We all listen to songs, and sometimes will think "Hey! That reminds me of so- and- so!" So, with all the wide varieties of music, which song (or set of lyrics) reminds you of the game NiGHTS into Dreams, the characters, or any of your interpritations/theories of it. I'd like you to put up the song and the reasons why it reminds you of what it reminds you of.
I figured this would be an alright topic, considering NiGHTS is really up to the player...
I'll go first!
This song reminds me of my interpritations of Reala and NiGHTS relationship before and after the game.

[1] This part would remind me of NiGHTS' feelings when she find's out/disagrees with Wizeman's plans.
And what may have happened if she were to confide in Reala with her feelings.

[2] Would remind me of Reala's feelings if NiGHTS were to confide in him. More like, putting a job before loved one's. I could just see him informing Wizeman, despite his feelings for NiGHTS.

[3] I can feel would be how Reala would be feeling after generally disowning NiGHTS.

[4] This would remind me of the scene where they fight in the game. He fought despite his connections to NiGHTS.
He felt tortured by the directions of Wizeman. "Built a wall of Silence" Instead of talking with NiGHTS he just kinda disowns her, and then the "THERE IS NO NIGHT'S" thing :0

[5] This part would probably remind me of NiGHTS intentions when it came to Reala.

I can't be the only one who gets these thoughts when listening to music, so go ahead and share them!

Skullflower by The Sounds of Animals Fighting reminds me of NiGHTS a bit. I attribute this to its composition more than anything else. It has a very transcendent, dreamy sound about it. There is however this one verse which I can interpret in a way that has relevance to the game.

This whole verse makes me think of the beginning of the game when Claris and Elliot are having nightmares because they are full of uncertainty and have lost their courage in the fear caused by it.

Imaginary by Evanescence is pretty obvious. Not like you guys don't already know. The first time I heard it I thought about NiGHTS and The Neverending Story. I don't know if I really need to go into great detail about this. Just read the lyrics and you will understand.

The alarm clock screming monster makes me think instantly of the Egg clock. lol The song really has a gloomy feel to it though. The verse about a place to escape really reminds me of the confrontation my foster mom and I always got into. I played games a lot and day dreamed because I couldn't stand reality. But she always hated it when I did that. I do need to pay attention to reality. But dreaming is what keeps me sane sometimes.

I dunno, it always seems like NiGHTS speaking... mostly the first verse. And the trapped thing... Meh. It's not perfect, it's mostly just the general theme I suppose XD Also, like yami I say Imaginary. It always seems like a dreamer singing about it to me...

Also, does typing NiGHTS automatically do it? o_o oooh it does. Weird, but it made me giggle. XD

Yea, Imaginary also reminds me of NiD, especially the "Purple skies" part. It also brings back memories, of my first day of school (I woke up 5:something am... damn...) and was listening to Imaginary in my Mp3. I opened the windows and the skies were really purple. I've saw red skies, silver skies, blue skies, orange skies, but not PURPLE skies o_o''

I dont know the lyrics (its Japanese) but "the Dream Will not die" from the game Tales of Phantasia is a very energetic happy song that would fit well with NiGHTS.

Pachelbel's Cannon always reminds me of Christmas NID as does Carol of the Bells.

But the earth wind and fire song "sing a song" always reminds me of claris XD

"Syunikiss" By Malice Mizer reminds me so much of NiGHTS and Reala in some sort of inner termoil or even a fight to the death. Everytime I hear it i just see images of the two of them going at it with each other, each wanting the other to join their side of good or of evil. *shall one day draw a picture derived from this song*

There's this one song in particular that REALLY reminds me of NiGHTS.

