The same goes to if it comes with customisable characters.
I don't mind forums, but I would rather a community that I can actually visualize what's going on.
Something along the lines of.. ActiveWorlds.

I had to quit not only because of that, but every single quick chatter I talk to beg for my personal info.

I should know, my friend brought me into that...... That doesn't even cover the real problem, 99% of the game requires you to pay for a member's subscription. Wait to go Jagex, you don't even consider most of your players to be members.I hope you were. The graphics and the magic system are LAME
I've been looking for an better online community as well.
I've been looking at Trickster for a while now. It seems intriging, the visuals pawn other MMOs, and catgirls are a definite plus.

Hm, yeah... but I want the function to make my own home, with no need for real cash whatsoever.I should know, my friend brought me into that...... If you don't believe me, look at the Item Mall. There are plenty of good items, but the thick of them cost special points which cost real money.

Second Life.
You can earn In-Game money doing jobs for people, then use that to build a house, or you can buy pre-made ones. It's laggy as hell, and I no use it anymoar. But we've got some NiD Fans on there.

The items can be bought from the store by using real money, or from players that somehow value fake cash more than real cash. That's MMO economics for you. I don't think there's a perfect MMO where everything's free.Hm, yeah... but I want the function to make my own home, with no need for real cash whatsoever.

There's not really going to be a perfect one out there. EVERY SINGLE ONE has a company or some donation scheme behind it.
Although, I do suggest 'Trickster' if you're into MMORPGs. Me and Kyra-wolf use it every now and then. Very fun game.

One thng confuses me though, there's a download, then there's an option to simply join. How exactly does that work?

\o/ I have a NiGHTS group on SL! Just thought you'd like to know! SL's only laggy in some places, and you can camp around or do jobs to get in-game money. ^^ You can also be whatever you can think of, provided that you have enough L$[in-game money, called Lindens] to buy the avatar, or enough skill to build it yourself. ^^
And I am a proud member of it too <3!
Sorry I don't go on as much. SL is always laggy on my laptop TT_TT. And, my computer has been moar laggy then ever, so it's twice as hard to get on now TT_TT.

Now, if only I could fix this whole "version check fail" ordeal.
