Your Worst Fear

Well, I guess to start this topic off, I'll say that mine is needles. They scare me to death, really really really hate needles. And yes, they do appear in my nightmares, because just last night I had a dream that I had skin cancer in a few small spots and they had to take some sort of skin sample with a needle... And we're not talking any kind of needle, we're talking one that had to be left in for 5 minutes while it took the sample, and then there would be a huge scar left that had to be covered up. Plus, the needle wasn't conventional, it was some sort of air pressure needle that looked okay at first glance but stabbed a 9-inch needle once it was put against your skin...
Ew. Okay, uh, I'm going to quietly sneak away and ask you to tell your worst fear.

On an unrelated note, I know for a fact that several people on this board hate heights which I find amusing considering what our favorite dream jester's pastime is.

First, SPIDERS. I'm so much an arachniphobe, I avoid any and all physical contact, so I can't always squish them! And when I do, it takes some major courage to clean up the mess! XD;;; Anyway, most nightmares I've had have involved spiders, really freaking huge ones that could outrun a cheetah and have fangs the size of my arm. @_@ And legs. Big long spindly... EEEEUGH! *shudders* (You can likely guess how much I'm looking forward to the JOD spider boss! LOL)
My second fear is losing people, like family and close friends. Whenever I dream about such things happening, I wake up with that dread still knotting my stomach. One nightmare was so bad, when I woke up, I realized I'd been crying in my sleep! It took me a good ten minutes to calm down.
This is why I love lucid dreaming so. Nightmares lose their sting when you can call on the red ideya! :3

1.) Always being alone. (This goes actually as far as going to a place I'm not use to without someone with me.)
2.) Heights (I'm not sure how this came to because I never used to be afraid of it.)
3.) People hating me just because or for no particular reason.
4.) The fact that I tend to be annoying and how it either scares people off or makes them hate me. (In other words how my down falls makes others hate me.)
5.) Not getting any where in my life because of my laziness/ inability to get a collage degree because of not having enough intelligence.
(I have a lot of talents, according to a lot of people, but my talents don't seem to get me where I want to be.)
6.) The fact that everyone does misinterpret me in some way or form.
(Like when I say something everyone thinks its totally opposite than what I mean which has always got me in sticky situations ect.)
7.) The fact that if something happens that I don't like I tend to run away from it so it doesn't happen again.
8.) The fact that sometimes I tend to know how or what a person is feeling or thinking.
(Some times I just rather not know.)
9.) Public toilets (More so if they are in a small area.)
~(Somewhat still adding on this this list. I have a hell of a lot of fears and yes I know that a good majority of them is ridiculous.)~

I also fear zombies and beings like them. Guess why I've never been able to play Resident Evil. Or how many times I've been stuck in a Zelda game because of the redead just being there. I've had at least one zombie-related nightmare, it was awful.
Related to the above: fear of a big worldwide catastrophe, like a meteor hitting earth or an epedemic killing everyone. Like Kori and Ekairi, I fear being alone.

I'm lonely already, but I'm afraid that I'll always be alone!
I'm afriad of being ignored and people hating me!
I'm afraid to be around big crowds of people!
I'm afriad of what people think of me!
and I'm also afraid of heights (falling) I'v had nightmares where I'm up in a really high beem or platform and then I just fall off of it, but I don't wake up before I hit the grond, I hit the ground and then wake up! This is kinda dangerous because I wake up with my whole body feeling severely in pain from colliding with the ground! And it hurts BADLY!! >_<

