Yes, i'd also like to quickly reflect on what TRiPPY has said there. Not all of SEGA are bad. I know for a solid fact that the community team and members like Kevin Eva (AAUK) have been on our side with the whole ordeal. They always are. The people that call the shots though are higher up and they're the ones who keep making these stupid 'business choices'. Even if you worked in the company and actually had some priority chances are still slim as you would have a bunch of others sitting next to you that you would need to try and convince of doing something. Which is stupid because with companies like Capcom they don't need to be 'convincing' each other half the time, they're just more or less getting the good stuff on the table in the first place. Not saying Capcom have never messed up, far from it. But in comparison with SEGA, it seems Capcom look at what might please the fans first THEN figure out how to really make it sell. SEGA just looks for money symbols.
I will say that after hearing that the DLC is in SEGA's hands then this is mostly 95% certain that ASR is finished. You gotta just read interviews and all the news leading up to ASR's release that SUMO were the ones always talking about DLC. SUMO obviously wanted to do more.
I've said 95% because never say never. Perhaps someone in SEGA might click and do something about it. Though, as per usual with that company, chances are incredibly slim. So don't hold your breath.
But ...for what it's worth, keep this in your minds. This campaign physically got us a cameo. SUMO gave it to us on their own accord and know how much the character means to us. I bet next AllStar game that comes around we won't need to be doing this, they'll probably be pushing for NiGHTS to be in the main roster right off the bat. So, this could be a victory in the long run, not directly for ASR but for the future.
As for SUMO themselves, they've done a few other games before. You should check their website out here -->
Sumo DigitalI don't think they're totally dependant on SEGA, which is good. Show's they can hold their own. Plus, they're currently making a Doctor Who game this moment which is getting a bit of a buzz with that fan base. I'm pretty sure SUMO will grow from here on out, maybe even one day start making their own line of games.
SEGA should be worried about losing this company. It's been said before but i'll repeat it here - 'SUMO are more SEGA than SEGA themselves'.