I forget what it's called, but it goes something like

The song "Rebellion (Lies)" by The Arcade Fire makes me think of NiGHTS but also just about dreams in general... it's a song about rebelling against the lies people tell you by living out your dreams. That people tell you lies, that you'll die, that it's bad for you, scare stories to stop you doing it, that it's weak to do yet the singer keeps doing it (despite seeing it as a "misbehaviour"). The song can also be interpreted as being about the guilt of sexuality which sorta adds another level to it... this is just the first three stanza give an impression of what it's like~

Arcade Fire an an awesome AWESOME GENIUS band please god if you only listen to one group for the rest of your life make it these guys. They're lyrics are so touching and multilayered, more like poems than songs - a number of times I've been listening to their music and the meaning has just suddenly "clicked" in place - I've never ever had that with any other type of music. All their stuff is about the weird wonderful scariness of growing up... I'm sure that every person who listens to their music will hear at least one song that seems to chronicle some point in their lives... Listen to theeemmm noooooow... XD

The lyrics of "Everywhere" by Michelle Branch make me think of Claris and how she might fondly think of NiGHTS and her experience after the dream. I like to imagine this is a song that she would be inspired to write and perform.

Actually the song "Emo Kid" by Adam and Andrew reminds me of a nerdy reala lol just google the name and you can find the lyrics.

The lyrics for "No Reins On Me" by Little River Band reminds me of what how NiGHTS feels about his past relationship with Reala and Wizeman:

This song reminds me of how Dreamers have nightmares, and how NiGHTS is always there to help out and make things seem better, even when it's completely hopeless.

That song just makes me get up and dance, I love it so much, and the lyrics help too. Just listen to it, all the 90's eurodance junkies (other than me) should love this song.

Nights in White Satin. And Late Lament that comes after that. I think some other songs in the album Days of Future Passed.
Nights in White Satin reminds me of him because.. well, Nights! And the poem Late Lament, at least the "Cold Hearted orb that rules the night" part.
The album Octave also reminds me of NiGHTS.

I meant to post in this topic the other day, but didn't. ^^; Anyway...I have two songs that remind me of NiGHTS. They are:

Requiem for a Dream
I can't remember who it's by, but it's the theme for a movie of the same name, I believe. There's no lyrics, but the music just reminds me of NiGHTS...perhaps a sort of boss battle. I've said that in a another topic before, but no harm in repeating it.


Eiffel 65 - King of Lullaby
Lyrics are as follows. All of the lyrics remind of NiGHTS, and I think it's a really beautiful, slow slong. I suggest looking it up for a listen - it makes quite a change from "I'm blue, da ba dee da ba die"! XD

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a good song to use in an AMV for NiGHTS and Reala. I'm trying to find one to use for Reala's perspective, like with a feeling of betrayal (because that's probably how he felt) or something to the effect. I'm asking here because everyone has such good ideas for songs with feelings for NiGHTS =]

What I'll do is listen to my Ipod or some suggested songs from my friends and apply them to various NiD/NJoD characters (based on the character personalities that the fanfiction.net community set up), turning the task into a sort of game. Strangely enough, Most of the songs on my Ipod are Jackle themed!

Anyways, A good song for a NiGHTS and Reala AMV would be "Saving Me" by Nickelback (listen to the lyrics, the first verse is NiGHTS feeling trapped both metaphorically and literally in the ideya palace, the second is Reala redeeming himself after Wiseman's defeat). Or, if it's an AMV promoting A NiGHTS and Reala pairing (as a couple) a good song would be 'Love Letter' By Parquets.

EDIT: To elaborate on the 'Love Letter' song, it would be a cute but short way to summarize a relationship between them - NiGHTS being shy or something, and Reala being relatively clueless.

EDIT 2: Another song!'Helena' by My Chemical Romance. In a way, NiGHTS "died". Not in a physical sense, but in a emotional sense towards the other Nightmaren (especially Reala), considering they were her family.

Okay. Is anyone reminded of Elliot and Claris when listening to "Get cha' head in the game" from super - popular High School Musical? I mean, it's a guy who loves to play basketball who's singing about a girl who loves to sing. Maybe HSM was inspired by NiD.

lol, I refuse to watch anything High School Musical voluntarily. But unless the kid has blue hair, I'd say it's a long shot

I know everyone hates HSM. I hate it myself, and the only reason why I was listening to the soundtrack was because I was in a state of SEVERE MUSIC DEPRIVATION and was about to die of boredom.

I agree, the "Getcha Head in the Game" does remind me of Elliot too.
