So I played through Frozen Bell earlier, had a normal run (actually a new record run); in Mare 1 I walked around as Elliot first to collect chips. However in the after-the-dream replay, something very curious happened, something that's never happened to me before. In the replay, it shows my actual run for a bit (as Elliot), but then it adds something new; instead of showing when I dualized with NiGHTS, it shows me bumping into the water barrier again (I did it previously), and getting zapped by the clock, and the Night Over screen appears! It kept my record score, didn't mess up otherwise, but it ended the replay with an invented game over.. has anyone experienced this before?

I've had a very similar experience with Mario Kart Wii... I had gotten a new record in a race and obtained first place... but when I viewed the replay it showed me bumping into a corner that went around, and I stayed in that corner continuing to bump into it leading to an endless replay...

Heh, weird.
Maybe the Alarm Egg wanted some revenge.. frustrated from lack of capture.

It happens quite a lot on my Saturn (then again it DOES act like a chimp a lot of the time). You'll be watching a replay then it'll change to a computer one for no reason. Not sure why.

Yeah, i've had this happen to me plenty of times in the past. I don't know what causes it. It seems to randomly happen.
I remember the first time it happened i had completed one of the levels and wanted to watch my replay for a bit rather than hurry on to the next level. I'm not the type to run around as the kids, usually opting to jump straight in and dualize with NiGHTS and that's what i had done during my run. The replay however showed Claris run up to the Ideya Palace and then change direction before running out of time and having the Egg Clock wake her up. I was confused by what i saw and wasn't sure if i had actually completed the level or not.
Weird stuff.

I know a bit how replays work - the game doesn't record a video of your play, because that would take too much memory; instead, it usually only records the controller inputs, and replicate them during the replay, recalculating every action and their consequences.
I'm not sure why it can mess up; maybe that can happen when some randomness is involved, or maybe the recording is imprecise; but if some values in the replay are not the same as during the play, then characters or items may behave differently at one point, but the game will not care and will keep on reading the recorded inputs, and the rest of the replay may be completely different.
Though I don't know why it would change direction completely. Weird.

Pretty strange.
I have to admit, I never watch the replays though.

Hm, I see, so it's not uncommon. Perhaps it's a wonder I've never experienced it before. Dunno if it matters, but most of the time I jump right into NiGHTS as well. Certainly dualizing eliminates the possibility of the clock doing anything at all.

And that's why it probably came to get you. I bet the clock was like "Man this sucka thinks he's slick. I'll show him." Then the replay comes and that clock is all like "KAPOW!!! Who's escaping now punk?"Hm, I see, so it's not uncommon. Perhaps it's a wonder I've never experienced it before. Dunno if it matters, but most of the time I jump right into NiGHTS as well. It happens to me 5/10 times when I play Nights, actually I agree with Kentilan, the same system is used to make demos that show up when you don't press start in the title screen. Maybe the game doesn't record the demo correctly.

That's kinda weird. That's never happened to me though, but it sounds pretty funky.
