Have to agree with you. Though, I don't want them messing with it anymore then a face lift... and the added gallery extras.

Agreed. I'm worried about them possibly making the other characters too different D8.

Maybe its me...But Claris looks ugly now.

Under the translation (for me anyhow), it said they were still working on the Screen with Claris in it. I know what you mean though. It probably still needs a tad bit of polishing, but, seeing the graphics... this was all hidden from us D8. Looks like most of it was developed already.

Lol. No, i didn't imply they make the characters different or anything. All i ever wanted was the game to be revamped and not altered in style or story or whatever. I just figured it would have been a nice little addition for the bosses to have a small cutscene opening before them. They didn't need to say anything. Reala always had one ...but that was in game. Meh, never mind. I just figured after 11 years, characters such as Jackle could have a bit more fanservice to give. Probably not going to happen though.

As for Claris. She looks lovely, in my opinion. It's so nice to see her with todays graphics.

One of the questions is why is Gilwing purple? It's kind of odd because he was green in the original NiD. I know I can sound pessimistic but let's hope this port doesn't end up like Sonic for the GBA :yuck:

I'm seriously thinking about buying this and a modded PS2. (I own a Wii, Xbox, PSP and a DS so far).


And here's my opinion: REGION CODES ARE A ROYAL PAIN IN THE ARSE!!! Especially if you live in Australia like I do.

Wow! The screenshots look so clear!!! And Claris looks Beautiful!!! I'm really wanting this!! And the Storybook comes with it toos?!?!?!?!?! I really must have it! I'm still hoping that they Release it to the Uk/Us also.

I'm looking foward to that!! Remastered versions of 'The mantle' and 'Spring Valley'!! And since the graphics are looking more crisp maybe we'll be able to see how Wizeman's face looked before he got his archie chin!!! Lol

Be nice if Christmas NiGHTS was an unlockable in there somewhere. Or if regular NiGHTS turned into Chrstmas based on your internal PS2 clock. :( But I doubt it.

lol I forgot the PS2 had an internal clock cuz I don't have any games that rely on it.

I'm thinking they'll use the Internal Clock for the Holiday modes. They were definitely looking at Christmas NiGHTS when they made this... it's got the presents feature 8D!

XD; But not many games use the Internal Clock a lot ;_;. The only games I really know is a Simpsons game and Metal Gear Solid used the clock for one of the boss battles (after 'X' amount of days of not playing when you get to a boss battle, the boss will die of old age while waiting for you. lol black humor. ).

Hmm, Well I think I'm safe in that respect... I bought my PS3 from a friend who got it the first day it came out... it's an old 60GB one.

I guess I'll just have to dig up some more research on the Region-Locking....

I think it is region-locked... but I'm not 100% sure. So don't listen to me XD; .

Half of me thinks they're going to have the old ones but just give it a higher resolution, the other half thinks they're going to recreate them but keep it the same movies and etc.

The game - I want it. For me that'd be the only way to experience the original somehow...
Buuuut, all those saying about game-might-not-be-that-colls, game-might-be-japan-only, the price and shippings and such
But still - I'm excited.
Anyways, I still will see screenshots and videos ^^

It's only the 40GB models that don't have PS2 compatibility. The new 80GB models have a combination of hardware/software compatibility, like the early PAL PS3s.

It's a bit of a shame that NiD PS2 didn't have much updated in the graphics department, because the PS2 could handle a lot more than that. But other than that, it's good of Sega to bring NiGHTS to new gamers. A lot of younger gamers or people who haven't even heard of the Saturn (most people I know don't know about the Saturn and heck, when Sega is mentioned here in Australia, they think of the Master System/Mega Drive) would think that JoD was the first game!! :huh:

But nevertheless, let's hope that Sega brings this to PAL areas. Even ported to the Wii/WiiVC would be nice.

Since the pics are bigger I think Claris actually looks better. Everything just looks so much better.

Where exactly is the 80GB out? Not in Europe, that's for sure. Plust the 40GB has been a huge hit in Japanland, so really you shouldn't expect support for setups that aren't selling for too much longer. Sony Europe went on record recently saying soon it will only be 40GB on sale I believe.

Yikes, those screens really make me sort of...disappointed. I see almost no really significant difference between the old and the new version. Maybe if they did a bit more with the textures, it would serve to make the game look so much cleaner.

Gripes aside, you still will not be able to convince me to get excited about this unless there is a Wii version coming. And that is my final word. Well, maybe second final.

Anticipate this more then JoD, after seeing the latest videos? Nonsense.

Nevertheless, looks great. Graphics are greatly improved over the Saturn game. Not the best of PS2, but still really nice.

The PS3 is not region locked for PS3 games. For PS1 and PS2 games as well as DVDs it is locked. So unless you have a Japanese PS3 you won't be playing this on your PS3. Unless of course Sega does the right think and releases it worldwide.
