Figured the best place for this would be "Other Games" as I hame way more games than just NiGHTS.
Right, I have two broken Sega Saturns (D:).
Model 1: Disc tray has collapsed, reckon I have to open it up and push it up. Anyone done this before? Know how to keep it there?
Model 2: Appears to work fine, but the moment I put a disc in and it tries to scan it just stops working. Screen freezes/vanishes, even on boot up with a disc present. I tried switching the batteries.
Anyone got any idea how to fix?

fixing the model 1 should be easy,
Unplug it, remove the battery cover, and if you have it,the mpeg card. take out all the screws on the bottom (carefully, you do NOT want to strip them)
then turn the console right side up, and lift off the lid. do this carefully, the power supply is in the lid, and is connected to parts rigidly mounted to the bottom half. Don't touch the power supply!!! (I don't know if it stays live after the console is off, but if it does then there'll still be juice in the capacitors, even if it is unplugged) The cables cross from top to bottom close to the front, by the power button and controller ports, so you need to rotate the cover forward.
once you have it you should see the CD board. coming from below this board are for white plastic supports. the CD board rests on these supports with these rubber things. chances are, it's either the supports or the rubber things that have fallen off or broken. if something is broken, you can probably make something sufficient to hold it up out of cardboard. it might not be pretty, but it'll be where you can't see it anyway.
If you need a picture, I can take a few.
