Megaman Classic. We need a game that'll finally explain how 20XX was plunged into the nightmare that is 21XX.

I gotta say, I could definitely look forward to a Mega Man game on Wii, especially if it ties into the original series or the MMX series. I've never gotten into the .EXE series, and I don't know enough about it to give it an aye or nay, but the original NES games and the original SNES X games have always been my favorites. I found the Zero series to be ridiculously hard, but then again, most Mega Man games are harder for me than your average gamer. I guess I just don't have the coordination or the patience to beat them all the way through.

I've really enjoyed the side scrolling formula with the original series and with the X series. The full 3D bit with Legends didn't wow me, though I never played the games myself, only watched them. I hope, if they do something new with the Wii, that they really do a good job of making it fun to play. I don't know what all could be done with the motion sensing business, but I hope they don't go overboard with it. To be honest, I could play a side scrolling game with updated graphics and be happy with it. We'll see what it looks like when it gets here, eh?

I really hope it's in the style of the X games, but I doubt that :P

Never really liked any of the others (Zero, Battle Network etc)

Shweet a Megaman thread in the nights forums :D (feels at home now).

this is good news for me though I love the blue bomber, all of the series not just one or a few :D

Personally I want some closure in the classic series (X series kinda died for me after X5) or a new legends game. Actually the Wii would be perfect for legends now that I think about it... Anyhow I doubt it will be EXE since they concluded that series or Zero likewise. There is always the possibility of a new series but unlikley. This will be interesting I think. (crosses fingers for classic or legends game)

Megaman Classic. We need a game that'll finally explain how 20XX was plunged into the nightmare that is 21XX.

that was already explained that the start of the X series :D

As I have only ever played the originals, I definitely want it to be a traditional Megaman game. The series has not fared well in 3D though. Maybe the Wii Remote can fix some of those problems. A 2D game would be awesome, too! Here's hoping that it will be at least decent.

I loved Megaman Zero, and Megaman X. Sadly, I've never been into the originals, because I suck at them, a lot. But still, I would say they need to make a Megaman X game.

Megaman Classic tie-in to Megaman X.
Not once in any of the X games were the majority of the Classic characters mentioned.

I want to know what happened to Protoman, Bass, Rush, and why Robot Masters were scrapped!

(Though I suspect that Alia is actually Roll...)

What Megaman X game have you played? I played them all religiously, there was no actual explanation of Wily unleashing Zero upon the world and the disappearance of Megaman.

In before "Megaman was rebuilt into X," creators officially disproved this.

There have been theories circulating about the actual "Cataclysm" the event that led to the eventual demise of the original Megaman. The most common one, being that Zero utterly destroyed Mega and the others, but something happened to the Zero unit to cause it to malfunction/shut down. This explains the "Zero Burial Site" which Sigma stumbles upon.

The only explanation we have to the X universe is this:

Dr. Cain had found the Light Capsule containing X. Following the video record Dr. Light left, Cain learned that Light succeeded in creating an AI that would allow a robot to completely emulate a human being, right down to free will. In fears that X would be corrupted to the fallacies of humanity, X was to be sealed for 100 years to perfect the development of his "mind" allowing him to be a good citizen. Cain, however, released the capsule WAY before that 100 years was up.

Using X's spec, Cain created the Reploids, a replicate android based of the X AI. Soon, the world was completely populated with these amazing robots. However, just as humans are able to give into evil tendencies, so to did the Reploids. These rogue, law-breaking Reploids are called "Mavericks."

It was until Megaman X that we find out that Sigma, corrupted with the Wily Virus, rewrote the virus into the Sigma Virus, allowing it to transfer from Reploid to Reploid and trigger the "Maverick Instinct" forcefully. This is when we were introduced to viral induced Mavericks.

That, is the only told history we have between Megaman and Bass (Megaman 8.5) and Megaman X.

But we really do need a Megaman 9 which will, hopefully, close the classic arc and open to the X arc.

thats a completely different question all together :)

I was referring to the part you just mentioned in the explanation.

Oh and the reason Wily unleashed zero was explained in X4-5 when it was revealed he was created to kill X. As for my own speculation of why he wanted to do this, well knowing how the games story progresses anyway it was probably another attempt to take over the world lol.

*strolls into the topic uber late*

Five bucks says that the game on the Wii turns out to be Legends 3. Provided all the other story bits are tied up (ie Classic to X, X to Zero (more detail though there are drama CDs in Japanese that seem to fill the gap), Zero to ZX (more detail), and then the ZX tie to Legends. All that's left is the ultimate tie in for a Legends 3 to bring everything together. Word has it that Inafune has been waiting for the right time and technological capability to pull of a third MML game, and what better systems do we have other than the Wii and 360? ...maybe the PS3...maybe.

After all of that is completed, there's nothing left of the Rockman series other than alternate takes like .EXE and StarForce, then maybe going back and remaking things. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Capcom, with your unfinished Maverick Hunter and Powered Up series. >O

*Also strolls in late, as part of the LD-mobile*

I'm voting for a Command Misson 2, that doesn't suck. >_> Though she's right, it'll probably be Legends three. If it has anything to do with the Zero or .exe series though, I might be physically sick. For two months. With a shaved badger.

Just... please god let it be either Classic, or X.

...Though I wouldn't mind a Legends prequel about Eliseium...
(Ignore my spelling, I'm half dead.)

Among friends, I'm known for being the most insane X-series Zero fangirl ever. I really got my hopes up for the Zero series, and that was a big mistake.

Bsaically, I think that they gang-banged his character left and right until there was nothing left, but I have no problem with the gameplay.

I miss the X series. I miss Megaman's full body armor. It's all in the past now and so is my love for this series.

I want a Legends Wii game for just Tron Bonne, because I'm a Tron-retard. =)

And the work Inafune did on Zack and Wiki was absolutely amazing, people. BUY THE GAME!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!!! D=<

Sorry, but every Wii owner must have it. I'm now started to develop that half Nintendo fans are strong supporters of games like Z&W, while the other half are dumbarsed into buying half-assed sh*t that has Mario's face on the cover (not to say they are bad, I like Mario Golf). Oh well, at least Resi Evil 4 sold well, and it's a great game to begin with.

Ledgends I could live with.

I'm picturing the game-play working some-what like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. So far, it's looking like the only real logical way for this game to work on Wii.

I hope they ditch the Star force series, and continue making the battle network games. The story at the end of BN6 probably wouldn't allow for it, but I'm sure Capcom would find away around it.
