A small bit of Ocarina, only Zelda songs. I am planning to play the Drums, my mom has a drum set that we never use.

That's awesome! In my band, I both sing and play guitar. Although technically, I'm just lead guitar. But from time to time, I do some singing.

Classical Muso, born and bred (haha, when mum was preggers with me, instead of ice cream with tomato sauce, she got cravings to learn instruments O_o)

I play drums. And a little piano. And those other mallet instruments. And I can sing kinda goodly. But anything you need your mouth for, count me out. I can't play those for crap! I've tried playing my friend's flute, and my other friend's trumpet numerous times, and failed. Not a sound. Even when I was littler, I could never ever get those things to work. >.<

BTW, I'm a snare drummer in my high school's marching band.

I play the flute now, this will be my... 5th year? Eh, I'm okay at it. Not amazing, but not terrible! It's my tone quality mainly, but my poor flute is pretty much dead. A new flute will help the problem a TON.

My sister starts Alto Sax lessons... in a few weeks? I like playing with her sax, I can get a few notes out of it. I'm going to try to get her to teach it to me a little- I can already read music, so I'd just need to mater fingerings.

I want to learn piano and violin too, but I'll probably have to teach myself those. o.o That's going to be a challenge.

I don't know a thing about violin, but once you learn a bit of piano, it sticks with you. One day I sat down at my piano for the first time in a year or so, and I could still play some songs. (Rusty, mind you) I love the piano.

I played the violin for two years and hated it.

Now I've taught myself the ocarina and the basics of playing the piano. Horray for the Ocarina of Time!

Okay, here we go...

I've self-taught guitar for about 14 years now. I've self-taught keyboard since I was 5, but never took it seriously (basically just functional enough to play some chords and make synthesizer layers). I've played a variety of instruments just for fun when I had access to them, including banjo, drums, trumpet, violin, flute, recorder, marimba, zither, accordion, clarinet, and...well, a whole bunch, but I don't take those seriously and most I can not play very well if at all anymore. I'd love to get my hands on an oud and a sitar someday! I also play bass and do vocals when I can. I was in bands for a few years but have moved passed that because of a number of reasons. I will openly admit that I've never had traditional training, I can not sight-read, and I play everything pretty-much by ear. Any functional music theory knowledge comes from being involved in online musical communities ;)

Everyone here is so musical xD I played the ocarina (zelda songs only, of course) but I also sing. I've never taken professional lessons, everything I know is self taught (even though I'm not really that good, but hopefully not ear splitting :S )

i'm learning about piano (1 year), i play saxaphone (alto, 5-6 years), attempting to learn ocarina (the one i have does not have an existing scale sheet on the internet :(), and i'm planning to self teach myself trumpet, flute, and violin soon, probably starting with flute cause my friend is annoying me about joining their section of the band

I can play 'The Best is Yet to Come' from MGS on my bass ocarina by ear but that's the only thing on there, 'Brothers' from FMA, 'Sadness and Sorrow' from Naruto and 'To Zanrkand sp? from FFX by ear on piano and I can do 'Brothers' by ear on violin, Vincent's Theme ,'To Zanrkand sp?' a bit of Areis's theme by ear on guitar. But I'm really more of a vocal person.

I used to play a bit of piano. Couldn't read a bit of sheet music, never took a single class, but I used to try and play songs by ear like the intro to Digimon (1st season) and ocarina songs from Zelda on the old electric piano I had. Used to play "A Whole New World" and "Greensleeves" as a whole.

I don't have the electric piano anymore so I can't sit down and brush up on my skills. I'd love to though.

I play the flute right now, this will be my... 6th year of playing it? Yeah. Something like that. (I just got a brand new Trevor James flute too. ITS SHINY *-*).

I really want to learn piano, I'm hoping to start teaching myself over the summer (if not sooner). Violin is something else I'd be interested in, and maybe in college or something I'll pick up guitar.

My little sister plays sax, so I'd love to steal hers sometime and fiddle around on it, lol.

So now I'm trying to play the drum set a lot more. I mean, I've played before, but not very much. When I play something at home it's usually my piano. But I need to start playing drums a little more to practice for my school's jazz band, cause no one else can really do it.

