It happens every year no matter where you go there are carols everywhere, survivable at first but after two or more months? ::Twitches violently::
But there is the odd exception, for me it's a song called 'Not Quite Silence'
What about all you others any special attachments to Christmas songs?
--------------
In another vain by the 24th....
"Down in the workshop all the elves were making toys
For the good gentle girl and the good gentle boys
Till the boss burst in. nearly scared them half to death
A rifle in his hand, cheap whisky on his breath...."

The Night Santa Went Crazy, Jingle Bell Punk, or just plain singing nasty versions of regular songs is fun when you can't dodge the songs on the radio.

I have to admit it, i like Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You". That and Chris Rea's "Driving Home For Christmas" is also quite nice.
Aaaaand even though it's not a Christmas song, the acappella version of 'DREAM DREAMS' from Christmas NiGHTS is a song i always play at Christmas just because the game itself was very festive and i liked listening to it when i would decorate my tree.
OOOH! That being said, i also like Dale North's "Dreams Dreams (Merry Little Christmas)". It's one of my favourite fan versions of any NiGHTS track and it always made me think of TRiPPY (dawwww. i'm such a romantic git)
Songs i hate, however - Slade. That bloody Slade song gets on my nerves. Argh!

I hate "We wish You a Merry Christmas" for two reasons.
1. Everybody sings it. It's a cop-out carol.
2. They always demand I bring them my pudding. It's my pudding dammit!

I like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer... Well, parts of it...
Oh, yeah and Deck the Halls, as sung by a pair of resteraunt guys in that one movie...
But I find Santa Claus is Coming to Town unnerving...

A Christmas Story X3. Possibly the best movie about family time in Christmas.Oh, yeah and Deck the Halls, as sung by a pair of resteraunt guys in that one movie...
Most Christmas Carols I love actually. Especially if they've got some Biblical References. Like the 12 Days of Christmas. Silver Bells and Carol of the Bells have got to be my favorite. Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen is ftw. very ftw. NiGHTS Xmas songs too 8D.
Search up I am Santa Claus on esnips.com . If you're a Ozzy/Black Sabbath fan... you'll get what this is by just reading that.

Good King Wenceslas never bothered me. But then again I rarely hear it compared to other Christmas carols.
But yeah, this season drives me absolutely mad while shopping.

IGNORE THE AMV! It was the least weird video I could find of that song.. *cry*
Josse, you might want to check it out, hilarious if you know swedish XD

I just thought of another one i like...this one is thanks to TRiP cause she linked me to it last christmas when i wasn't able to be with her in person. I think someones mentioned it already but it's the one where a man and woman are insulting eachother and the bells were ringing out on christmas day. She calls him a faggot/maggot at some point and an arse, lol. But it is a pretty song and i probably wouldn't have listened to it had it not been TRiPPY making me listen to it. Makes me think of her.

Because I have traditional musician parents I know too many damn carols. Including at least 4 different tunes for While Shepherds Watched because there's a tonne of variants and different versions from different counties and eeeesh. (And the one everyone knows is the least interesting as well)
I think my favourite traditional one is The Coventry Carol even though it's really unchristmassy and more 'Shh baby hopefully king herod won't come massacre you like all the other children' XD It just has a lovely tune. I like the ones that are a little off the beaten track because they tend to be a bit more interesting. Christmas is one of the few things the UK has any vaguely remaining tradition for so I find it quite cool.
(This is a version of the Coventry Carol. Not a great one but it's better than all of those church choir ones. Formal choirs are always so stiff and cold, there's something warmer about more relaxed singers doing traditional material: )
btw, Digi, the song you are thinking of is called A Fairytale of New York, iirc and it's by Kirsty Mccoll and the Pogues iirc.

WHY were all the best songs from the 80's T-T
Because the 80's rocked! ^.^ (Is glad he's not the only one that listens to lots of 80's music)
The only carols/songs that drive me nuts are "Little Drummer Boy" and that song that just goes "SIIMPLY HAAVING A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS TIME!!" (if that's from the 80's then its the first 80's song I've found that I dislike) over and over. Thats just repetitive and needs to stop.
Songs i like are all parody songs, Weird Al is a must! And the song "Rusty Chevrolet" is amusing as anything ^.^

Also, the entire of the 'Too Many Santas' album by The Bobs. Especially 'Yuleman vs the Anti-claus'. I can't find a proper mp3 but here's a sample and the lyrics.

(Yay for people pretending to be electric guitars. The Bobs are an acapella voice band and are bloody hilarious.)

A band I love making a pretty damn terrible Christmas song (That I kinda like anyway):
XTC (as 'The Three Wise Men') performing 'Thanks for Christmas'.
Which has it's badness utterly eclipsed by how awful the B-Side is. I 'sadly' can't find a sample but here are the lyrics:

I really like this parody of 'the 12 days of christmas' I only heard it once but it was pretty funny!
HAs anyone ever listned to Jingel Bells backwards? *shudders*
You wouldn't happen to be referring to "The 12 Pains of Christmas" would you? That's on an album called "Twisted Christmas", which is a collection of Parodied Christmas songs. And Jingle Bells backwards is frightening...