Just found this:
<a href="http://www.phobialist.com/" target="_blank">http://www.phobialist.com/</a>
Apparently I have Aichmophobia.
Actually having a list would help me list all my fears. XD
Acrophobia, Aeroacrophobia, Agoraphobia, Allodoxaphobia, Anginophobia, Anthropophobia, Anuptaphobia, Atelophobia, Athazagoraphobia, Atychiphobia, Autophobia, Bacteriophobia, Catagelophobia, Cherophobia <-Many have seen me express this one when their all like "Rainbows and Ponies and Sparkles and Stuff. O_O" which makes me shake each time I hear it even though I tend to like it myself. (Total love and fear relationship. >.<), Chorophobia, Claustrophobia, Cleithrophobia or Cleisiophobia, Cleptophobia, Coprophobia, Counterphobia, Cryophobia, Decidophobia, Didaskaleinophobia, Dinophobia, Dishabiliophobia, Doxophobia, Ecophobia, Enosiophobia or Enissophobia, Epistemophobia, Eremophobia, Ergasiophobia, Gephyrophobia or Gephydrophobia or Gephysrophobia, Glossophobia, Helminthophobia, Hobophobia <- one said he would run me over once..., Kakorrhaphiophobia, Kenophobia, Laliophobia or Lalophobia, Merinthophobia, Misophobia or Mysophobia, Obesophobia, Panthophobia, Paralipophobia, Parasitophobia, Patroiophobia, Pediculophobia <- ever since someone suggested something and I had a dream about it >.< (There is a particular type of parasite that is the exact same thing but found in the neither regions.), Pellagrophobia, Peniaphobia, Philemaphobia or Philematophobia, Philophobia, Phobophobia, Pnigophobia or Pnigerophobia, Ponophobia, Rhabdophobia, Scopophobia or Scoptophobia, Social Phobia <- although I encourage people to be a little more like that so that I can get over it., Soteriophobia, Tachophobia, Taeniophobia or Teniophobia, Tapinophobia, Tetanophobia <- something happened similar to this when I was eating a hotdog as a little kid except I some how got it to "unlock"., and Zelophobia.
....Pretty much Panophobia or Pantophobia
^ TRiPPY you can't get any more LOLtastic that that...
(Some of those might be repeating and if they are they aren't meant to be. Some I have more fear of than the other ect.)
On a side note:
Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words. <- LMAO that is hillarious. XD
And I heard, at one point of time, that TRiPPY has Mottephobia which is a common fear. One of my cats destroyed our kitchen because of one of those. (As in running away from it)

My fears are... out there X_X. Yay for having OCD.
It's too many to name for me >______<. I'll name them ONE DAY 8D.
I have a feeling that I might have OCD. X_X
I only know a few people that have that.
(I was diagnosed with Anxiety disorder in general but I think it might go slightly beyond that.)

For example, I get extremely nervous and uneasy in windowless rooms. It doesn't matter how big or small they are-- if I can't see windows or open doors, I start to panic. As a result I think it's more of cleithrophobia.
This would explain why 90% of my dreams involve huge, roomy buildings with tons of windows. However, it gives no logical explanation as to why I often dream of elevators (and using them) with no fear whatsoever. I actually get along very well with dream elevators. Uncanny.
Looking through the phobia list... I don't want to go pasting tons of these things to my name, but I do have normal-intensity cases of ankylophobia, anginophobia (both quite logical ones in my case), athazagoraphobia (Selph has this severely), atychiphobia, erotophobia, genophobia, gymnophobia, hadephobia, hamartophobia, homophobia, lockiophobia, meteorophobia (I've had enough dreams of 'em), and probably a ton more but I have no time to go looking right now. ^^;

I used to have a phobia for the dark, but I thankfully grew out of it. Had a few nightmares about it >_O Fear of dark is not good when you live up here. 5 pm and the sun has already set...

Entomophobia (fear of insects and my most intense one... yet strangely enough, I have a fondness for Tentomon, Wormmon, Scyther, Butterfree and Shino Aburame)
Arachnophobia (fear of spiders and is on the same level as my other one)
Bathophobia (the fear of depth, not baths silly)
Acrophobia (fear of heights)
Fears:
Failure
Not realizing myself
Dogs (grew out of it *pats elder sister's dog on the head*)
Sickeningly enough, I've had a nightmare in which I was faced with two phobias rather than one. It all revolves around falling from something, hitting the ocean and finally drowning. As for my fears, my dreams are mostly centered around trying to confront them (hardly ever plays out).

