After reading the other topic about how you found my site, I'm curious, how long have you guys been around here for? I know a lot of you were lurkers then joined the forums afterwards, or some of you are quite new visitors. How long roughly have you been visiting this site for?

Sometimes i stop and think 'wow time flies'. Waaaaay too fast. Not complaining though, I'm just amazed daily that fans are still willing to stick around so long, myself included.

I hope JoD causes the same sort of sticking power for the new peoples.

I think I started to lurk after you announced that you had brought it, which means... hm, sometime in 2004? I know I joined the old forums that year.

I knew of this website's existence for a while and visited once in a blue moon because "this NiGHTS thing sounds pretty interesting" but the interest never quite stuck until I was able to experience it through JoD. Upon JoD's US release, I begun visiting the site daily and joined the forums...*looks at profile* ...January 23th, three days before my birthday.

I hope JoD causes the same sort of sticking power for the new peoples.

If everything keeps going at the rate it is, this will be my case. ...except I can't help but feel that some people have this "it's so godawful I wish it never existed" stigma which is pretty much saying "I wish NARSi wasn't here", even though they're probably not really thinking it...

That is not to say that I don't feel welcome here--but rather, that I feel less welcome than others.

I think i bought the .com in 2001/2 because i'd just gotten home from America. O_o I can't believe it's 2008 already, it makes me realise how long ago 1996 was!

As for JoD making people less welcome, it's the nature of most fans to find new things annoying and not up to their standards, i mean even big selling games like GTA4 and Halo3 have people complaining. I think it just seems to stagnate more because in comparision to these other games our physical fanbase is small. It's sort of like with the Sonic fanbase theres the 2d era people and the 3d era folks. At least we've got the sensibility to co-exist without going for eachothers throats lol ^^; I consider myself a fan of both because they are from the same vein and the same idea. Different decade but still NiGHTS.
JoD has given me a lot to chew on as a site admin for planning what to do to satisfy all fans. It's a tough thing to juggle sometimes because my personal opinions arent allowed to dictate the way the site swings.

I'm very happy JoD fans can come here and get involved with us crusty old folk who do nothing but moan about the old days :D

BACK IN MY DAY REALA WAS THE SIZE OF 3 FIRETRUCKS AND I'D WALK TO SCHOOL WITH PAPER SHOES! 18 MILES A DAY!

I try to be as in-between as someone without a Saturn could possibly be. Thanks to TRAViS I was able to get my hands on the real deal and experience NiD in person just last week. I think this website as a whole isn't prejudice to one game over the other, because this website is not about the game...it's about the idea. As I've said to outsiders: "It's not a game, it's a phenomenon."

I'm very happy JoD fans can come here and get involved with us crusty old folk who do nothing but moan about the old days :D

I like listening to people moan, lol.

That's pretty true actually, I've always wanted this place to be less of an information site and more of a place NiGHTS fans of every type could just come and be happy being a fan without having to be good at playing it or whatever. I've been tacking bits on as i go along (and still have TONS to add). I hope i never run out of things to add or fans with enthusiasm to talk to.

There again, NiGHTS (both NiD and JoD) seem to be personal games to the player, so I'm waging a lot of fans who don't even use the internet are madhappy about the games but express it in personal ways that don't involve other people.

I wish there was some sort of amazing miracle way of finding out just how many NiGHTS fans exist without counting on websites, internet or games sales etc. I always see people nostalgic over it.

I think I discovered the site inadvertently while checking for JoD information.. (the vagueness of my recollection is why I didn't post in the other thread) then I realized the nature of the site and registered. So, I joined not long after discovering it to begin with, I reckon..

I discovered the NiD site about a year before I knew the forum was ever here! I remember reading WTAHM, and thinking, woah.... amazing. I like that writing, it reminds me of some of my stuff.
Then I played NiD, and was hooked. ^^
i discover the forums a bit later and have been hooked since! Though I did vanish after JoD crushed me for a teensy bit. I just lost intrest after I beat the game, but dear muse TORiAS was always there ( He used to be a she) Yelling at me to get my ass back to the forum, so here I am!

I'm pretty sure that I joined in 2004, on the old site... i cant really remember clearly... but I'm pretty certain it was around that year...

I'm still kinda active... I still make nights-related things, just very slowly...
I visit frequently... I'm just very quiet, because I don't want to say anything I may regret later... that and I often don't know what to say...

I've been a fan for... almost two years. Though I wasn't able to play the game until a looooooooong time after I found the site. I think it's a fun game, good for killing time, but I like the site and all the stuff here more than the actual game.

I first came here back when the site was still organized by ideya color...but I really have no clue. I'd guess two-three years, but I didn't come here often till JoD was announced, knowing it'd spark up some action on these boards, haha.

