This is my second poll(sorry if my first pissed off some people)I thought about persona masks in Jod did any of you used them at all except for the dolphin where you had to because it was automatic. Rocket I only used in the final boss and Dragon hardly at all so what do you think(please tell me if this is an old topic thank you)

I watched someone on youtube who recorded how they played nights JOD and they made A rankings on all boards without using any persona magic except when it comes to underwater. It seems like the dolphin persona is the only one that was necessary becuase of going under water.

(all boards when Nights is playable I mean)

Writing, drawing, art in any way, shape, or form, hard rock music, dancing wildly even though I can't dance for crap. I write poetry and lyrics (although they're not very good T__T) and comedy movies. I love the Dreamcast podcast that DiGi and TRiPPY put on. I also enjoy thinking outside the box. I'm what is known as a Meathead. I can laugh at myself, think outside the box, and smile. Meatheads are smarter than your average Joe, with much more common sense and the rare ability to find creative solutions to problems. My idol is a man named Jimmy Dolittle. Look him up ^.~
Rocket was only used in the final boss, and the dragon could only BE used in the final boss on your first playthrough. Basically, everything but the dolphin was pretty damn useless, and I think I could have gotten through the game (except for that one level in Will's place there I hope it's Lost Park I know it was something Park whatever but you know the level I'm talking about that one where you bust the bombs) using no personas at all.

They weren't utilized all that well, I'll agree. There are instances within certain levels (in my mind, notably the Crystal Castle) where using the Rocket will help you link better, but even when you are Rocket you'll end up needing only one boost sometimes before you need to change back (I'm thinking of a few levels here). There are too few areas where using Dragon gives you much use (1st Mare of Memory Forest being one of the most noted ones). Dolphin is merely for show, since there ain't much you can do with it outside water anyway. And underwater it's automatic. It's a neat concept, but it would help if they were a bit more useful. Like, for Dragon, instead of preventing us from looping at all, why not automatically make a giant loop? That would have made Dragon a lot more useful in missions like Fluffy Catch and even fighting Chamelan.

I voted not sure, because I have a theory on why NiGHTS might need them:

In between the first and second games, NiGHTS could shape-shift at full will, but maybe right before JOD when Wizeman came back, he decided to weaken NiGHTS somehow to prevent another defeat. This effected his/her ability to take certain shapes, thus he/she may need the Persona masks to take some, but not all, forms.

Game mechanic-wise, it was unnecessary, but it could have been utilized in a better way. I like your theory, BrittneytheDreamer, since it does tie in the Persona masks with importance to the story. If only SEGA had been as thoughtful in this regard. Ah well, they are fun to use, when you remember they exist.
