First of all: PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MOVE THIS. I WAS REALLY CONFUSED ABOUT WHERE I SHOULD POST IT. @.@

PAULA is a one-act, 45-minute play which I wrote and co-directed for my Advanced Playwriting class at my college. Students from the Acting classes read and acted it out.

Although the play never refers to NiGHTS at all specifically, and "PAULA" could essentially stand for any video game, movie, or book franchise, I wrote it with NiGHTS very much in mind. In fact, the name for Paula comes from a code name I've used for NiGHTS for a while. NiGHTS in my own middle-school-devised letter code is "PoHJVS", which I transformed into "Paula Vise".

My play idea takes the "product" of PAULA (or NiGHTS) through its creation, first incarnatioin and its effects, the reduction of Paula's company (death of the Dreamcast), confusion, anxiety over wanting and not wanting a sequel, the release of the sequel, its effects, and the uncertainty of the future. (I was writing this thing while the "Don't Forget NiGHTS" campaign was just getting started. Guess I'll have to re-write it now to include the "flag-bearer" triumph. XD)

GIANT AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is written as my idea of NiGHTS as a franchise and a fandom. These are only my thoughts and personal musings about it translated into dramatic work. I do not claim that this perception of it is right, or even close to right. My use of "real people" is as I say, not supposed to be actually representative of those people but the idea of those people. It's all VERY abstract. While you may faintly recognize the characters of "Mr. God" and "Voice", they are NOT meant to be these people. Also, I am one of the "new-born" fans, coming in after the release of JoD, so this is only my perception of what it may have been like before. Forgive me. ^^;

Now that that's over with:

I'm the girl who comes out at the beginning to give a preface. XD

Also, there is a little bit of objectionable content, so don't watch it if you are under 16.

And like I said, don't murder me for not having things right. I wrote this because I love the NiGHTS fandom so much. XD
