miyazaki used cg frequently in spirited away and in howl's moving castle, for some special effects like making sophie and the flying thing see through and the flowers coming at chihiro when she's walking through the garden. it's not really a whole lot, but i definately wouldn't say he hates cg. as for him avoiding it as much as possible, well, those scenes where he used cg could have been easily done in hand like the rest of the movies, but miyazaki has pretty high standards considering artwork in his movies(especially since kiki's delivery service, before that movie, the artwork was kind of ecgk) so he probably only used cg to get a better quality image.Heh, no worries. I mean, it's not like you can't use the 'styles of anime' so to speak, in full blown CGI. After all, as we all know many would say Elliot and Claris were very 'anime', and they were 3D. Miyazaki probably shares the sentiment though that anime is only 'true' when rendered by hand, come to think of it.. reflected in how he hates using CG and tries to avoid it wherever possible in his films.
