I wasn't around for Flanic, but o do I know the tale. *cough* No, I think he was just some stupid n00b that claimed to have unlocked some kind of scratch-and-sniff level NiGHTS code or some other unbelievable crap. (I just made that crap up. XD)

From the past irc we had with the old site, I was one of the Ops, so if you'd like, I'll perform the task again, unless you feel someone else is more qualified for the task.

I already promoted Muraa and Roam to Op status, since it seems they are in there most often, cover the two major active timezones and most importantly seem to be fairly solid responsibility-wise. For the moment, I reckon three Ops is more than enough for the amount of people that use the room. If the userbase start to expand, other Ops will be elected though.

Sairus has a Java entrance set up again in one of his posts, so the program may not be needed. Otherwise, if anyone has trouble connecting to iRC, or questions in general. PM either Sairus, myself, or Muraa. I'm usually in there or around the board fairly often, can't speak for the others.

Yup, Sai is also always generally floating around (despite an apperant recent absense, I'm always watching you people O_O) and will return to full activity next week.
And for those who just wish to enter the room without the use of a chat program, head over to www.gamesurge.net and click the 'chat' button up on the top right. Wait for the chat window to load, then type '/j #nightsintodreams' and you should be with us in moments!
A couple of people were having problems joining the room through that route recently for some reason, but I think those issues have been resolved.

I was suffering the same problem, like I told you, with the java applet. It works now 8D!

Wasn't the site/forum downtime horrible? Did it not ache to know that you were so close to discussing NiGHTS gossip, but still seperated by the uncrossible gorge of a shut down server?
Think! You could have avoided this fate by logging into the chatroom! The room is hosted seperatly from the main site, so even if NiD.com goes down, we're always there, hail, rain or shine. So go on~ At least bookmark http://www.gamesurge.net/chat in case the site disappears again! XD

I found a nifty way to join the IRC with the Firefox Browser. If you do have Firefox look for the extension called Chatzilla, it's completely free.

Anyway, now that I know the IRC will be populated I might as well join in the festivities.

Only cool people hang in the IRC.

Seriously though, I've been in there a few times and I must say that the guys in there are fun and friendly. Plus, you might get to meet me if you come ;D

well, i thought it only fair to bump this because i use the IRC channel most of the time now. it's a good place, a little slow at times, but there's always at least one person there to talk to.

in my experience, you only need two moderators who even know a pinch of how to run a channel properly and it works fine; it's the mods who don't do anything, or abuse their power, that cause 90% of the trouble - or at least don't do anything about it.

and oddly, so far, that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Fair warning before you enter. The room tends to have strong language and strong subjects from time to time, you've been warned. With that, comes the rules.

1. iRC is NOT a gossip house, kids.
2. While the room isn't connected to the boards, it cannot be used to make fun of or insult members there.
3. Don't be super serious in there. Sarcasm is rampant, we play around a lot, so take it all with a grain of salt.
4. The Ops of iRC and mods of the board are COMPLETELY separate. If you're banned from iRC, don't go whining to them.
5. All decisions are usually final. We don't exactly like having to be mean, so play nice, yes?
6. NO SPAM PLEASE.

Also, please note these rules are subject to change, be added, so on.. If you have any questions or concerns, or need a bit of help on entering, PM me or Purgatory.

Additionally, I'll put a link back to the topic in the room subject, until we can manage something better for the rules to pop up in the room.

Just use your common sense on this one, guys, and give others a chance to finish the game!

I really like the chat room, It's funny and everyone is joking around and being happy! ^_^

I thought it was pretty cool up until I started having a bit too much fun and a few of you got a bit angry with me. I admit I did go a little over the top but I didn't think it that much of an issue since, well, chatrooms are chatrooms. They're not forums where you have to be very considerate when you post. At least I didn't spam the whole place with random obscenities. Okay, I did a Sonic 3 & Knuckles reenactment, but you guys seemed to enjoy it.

Just come off it, it isn't a big deal. You aren't banned and you aren't warned. Just.. please note when we say you're going over the top that it might not be fun anymore. Being considerate shouldn't have to be a rule, it should be something that is normally in mind where you visit anywhere, be it a forum, a chat room, a friend's house, what have you. Nobody likes spam. XD
Yeah, its just a chat room, but a forum is also just a forum. Each has their own set of rules and people in charge of it. There's nothing wrong with having fun but... Did you look back at your own log..? You DID go a little crazy there... :/ But either way, what's done is done, its over now and nobody's pissed off about anything. But anyway, don't worry about it. Go back whenever you want to go again.

On that note, I add another rule:
