IGN just updated their site with screenshots of a new witch cat boss and concept art of the other characters such as NiGHTS, Helen, William, Reala, the owl, and Wizeman.

I don't know. Those cat snakes are rather freaky themselves. They're smiling cat heads with snake bodies. It's enough to make me shudder. OoOoOo!

If you look at a couple other shots, you can see that from the front, it looks like a cat nose, but from the side its a big nasty witch nose. I think... >_O *Looks again*

Uh....what happened to Cerberus? Why are we getting another cat? So far it sounds like the spider will be the only real new and fresh boss. Well...the chameleon kinda was.....

Ah, I see what you mean. I just don't want Sonic Team to hold back, as if not to make them too scary, for kids or whatever. Just a small concern. Girania alone disproves this theory however.

I see what you mean. But at the same time, I think if they made something look too scary, it may not fit in that much with NiGHTS. The kids look real different, as it is. Not that i would mind a nice, freaky looking boss. XD

True, I mean, of course, the designs have to match the style of NiGHTS, it's not like you're gonna have Aragog ( http://www.exhibitor...ider_medium.jpg ), but there's plenty of ways to keep 'em nice 'n freaky.. eh, they're doin' all right, I gwess. 'Course we shouldn't make any judgements until we've actually battled the marens, too.

Also, maybe I should take back what I said in the above post. I forgot this is a remake, so all the boss are supposed to based off the originals I guess. This boss is pretty different from Clawz though. Not too bad really. Sill...was this Ceruberus or are there more bosses coming than I think?

Studying this boss level, i'm wondering how you fight it. This boss area has many things going in it, what with the snake-cats, those weird purple ring-things that look like PSO teleporters, the fact that the arena itself is triangular. So far, we've had two bosses revealed. Don and Girania. Three, if you include the Chameleon but we don't know how his level looks yet. Don plays like the Puffy boss and Girania plays like the Gillwing boss. This one seems to be replacing the Clawz boss in terms of looks and level design but i think it will play similar to how you had to defeat Gulpo. I certainly think those snake-cats are there to help you hit the boss, since the boss never seems to leave from it's centre spot...kinda like how Gulpo stayed in the middle of the boss area in his stage and you had to use the little fish on the outside to dash inwards to hit him.

As for bosses. Well, we still have space for another 2 ...so it could be Cerberus and the Spider. Reala and Wizeman might just be single bosses without a stage before them, or maybe Reala appears at the end of the BellBridge level and Wizeman is just a boss without a stage.

Also, thank god they released the artwork this time around. NiGHTS looks so cute in those sketches :3

It looks more to me like they're just there to hit you, but I guess it worked the same way with Gulpo and you had to get them to hit their own boss somehow. ^^' *still wants to MAUL Wizeman*

Imma seeing what you mean. Noting this is a rewrite, (not a sequel, poo) I'm expecting the 'new' bosses will operate sort of the same. Yeah I had a squee fest when I saw that piccy of Reala.....And Wizeman just looks like an old fart now. At least they're kepping SOME of the old characters, I give 'em credit for that, I just wish they hadn't done away with Claris and Elliot....they were the ORIGINAL NiGHTS' Angels. Still, I'm spazzed about the game coming out in my birthday month all the same. Yay, SEGA is still where I want to work. ^^

My theory is... its a GIANT MARBLE MAZE : D. No jokes.


^The arena has 3 handles around its sides


^NiGHTS can push and pull the handles, thus tilting the maze.

I figure, the way you beat the boss, is by manipulating the maze, whilst avoiding the rocketing Cat heads (yay for Clawz throwback) so that the dormant Cat Heads fall in the holes. Making it explode in awesome or something.


Oh. And feather mask NiGHTS is f*!*ing pretty.

Eeeeeeeh I like kitty!maren, NiGHTS looks pretty in his mask, I love seeing the concept art and... Reala's bat-tights doesn't look as awful, but damn he has a big torso. NiGHTS' expressions are cute, and it was interesting to see the other colour choices for Helen. Wizeman looks... I dunno, he somehow looked better in the CGI art ^^;

Talk about adorable, I love the cat boss! Replacement for Clawz I assume, same/similar face(s).

I got a toy as a cupcake topper during one Halloween in kindergarden that had a cat that looked almost exactly like this, shame it broke after I played with it so much, lol. Memories, I love it. I like that stained glass icon in the background, too.

The concept art is pretty neat to see. Reala looks a little odd in my opinion, but hey, it's concept art. I like the first coloration of Helen's costume best.
