Just played this in a game shop on the way home real quick.
LOVING DeadPool. He's got some seriously sweet moves, they totally under sell him in the trailers they've given us. His movelist has some real swift attacks in there. Plus, he's a laugh to use. I spend half my time just moonwalking away from the opponent.
Hsein-Ko is cool but slow, though i was expecting that. Guess i'm gonna need to get used to the slow pace but i love her fighting style.
The last character i chose was Ryu, for merely back-up purposes in case i wasn't good with either DeadPool or Hsein-Ko and needed someone more familiar on board. Fair to say though that i didn't use him once, lol.
Will be getting this game, yes indeed.

Got my game yesterday, plus Capcom has announced they're planning something to make it up to the 17% of us who got our pre-orders late

Damn...Jill looks like such utter sh!t and Shuma-Gorath is a returning character. Why are we paying for this BS again? I swear, the next few characters had better be damn good.

Here's how I voted.
Marvel
Moon Knight
Daredevil
Green Goblin
Capcom
Gene
Sigma
Edward Falcon
-edit-
Good god! Just these last couple days I tried taking this game online. Online mode is absolute ass! Lag even on 4 bar connections and that's assuming I can even get a match to begin with. Ninety percent of the time it fails to connect and half of THAT time it logs me out of Xbox live for some damned reason. And the ranked options suck too. Click search and cross your fingers. You can't even do custom searches and look through a list of results like in SF4. You fight a person with bad ping you're sh!t out of luck.
Way to drop the ball on the game's single most important mode Capcom. What the hell?

And now I think Jill is an even more pathetic character. She had to rip off the Bang Install from friggin' Blazblue, but without the music it's nothing but fail.
Shuma actually looks a'ight but I still think it's retarded people need to pay for a returning cast member.

I guess I'm also in the boat that is also kinda disappointed that now Jill doesn't make use of all the RE touches they gave her in MVC2. She seems so boring and conventional this way.
Otherwise Niitsuma's statement about characters doesn't bode too well.. did they seriously not plan for any other downloadable characters besides Jill and Shuma? If he wants Venom and Gambit in I don't get why they didn't allow for that possibility. They better be able to create a patch that enables more characters to be added to the game.

Niitsuma's interviews are such utter garbage. It's cold PR talk and pure BS at time. He just doesn't want to raise any hopes.

Heh, it's like what Ono does also then, it seems. Trolling the fans and whatnot. Otherwise Venom and Megaman X topped that Unity poll..

Update: Capcom has provided free copies of the BradyGames strategy guide to those of us with the late pre-order shipments (got my e-mail today). Looking forward to checking it out.

It's a solid guide. The strategy is a little vague but at least it offers some good basic strategies with characters as well as bread n' butter combos as well as actual frame data. Handy to be sure. Also written by credible people: actual known competitive fighters.

So then.. http://www.kineda.co...el-vs-capcom-3/
So, they brought Strider back.. I feel like MVC3 just came out, this crap pisses me off. Another $40? Really now. Dammit.

I'm rather pissed myself. I don't have a problem with the practice of releasing rebalanced fighters with added content but in this case it's too soon and it leaves me with the feeling that back in February I paid 60 dollars for a public beta and this was the game I should have been getting.

As a cheapskate with an inordinate amount of patience, I'm glad for an upgrade/price-drop.

I made a very long post about this over at OCR, but lets just say its business practices that are doing this. Most, if not all, Japanese game companies are in dire need of money, so pushing out something they know will sell while cancelling the "clutter" (recent cancellation of MML3) is in order.
I'm a little miffed too, but at least they're still making Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. That being said, I haven't played more than two rounds of MVC3, and I wasn't thrown back that much from it. Charging $40 for an upgrade is ridiculous, though.

And if you were wondering, yes... Galactus mode is stupidly easy...
Finger beam! finger beam! finger beam! tantrum fist, tantrum first, tantrum fist!
I haven't played much of it yet but so far I have no complaints about the changes...
