What do you think is the stupidest reason to get a night over in the game? I think losing at that bubble collecting minigame in Helen's game is crappy reason to bring the game to the halt. How does losing a game of beach volley ball with Nightopians give Wizeman the power to take over the world?

Wizeman has nothing to do with it.
You can't dream forever and anything in the real world can wake you up, taking up time in the dream world could be the same as real time, taking your time on a mission could mean your coming closer to your alarm waking you up or getting overly frustrated in a dream can cause you to wake up (just like the initial shock of a nightmare)
If the children are struggling to comprehend there dreams they could suffer from anxiety which can lead to stimulation in the brain which can result in.... waking up.

Yeah, Wizeman isn't a part of that.
Just like any other game, you can lose at it for not doing the task handed to you. It just says "night over" instead of "game over". If you don't pass a level, again, just like any other game, you can't progress to the next. Simple as that.
As for me, I can't think of a stupid reason for a Night Over.

Um, sometimes I'll be playing the original NiGHTS as Claris or Elliot and get hit by the alarm-clock-egg due to me being careless?

Actually, when I first played Nights into Dreams I had no idea what it was or what I was supposed to do. I walked around the stage until I saw the awakener and I thought to myself what's that clock doing with a searchlight attached? (walks over to it) What? It killed me!

I think the only stupid reason is when the little neighbor boy sneeks up behind you and SOMEHOW unpluggs the nunchuck without you noticing and you sit there for an hour playing wondering Why the Wiimote isn't working?!?!?!?! All the Nights overs you get within the unplugged hour are STUPID reasons for Night overs.... because you feel stupid when you find out that it's unplugged.

My cousin did that to me once. It literally took me fifteen minutes to realize the nunchuck was unplugged. Needless to say, said child got beaten with a soup ladle when I figured it out.
