NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams -releasedate, A-Life and online
24 October 2007

Confirming our previous report, SEGA confirmed a new European releasedate today for NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the Wii. The game will hit European storeshelves in January 2008.

SEGA also reveals their plans to reawaken the Artificial Life (A-Life) feature in NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, a feature much like Sonic Adventure's Chao Garden in which the player can capture, raise and combine the inhabitants of the world of Nightopia in their self-developed sandbox environment. Lastly, the before reported multiplayer mode is now confirmed to go online as well via Nintendo WiFi Connection.

The shop I reserved the game from said January, but I didn't trust them too much since they started out by saying it'd arrive in October

On an awesome note, you guys, my Digital Design teacher's husband is a beta tester for a lot of games. I showed her my NiGHTS Poster that I've made[will show later], and she recognized it! She's 96% sure that her husband is a US beta test for Journey of Dreams! I'm going to try and get in contact with him and see if I can coax out some info for you all. Stay tuned! <3

Hopefully raising Nightopians is gonna be fun.. I liked raising different Chao but I'd rather take the 'hog for a spin. At least Nightopians is more natural to NiGHTS's world as compared to Chao, which were kinda just inserted into the Sonicverse as perhaps a more experimental thing inspired by the original A life presented in NiD.

I don't know if this idea with the A-Life system is a good plan or a bad plan... I know that I had faaaar too much fun raising Chao in the SA series. Actually, in that right I guess it qualifies as a damn good idea (to me anyway).

The 'Pians will most definitely work better with the story than the Chao did. I agree that they were just randomly thrown in there. I can't wait for this game to come out ^.^

Glad to hear the A-life is definitely going to be in JoD; it added a lot to NiD.

I hope the multiplayer is something more than the repetitive versus mode in the original though D:

I knew they'd have A-Life back! Pians were almost like the experimental generation before Chao. Now they're using the Chao system for Pians? Whoa.. circle of life, anyone? XD

The online component just clicked. AWESOME!!! This game needs to come out now so I can stop waiting. The Pian garden with online too is going to rock hardcore. It's been a long time (Dreamcast days!) since I've gotten this excited over an upcoming Sega title.
