I just had an idea for this topic after hearing my Dad say something I always noticed in JoD. All in all, this topic will be about what other people you know say about NiGHTS when they it see/experience it.
1 - My Dad - I was playing Bellbridge and he came into the room saying "hey, peter pan is on the wii now?"
2 - Friend who works at wal mart - I Bought JoD while she was working, and she replied "Oh, the game with the purple rabbit?"
3 - People who see my NiGHTS poster i printed - "Is that Sonic?" (seriously! and before i say its from sonic team)
So now my Dad refers to it as Peter Pan and my friend thinks it's about a flying rabbit (imagine if they were merged :S). SO what humorous things have the people around you assumed NiGHTS was before you jammed it down their throat he/she is an awe-inspiring dream jester?

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH I've had this happen LOTS and LOTS of times.
my mom-she caught me playing NiGHTS one time, and said these exact words "What's that, a goat? Wait a sec, that's not a goat, what is that thing?!"
my friend-saw one of my drawings of NiGHTS and said "Oh, so that's the thing that you rant about all the time. What did you call it? Flights?"
And my sister thought that NiGHTS stood for something, and calls him Never isle Great Heart Trend Sassy. LOLZERS

I was drawing NiGHTS during a free band class when a girl in my section (clarinet) came to say hi and looked over my shoulder. "What is that? Is that an alien?" I laughed and said no. Then, to my surprise and pleasure, she guessed that he was a jester. "Yes! You actually guessed it!" "Oh. Okay." She seemed a little surprised she'd gotten it right.
Most other people didn't even try guessing...I think I remember someone calling him an elf. XD NiGHTS has been assimilated into Santa's ranks.

My dad usually watches me play NiGHTS and he calls him Sonic all the time.
And me and my friends call him Super Gay! all the time. (Exclamation point included) Just because, in Sega Superstars, he says "Super game!" and it sounds like he's saying super gay.

Nobody even knows of NiGHTS existence where I am ._. Nobody has ever made any mention of it. When I was younger I had no idea who or what NiGHTS was, I only saw an ad once in an Archie comic, and from then on I just called that mystical creature NiGHTS because I didn't know what its name was. Lo-and-behold, that was its actual name XD

I write poetry and lyrics (although they're not very good T__T) and comedy movies. I love the Dreamcast podcast that DiGi and TRiPPY put on. I also enjoy thinking outside the box. I'm what is known as a Meathead. I can laugh at myself, think outside the box, and smile. Meatheads are smarter than your average Joe, with much more common sense and the rare ability to find creative solutions to problems. My idol is a man named Jimmy Dolittle. Look him up ^.~

They usually call him NiGHTS around me -- I've drilled that into them from talking about it too much, I guess.
Although I've heard several funny comments -- one of which was 'TiGHTS'.
Also, I led one of them to this site, once, and after reading some of DiGi's comments, she started calling him 'Purp'.
It caught on.

The first time I saw NiGHTS, that's exactly what I though it was.My brother and my cousin used to call him "the flying suit." They played the game, they just didn't really get into the story
My brother though NiGHTS was female, and my Mom mistook him for Sonic, but seemed to think it looked odd for Sonic.

My brother and I used to refer to him as something simple like...: Jester, or The Wise Jester. This was before we'd ever even HEARD of NiGHTS. The names Jester and The Wise Jester refer to SADX's Casniopolis Zone on the NiGHTS pinball table. I believe my first words when I saw him were, "...WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING!?" And because we always refered to him as Jester, we thought he was a he.
As for my friends, one says NiGHTS is a hermaphrodyte(because he's genderless) and the other says he's androgynous or gay.

On a side note my 11 year old cousin was so shocked when I told her I like the NiGHTS game from the 1990's better than JoD because she thought NiGHTS was something brand spankin new. Kids lol.

The only person who has really said anything about NiGHTS in that way is the singer in my band. He called NiGHTS one of the most @*@%^ looking video game characters he'd ever seen. I nearly beat the crap out of him for that.

my sister really hates him because she "dosen't get it" and says It (me playing the game) keeps her from watching 'forensic files' on fridays. She also hates it when I play DREAMS DREAMS. My friends put up with it, but my friend 'H' thinks I'm a little to obsessed

NiGHTS has been call a "Girly Easter Bunny" a few times! I've also gotten "That wierd puple ram thingy" Who knew he looked so much like an animal! 
One of my friends was convinced that Reala was a change of clothes for NiGHTS, then we played two-player mode and all was clear!
This might be a tad off topic, but another friend thought that Robotnik in Christmas NiGHTS was Santa, and had no idea why I was playing a game where you beat up santa claus.

It's quite sad to see a Sega legend being labelled as "Gay" just because of what he/she/it looks like. I once had a NiGHTS display pic on my MSN and my brother told me to change it because it looks pretty gay. I thought "don't judge a book by it's cover". My friend calls him Knights, but I keep correcting him to NiGHTS. My twin brother's ex girlfriend is the only person I know who has heard of NiGHTS and she's even played the Saturn original. I have the PS2 remake I got of PlayAsia, myself (yep, gotta love modchips), but I have played the Saturn original.

But i knew NiGHTS looked familiar and was like....wait that was the purple guy in the casino in Sonic Adventure!(which i used to be obssesed with when I was younger). When I got the first game in the mail, my sister goes, "is that the purple clown thing in the casino in sonic?" and i was like heh...that wouldd be it.

LOL I was drawing NiGHTS in class and my teacher leaned over and said to me: "She's beautiful! I like her bell bottoms!" To which I burst out laughing hystareclly. (I can't spell!)
