in the NiD soundtrack its "Paternal Hone" the word hone means: to bring something to a state of increased intensity, excellence, or completion, especially over a period of time.

Paternal Horn is about the feelings of fondness towards ones father, it's about Claris' dad. Horn as in instrument and Paternal as in parently.

That would be so, however since that time the official soundtrack now lists the song as "Paternal Horn". While hone is indeed a word, it was a typo likely reflecting a Japanese pronounciation.

That's my guess, it's just that Claris's dad figures into her story approximately 0 percent. Otherwise it just makes me think of giant floating trumpets..

Horn could just be the fact that it's music...I don't remember if there's a horn in the tune or not, though. I suppose horns are one of the more masculine of instruments...

Depends on the kind of parent. I mean, my dad's pretty much a work-a-holic who likes to play golf, so the music wouldn't fit him at all. Claris' dad on the other hand might be more of a happy-go-lucky type, at least if we're going by the music. I feel like I'm overanalyzing things XD

Sigmund Freud was ALL ABOUT the little girls being in love with their fathers and desiring a penis (not in THAT way). As I am not a woman and it is a subject which many ladies are offended by in psychology I make no claims about this hypothesis having any validity!
Anyway, I can see the song fitting with an idealized (and possibly unconscious) view of a father rather than being based on the actual man.

They explain the meaning of the title for each song, but it's all in japanese.
But it does say that the level represents Claris's father image, and the horn refers to the one used in the song.
