Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

I know someone who likes NiGHTS must have it. I am looking at the Javelin WFC Rankings here and someone named NiGHTS using Knuckles got in 6th place....
Its actually quite a fun game. But you arms might hurt real bad after the 4X swimming relay thing....I still can't hug right now. I think I used too much force. My arm sockets hurt. O.O
Also when my boyfriend and I started playing for the very first time he did beat me as Sonic with Mario...but that was because I used little force with the controls thinking I didn't need to swing them so fast I needed to break a sweat. I later beat him with Blaze just to show I really wasn't trying my hardest the first time.
---Edit--
Also...am I the only one that laughed when seeing Sonic having to wear a life vest for the swimming competition. XD I was wondering what he would do. I also find it ironic that he is the only one I got a world record with in that competition as well. O.O

I like the running events!
The only thing i hate is with the archery event the screen does stupid stuff if you press the two buttons to pull the string back at SLIGHTLY different times. You have to be like *spot on* or it restarts the event.
Again, Blaze looks cool.
I didn't expect to enjoy it at all. I thought it looked really corny (im waiting for brawl) but i was proven wrong.
Might buy it later on.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, not my cup of tea after all. Bloody shame.

I know what you mean though about certain events being way too compicated. Archery is the biggest I know of so far. That is just insaine. I can never get the nunchuck to go in the direction or get placed where I want it too either. Why did they even put that in there?
Yes, Blaze does look cool, and I use her all the time.
Nonetheless, its a fun party game. Now...this is actually the only party game I own as well (unless you count the games in Sonic and the Seceret Rings.) so it was worth buying a bit for me. My boyfriend and I need something to play together with. I should have waited though till it was cheaper...but I really wanted a new game for the Wii now! I am busy with Disgaea and FFXII(I think I might give up on it.) still though so I didn't want anything major.
I am going to wait awhile for Brawl instead. I know that sounds stupid but I don't even have the gamecube game yet. I am not a big fighting game fan. I am trying to get back into it, but I am just really really bad at it. Plus thats a game my boyfriend does NOT want to play. So I won't even have 2-player fun. ;-;

No, i didn't like it. I liked the look of it when i first heard about it. Then i played it and realized what a pile of over-complicated crap it can be sometimes. Just trying to shoot a simple arrow at a board has too much hassle to it. Wind direction, press both buttons at the same time, line up both targets to get a better aim. Jesus, just aim and shoot the bloody arrow and let's have some fun already.

I think one reason why they beefed up the complication of the archery event so high was because the version in Sonic and the Secret Rings was so painfully easy. Not to mention I think they wanted to make things challenging for the veteren gamers, too.
I know one reason why the archery was so weirdo/reset is because SEGA has the worst habit in the world of always keeping their Wii-motes at highest sensitivity even when you're sitting up close. That's why we had to lean back a lot when it came to the archery event.
Shame you don't like it, but we all have different tastes, afterall. I hope you still had fun in Amsterdam, though!

All me and TRiP have been doing is talking about coming back again some time in the future. Seriously. We actually wanna bring her brother, DeZ too. We reckon he would certainly like the place. Just walking about and seeing the city was nice.
As for Mario and Sonic. Yeah, i guess i was just wondering where JOD was and i guess i could feel that we were about to be let down....probably why i didn't enjoy it as much, perhaps. I would give it a second chance though, if i played it again. I'd also give it more time too. And...er...maybe read the 'tutorial' before each event. I spent my time looking around the office and drinking cola! XD

Try another event. I liked the game and even I didn't enjoy the archery event. My personal favorites are trampoline, fencing, the hammer throw and the "dream events" which incorporate elements from the Mario and Sonic games. Ping pong and skeet aren't bad either. No, i didn't like it. I liked the look of it when i first heard about it. Then i played it and realized what a pile of over-complicated crap it can be sometimes. It's a rental. It's good as far as mini-game collections go, but still a rental.

Assassin's Creed
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Silent Hill: Origins
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles
Megaman ZX Advent
I know it's a business decision, but I really hate the fact that most big name titles are released all at once like this. I'm personally glad the two titles I'm most looking forward to aren't being released until February.

As for you Zero-Shift...that is a heavy list. But not one of them interest me in the least. In fact....there are NO TITLES out there this year that I really want. All the games I really want come out next year. JOD, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravety, Super Smash Brothers Brawl (I can wait.), and Harvest Moon DS Cute (Girl version. I have several reasons for wanting this. Otherwise I would just play the boy version I just bought for my boyfriend.) So yeah.......I am not getting any more games this Christmas and the urge to have a new game is what made me buy Mario and Sonic. Ah well.
Now lets see if I have time to play any of these next year. T_T

Especially archery and trampoline and rowing. Those are my favorites. high jump and hurdles/relays is a workout. THIS GAME IS AWESOME. And well above my expectations for it. Call me pleasantly surprised.
Regarding archery, I mastered it pretty much. I can get a 9 or 10 almost every shot. I guess you just have to get used to how it works. But I caught on quickly. Overall the game is a solid 8.5 for me and Im glad I bought it.
The amount of polish in the game I think is what surprised me most. Its not lgitchy at all, the controls work well, graphically it looks good, and the voice acting doesnt make me want to kill something. Its not perfect, but this game is a hell of a lot of fun.

yeah no sh!t lol.I heard from our friend in Sega that NiGHTS is an unlockable character. They mentioned the DS version though so i don't know if it applies to the Wii version too.
But, if NiGHTS is in it then i think i'm about to reconsider my views on this game and buy it.

Now I'm imagining NiGHTS himself sitting in front of a Wii, waving the Remote frantically with his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth in concentration, then getting frustrated and kicking the Wii when he didn't win.
Also, I laughed too, if only for the pure irony of the fact that Sonic can't swim yet he's in the Summer Olympics. WTF OMG? Lol!

You can. Just press the A button on the replays. You can't skip the award ceremonies, but you can certainly skip the replays.