I started to visit the main site some times after JoD was announced, because the site had exclusive information.
I started to visit the forum a few days after playing JoD, because I became obsessed with that game and I wanted to see people talk about it.
Then I joined... 16 days ago.

Two years - or ever since October/November of 2006, which was not too long after I finally remembered to search for "NiGHTS Into Dreams..." after seeing the game in a pile of old Saturn stuff at the flea market. *should've bought it then and there, but nooo.. had to order a bookless one from Amazon*

Nid.com - I've been around since it opened, minus a little vacation. But I think the first time I visited any version of your webpage was when you showed up at Arcana or on Alaer's site way back in the 90s x_x

Hmm. I do remember first visiting the .com in March 2007 after the JoD rumors peaked my interest in the original. I just kinda poked around the main page a lot getting the updates once a month or so (but man were they worth the wait each time) until I took it upon me to join the forums in September of last year. In summary I've been active for 10 months. And I do read the forums daily, if not hourly >_>. Posting is another story.

Jeez, it hasn't even been a year yet? It feels like so long ago...

Speaking of, for how many unregistered visitors we get (Google.com on the active user list, I assume), I'm shocked this place hasn't been booming with new faces moreso than ever...

not very long really. SOmehow I missed this site for many years. I think I came across it several years back but never signed up.
I guess I had sort of put NiGHTS in the back of my mind as as game I wasnt likely to ever play again since I didnt have a Saturn and didnt really have the means to get one for a long time. Of course, once the Wii came along and NJOd was announced I got bit HARD by the niGHTS fever all over again and especially since I could now afford both a wii and a Saturn. And now I have both, and all three games :)

ah boy... how long has it been? hmmmmmm... let's see... I decided to look into NiGHTS after my Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast broke... after that I got SA2 battle and got curious... that happened almost a year after SA2 battle was released... which was... *looking up* Febuary of 2002... SO I got the game around the time of 2003 and discovered the Site a few days later... then on I studied NiGHTS for a loooong time talking about a game I never played... of course I only recently joined the site not even a year ago... why?... I cannot say... I looked at that join the forums button for awhile but never did it...
OH YA I was spendin alot of my time looking through all the artwork on the site... geez you guys are prodigies...

I've been a NiGHTS fan since the original game was first released. How long I've been on the forums is a different story.

I'm a little hazy on the details, but I first learned about the site around late 2002 or 2003. I wasn't to big into message boards yet, but eventually I registered. The old forums went under about six or seven months later. I periodically checked the site hoping for updates until one magical day the site rose from the ashes in all its shiny new glory. :( I promptly re-registered on the forums really early on and have tried to contribute in whatever ways I can. So far that hasn't amounted to much other that me talking a lot and making a couple idiotic (but somewhat humorous) audio parodies. I just really like the community here. Pretty cool people on the whole.

Well I had only found this site when I went wild and crazy because of the JoD news I had found out. I can't believe it took me this long to find a site that was in plain view. All I had to do was type "nightsintodreams.com" I had been looking for the Dreams Dreams mp3 for so long that I totally forgot to even look up more info on the game, NiD, itself. Had I done that I would have been here a lot faster.

So to just make this short I didn't lurk. As soon as I found this place I joined the forums. It was all like "Finally a place on the web where I belong." I've been a fan since I played Christmas NiGHTS btw.

If I didn't keep finding Neverwinter Nights in google searches I would usually end up on this site:

I knew of ye old NiD.com since it was still being made. I bookmarked it and visited it reguarly.

I'd say I found it... err... what year is it? 2008 now? So... 2004.

I never joined the forums since I was a wee boi, but I held onto it and joined the Oekaki 3 years later. That taught me that the arms ARE AT THE SHOULDERS; NOT THE CHEST

Jesus Christ; I don't know how I forgot that. When was the last time that I looked at a mirror O_O? I'm such a ditz xD;.
But, yeah, I just lurked and then I joined the Oekaki until I got tired of drawing my art (officially called 'fail'), then I joined the forums later.

But, if you wanna be technical, I lurk here like this is 4chan. So I check like every other month.
More like every other week.

I'm not much of a NiGHTS fan anymore.
I don't know what's happening on this site anymore D:. I need to

I came across it a few times back in 2003 when I finally managed to buy the sega saturn game as it was one of my first internet buys along with Sonic Adventure 2 and some other games. :)

At the time I was quite young and didn't really know about forums let alone caring to join them so that was it until the new game was announced. I went looking for more info ion it and google gave me the page set up with news for it here. :)

I then finally joined a few days after my birthday in December last year and the rest is history...

*counts on fingers* I would say I was a fan for about 3-4 years. A bit in 2004 maybe, or maybe the middle of 2005.

I was there a year (about) before the old forums closed. So around there.
