helen! You're ok, even after all this time!" He grins and pats Cherry on the head. "I guess we still have a chance then, hm? Now we just need to find Elliot and Will..Have you seen Will, Helen?"

Fee grinned. He felt as if, now, there was a fighting chance.

"Spring Valley," Jackle suddenly snarled. "Some idiots thought it'd be funny to dump him there, supposedly for all the Nightopians to see. I supposed that you can't have left NiGHTS in Nightmare without a good reason, so I went to get him back and, pretty much, that pink-haired dreamer found him."
Then he sighed and bowed his head and muttered in humiliation, "I won't lie to you; I fled. I was afraid he'd kill me so you wouldn't find out he was back, and I don't want to go back to that nothingness..."
He was fully expecting to be punished; he couldn't get away with retreat and not expect it.

Helen blinked, opened her mouth, then shook her head. A few years ago, she'd almost been devoured by a maren posing as her mother, a long scar running down her left leg in memory of that, and she hadn't trusted anything since. But Cherry wasn't running away or being eaten, and there was no point for an evil maren keeping this charade up for this long, so this had to be NiGHTS.

Cherry chirped happily when NiGHTS patted her on the head, then excitedly shrilled and glomped Fee. She'd seen him several times when they'd happened to appear in the same dream, and so she recognized him, too.

'Why isn't she talking?' Helen wondered to herself, then said, "Um... as happy as I am to see you, NiGHTS, and wonder who these two with you are, we might want to get out of the open before one of Wizeman's henchmen spots us."

Wizeman sighed in disbelief and closed all six of his eyes. He felt as if the day had just gone from bad to worse, and now he was drawing a complete blank as to what to do. One of his eyes opened and stared very pointedly at Jackle. "Jackle," he whispered cooly, "this is difficult enough for me to fathom that any of my Nightmaren would do that without my knowledge, let alone the fact that you ran off without trying to defeat him. He is weak now. Not even he can get strong enough in such a short period of time to kill you." Wizeman's other eyes opened, and his hands floated down to circle around Jackle. "Cowardice is not a quality I meant to have in you. And yes... there will be punishment..."

You could hear the laughter miles away.

Fee giggled and hugged Cherry back, singing happily as he did so.

Brittany looked around, and seeing nothing she slowly started off, going in a westerly direction. She was determined to go find other people to help her start a riot or a revolution. "Stupid idea," she thought to herself, "but it's worth a try I think."

NiGHTS frowns a bit at Helen. "So they've really overrun the Waking world..?" He nods. "Ok then, you probably know more about this place than I do, Helen. Lets get inside, then we can talk."

Claris followed NiGHTS into a partially ruined store. She sighed.

Well, now he just felt just stupid; he should've realized that NiGHTS was weakened. But... that fear...
"How did this happen?" he asked in disbelief, and not just that NiGHTS was back...

"Yes," Helen sighed to his first question, then to the next, "I don't really know this place all that well - I spent most of the years hiding."
She didn't want to mention exactly why she was here on that fateful day. It brought back too many memories, and even after that cry she'd had earlier, it still hurt.
She followed them into the store, then said, "Okay, now what?"

Cherry had followed them in, too (I'm assuming along with Fee), and tried to sit down on one of the shelves, but it collapsed beneath her light weight and sent her frantically fluttering to sit on Helen's shoulder.

Helen just sighed and patted the poor Nightopian consolingly on the head.

"Hey.." Claris paused "Why dont we look for more survivors?"

[Hime Blue]

Fee fluttered over to Cherry and sighed slightly, his wings drooping. "If we go look for more survivors," he answered, "then there's a real danger that we could be caught. Or worse."

[iNSOMNiAC]

NiGHTS sighs. "Right now, we need to worry about finding William and Elliot. Then we'll have a decent enough group to look for others, hopefully."

[Hime Blue]

Fee nodded. "Right."

[iNSOMNiAC]

NiGHTS floats in place, legs crossed. "Do we have any idea where to start? Claris? Helen?"

The purple Nightmaren continues floating in place, unnerved by the Dreamers' silence. He sighs. "Didn't think so...I suppose we could sneak around the city and look for them, though. That is, if you two are ok with going out there."