The first is, ironically, drowning. I love the water, but the idea of the deep ocean scares the crud out of me. You don't know what's down there, and drowning in deep water seems terrifying to me. I blame this fear on Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. I hate you, sewer level. Rot in oblivion.
The second is being nothing. This one is sorta general, though. I'm talking more of a literal nothing (trying to imagine myself not existing is really frightening), and metaphorical nothing (to my close friends).

Top three fears are Bats, Spiders, and Unstable Heights (not so much being up high, but the lingering feeling that I'm going to fall and the sudden stop shortly afterwards.)
I had a nightmare about two weeks ago that involved two of the three, which is what has convinced me to show up here and tell you all. Reala doesn't like me (or probably anyone for that matter) it seems. The dream was me walking along in an open field on a nice, sunny day. As I looked up to admire the clouds floating by, the sky grew dark and angry. Deep black cluds rolled in over my beautiful view and flashes of lightning ripped through the sky. I saw the outline of what appeared to be a person hovering in the sky nearby, and another flash of lightning illuminated his face. Of course it had to be Reala. What fun.
He lifted his left hand and swept it to his side, causing the earth around me to crumble, and leaving me standing on a teetering pillar of earth not more than two feet in diameter. I looked down and began to panic. I remember thinking I was going to die. I reached my hands up, pleading with him to stop this torture, but with another wave of his finger, my hands were wrenched behind my back and held fast. I remember seeing him point about halfway up the pillar on which I was standing, and as I looked down to see what he was pointing out, a swarm of spiders began making their way up the pillar. As they reached my feet I began outright flipping, and thrashed about for a few seconds before my movement threw me off balance and I fell over the edge of the pillar. I watched myself fall into the darkness beolw from what seemed to be the perspective that Reala may have had at the time, and as soon as I disappeared from sight, I was jarred awake somehow.
Like I said, Bats, Unstable Heights and Spiders. Not sure why there weren't any bats in that nightmare, but damn I am glad that they were left out.

Anyway, I'm kind of curious why you people fear the things you do. Obviously this it to those who might have an idea why. Sometimes it's hard to pin down.

...although, for how much I hate my own pain, I can torture characters as good as heck...

I fear ill health, uncontrolled pain, death, God and other supernatural beings that can be malevolent (if they exist), and parts of my own mind. I also hate what I fear. Anyone else notice that anger and fear seem to be linked? The things we fear seem to infuriate us with the power they have over us.

I totally agree with you on that. Rotting human corpses, walking or not (and I prefer not) scare the crap out of me. I wish there was a technical phobia term for it, but haven't been able to find one. I thought they had terms for just about any fear, like peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth.

My worst nightmares involve zombies. I hate them completely. I loathed them especially in college. My roomie would blast resident evil all night long right next to my bed. UHG! I thought drawing them in a funny way would get me "over" them. but even drawing them freaked me out. I just couldn't handle it.
My friends had me play card games, and read zombie survival manuals. (they all like zombies)
I still have nightmares about them.
and they make me ill.

What would you do if this happened to you when you're walking down the street at night?
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn4WwRmDigg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn4WwRmDigg</a>
I might jump from surprise but I'd probably be amused by it because it reminded me of Grim Fandango.
I've had friends say Shaun of the Dead helps with getting over a zombie fear. I just like the movie because I love zombies.

Bees, wasps, things that chase me, things that can sting or bite, strangers, the dark, the undead, being outnumbered, strange noises, blood, physical deformities, people that try to make me my friend when I don't know them, death, driving in a car, flying, strange neighborhoods, being alone, windowless rooms (not claustrophobic though), physical contact, sneaking around (being caught, can't play games like that), dark depths in water (even in a swimming pool), being in trouble, people being angry at me, and some other stuff.
When I'm alone, I sometimes talk to some voices that I make in my head for a bit. Call me paranoid? I probably have OCD and clinical depression too. :3