I played flute for six years (some jackwad stole it >/), piccolo for one or two, and I have this habit of being able to pick up wind instruments pretty easily... I figured out three scales on the clarinet the day I borrowed it from someone. o_O; Played violin for a year, and I'm hoping to get an electric at some point so my mother and sibling don't have to hear me figuring it out again. I'd like another flute, but that's more expensive. I also really want to get back into violin, so. XD There's my priority.

I also sing, mezzo soprano range, but... I need to find my tuner and get back to that so I can correct myself and all. Not to mention, be able to figure out reading sheet music. I should probably get my best friend, lyrical soprano in opera, to help me. All things considered, she'd BETTER be able to, lawl. I'm not terrible, but when I'm out of practice, I tend to uh. Go flat. A lot. And she had a lot of the same issues that I currently have, so. Here's hoping. XD Tenny would like to at least be a competent singer, because it's enjoyable. Self-consciousness would lessen by half, at least.

DaRKNESS, first of all, you want to start by playing it slowly when you're first learning it. Also, take it in sections. Don't try to do the whole thing at once. Look up the tabs and then find a way to listen to it slowed down. If you're lucky enough to own a copy of it on vinyl, listen to it at a slower rpm. Good luck.

I've been "playing" guitar for 4 years, but I've only been REALLY hardcore playing (read: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 hours a day) for a year and a half. Video games are practically nonexistent to me anymore, save for the occasional old school gaming (Sonic, Sunset Riders, Double Dragon II, etc.).

I played Trumpet for 7 years, and I sucked ass. When I started guitar, I never looked back.

I played Bass for 1 or 2 years. Like Trumpet, when I started guitar, I never looked back, though I still play it for when I'm recording my metal music, so it's a handy skill to have.

I noodled with Piano/keyboards for a few months last year, but I haven't practiced for awhile. I might pick it up again. When I finally pick up a MIDI interface, I'll be able to use my electric Yamaha keyboard for recordings.

I've been noodling with Music Production for 9 months now, and have made great progress, as you will hear when the NiGHTS remix project is released...I'd show some of my current work, but every time I make a song, I end up making a great stride immediately afterwords, making that song a misrepresentation of how good I am. :P

Oh well, I'll share one anyway. This is a remix of Ninja Gaiden 2. The two songs used here are Stage 2-2 and the End Credits theme. This was for a competition, actually, and with only 7 hours until the due date, I decided on a whim to make an entry. Therefore, this song is VERY VERY rushed and has many problems, such as un-quantized drums and rhythm guitars that are way too quiet. The guitar tone sucks as well, but I have MUCH better guitar tone now thanks to a suggestion by my good friend PrinceofDarkness.

My friend and I started a makeshift band to do the music for our movies. You'd be surprised what can be done with an ancient keyboard and stock sound effects.

I just got Nanoloop 1.5 and have been experimenting with it. It fills me with ENORMOUS GLEE to be able to make my own chiptunes. Even though I've yet to make anything with a purpose, my own random bits have had me cackling with delight.

I learned guitar for 2 years when I was 9-10 years old.
But it didn't really catched my attention.

In my family I'm surrounded by musicians!, and even though I studied music for 3 years (the first one was just theorical and the second one I had to chose an instrument), I can't really remember much of what I learned. I really want to go back and learn from scratch since I would like to compose music, not really play it myself but make it.

I don't really care that i'm posting in a topic i had previously posted in under my old handle (Xay), so yeah.

I've been fiddling about with the piano for a couple of years, and i'm decent enough on it. I'd like to say i've got an ok-ish singing voice, but i've never let anyone listen to it. I've been wanting to take up the bass for a while now, because i am all about funky basslines. Currently, i own a Roland E-70 Keyboard, and a Yamaha pss-680 keyboard/synth, and i'm looking into getting a Melodica at some point in the near future. Hey, if it's good enough for Damon Albarn, then it's good enough for me!
I'm trying to get a band together with a couple of mates of mine- one that plays the bass, the other that plays electric/acoustic guitar- and i'm technically part of a music/ensemble put together with my music class, named Ergo, but that's more for School-related business. My main musical outlet is still that dogey PSOne program, Music 2000. The difference is, unlike in the old days of "Jester in the Sky" and "Blackl and Red", I don't suck at it anymore.
