Just from random observing, I noticed alot more pinks in the member list than blues lol. But just from being part of the community for a few years I noticed that there may be more females then males. You know its because we all want Reala, XD


Most of my guy friends believe this game to be very fruity. However, I got one buddy willing to try the game.

Actually, this game is the most addicting game I've ever played. The mood, the atmosphere, the music, and the COLORS really does for me as well. :P

I'm new to the forums by the way. Nice to be here.

Yes, I did find the game very appealing to the eye, very trippy...no pun intended :P

I am very much in love with the atmosphere with it, very original and welcoming for me. It puts me in a good mood because of the vibrant colors, considering I play alot of gloomy M rated games, there so fun when I'm pissed lol.

But back on topic, I wouldn't consider it fruity, what I think the turn off may be is the confusion with NiGHTS and how hes genderless because a first glance at him most may think hes a girl due to the eyelashes and colors, but I still say "he" I also think my opinion may have been altered by fanart, but for some reason I draw him and still think "he" when I look at him even though I suck at drawing guys and all I ever draw are females lol.

Im a straight male, but I love cute, trippy, colorful things, happy music, and all general instances of cute/squeeness and Im not ashamed to say it. It sets me apart and its my identity basically. People know me as "that catgirl loving, hyper energetic happy little squee thing" So naturally NiGHTS interested me greatly.
One certainly doesnt have to be gay to enjoy NiGHTS, just have to truly appreciate art and the light side of things. Not everything is apocalyptic war-torn hysteria, although the world might seem that way now. And not everything lighthearted and colorful is gay either.
And like the other person above said, I also draw females only. I just like to draw them more. you can be more creative with female designs and its more fun to draw curves for me.

For me, it boils down to this: Everyone loves a good story. It doesn't matter if the story is a movie, a book, a video game, a comic strip; it doesn't matter if someone is male, female, straight, gay, fat, petite, white, black, brown, yellow or retarded. Everybody loves a good story.

The reason why we are here, the reason why we love NiGHTS is because it has a good story. Not just the story it tells, but the story we make up for it. The little details and metaphors that we are left to interpret.

Bottom line: NiGHTS has a good story. You don't have to be of either gender to appreciate that.

Well, I doubt the majority of NiGHTS fans are both. :P

I'm a girl, obviously. But I know a guy that's not on these forums who's a NiGHTS fan. And I know another guy that says he played the game back when he had a Saturn.

Even if there is a majority on one side, I'll bet it's completely coincidental.

I'm male, and my wife and I are both big NiGHTS fans (I'm more into the gameplay, shes loves the art side of it).

I think there'll be a more even ratio of male:female NiGHTS fans than most games, but still slightly more male, just because of the culture. I dont think it helps having a cute game AND an androgynous lead (lol I added a wiki link to androgynous for the NiGHTS page ages ago)

Anyway, this article about gender in games and specifically NiGHTS is very interesting. I love the bit about flying as a metaphor for escaping gender and sexuality constraints (at the end of penultimate paragraph)

I r dood guy. in real life, it's pretty obvious if you know me. There have been occasions where the nice waitress says "what can I get for you two ladies..... erm aaand gentleman ^^""" " but that's cause my hair is past my shoulders. Other than that though, if you've known me for more than about two seconds, you have a definite answer. And I found out a few months ago that I'm not very discernable when it comes to the intarnets. no one can really tell ^_^
but anywho, yeah, I'm a male. I like kitties =3, but I also like total mayhem, and big guns (in both the violent sence, and the perverted sence ;) )
