Oh gee thanks Digi. Now I am going to have hentai nightmares about Gulpo and Gillwing. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!As for Gulwing. Lol. It was either that or Gilpo...and the sound of 'Gilpo' sounds waaay too much like a Hentai fentish...so let's leave that one alone. XD;;
ALSO, where have those lion-cages gone? In the old version there was a section where you have to nock him between a few sets of moving lion-cages that look like horse carts. I don't see that section anywhere in the latest videos. o.o?
And yes, you are right. It seems they did take the lion cages out. There are some kind of cages there...but not the same and it doesn't look like you can break those. What a bummer. I think the lion cages looked a lot better than some giant pink blocks. Oh well....
--Edit--
Oh god I hope we can explor like old times. I actually sit on a level for 30 min hatching pian eggs. lol

Unless it simply means that for the NiGHTS sections you've got to get to NiGHTS in a certain amount of time perhaps?

Maybe there are certain missions that require you to be the kid and not NiGHTS? Or they were refering to the "My Dream" thing. I really have no idea. Things change though.....But wait a second.....they DID say there are sections where the kids run around by themselves......so what the hell is this timer all about then?

*shrugs* I dunno, it was just a thought. I hope it's not a timer. And that's a good idea, I just hope that's the case.
EDIT: Besides, I just said it looked like a timer, I never said what it was for.

I never really noticed the timer until now.... I never notice anything.lol, i know i know...but i watched the video back myself and it really does look like some timer for something. I just figured starting a little discussion as to what that clock means could get a few idea's in here, that's all. No worries. ^^

Yay.
Now I wanna know what it's for.......So many mysteries that we must wait to be uncovered...at least until the NiNJA get a hold of it.

Think about what you have just wrote. Does NiGHTS ever NEED more than just a facelift and some new levels?
NiGHTS? no. But for a full game on a "revolutionary" system, i think there needs to be more... and after reading some more posts (the rescuing of pians and such) there is a lot of evidence they're doing their job. like i said before, i was just in a negative nancy mood... i'm pumped for the game and i have faith it'll be awesome, it's just this little person inside of me wanting to criticize it...
hopefully the team working on it holds NiGHTS in as high regard as us fans do, and with combined hopes and dreams we're all inspiring them to test their limits to make an amazing game even BETTER in a couple months.

I would have to say yeah they do, seeing as it is Sonic team, lead by Iizuka, lead programmer from the original game and the same art designer and music directior from the original. The rest of the guys arent all from the original team but I bet they share the same enthusiasm for NiGHTS.

I remember reading quotes of Naka saying that he would be extra careful making another NiGHTS game because he valued the franchise so much. From what we've seen, the development team seems to be following that philosophy. Sonic Team is being smart enough to expand the game universe little bits at a time instead of reinventing everything all at once – a very strong temptation for imaginative game designers, but an idea that Sonic Team rightly recognizes would prove quite disastrous indeed.I would have to say yeah they do, seeing as it is Sonic team, lead by Iizuka, lead programmer from the original game and the same art designer and music directior from the original.

If they keep on flying toward the right, that means 1) the debuggers aren't doing their job, and/or 2) the developers aren't doing their job. Also, here's a thought. Those birds are always travelling down the mare to right, correct? What happens if NiGHTS flies to the left?

good call. i was worried cuz i had read that Naka wasn't leading anymore, but since someone on the original project is leading, i can rest easy and dream even more wetly about this game

It still worries me that Yuji Naka isn't working on this game. As quote Jax as we voice chatted on Pokemon, "NiGHTS was Naka's baby!" He protected NiGHTS for as long as he could. Then when he left....oh look a new NiGHTS game. >> Actually they may have been trying to do this new game before Naka left...I am not sure. But the point is...it worries me. Yuji Naka was great. Heck, I think that is pretty evident when you compare the Sonic 2006 next to SatSR.good call. i was worried cuz i had read that Naka wasn't leading anymore, but since someone on the original project is leading, i can rest easy and dream even more wetly about this game
Also, as for the bird thing, I think they may discourage flying left due to the fact it may take even longer to catchup to the bird if you do that. It may also be really hard and mess up your score. Who know...maybe they will be smart about it and put areas you can't go back to after you exit, and thus making flying left a bad idea. Lets hope they thought of this.

So.. what you guys are saying about the music we heard on the French page.. from what I can make out, somehow, this might actually be the music? I actually kinda like the 'level' music from that clip now, but.. I dunno..

yeah. Naka was quite fond of NiGHTS and i always tied him to the soul of NiGHTS... hopefully Naka had notes on what HAD to be in a future sequel or something for the other team to look at or something... it's kind of like Walt Disney dying and saying that Disneyland was going to be the only Disney park, but after he croaked (then frozen, lol) they build a fuxing place called Disney WORLD. i find that comical... buy hey, it's a nice expansion on the core idea of Disneyland. hopefully NiGHTS will be like that, only.... a few million less tourists, if you know what i'm implying. (FATHEADS!)It still worries me that Yuji Naka isn't working on this game. As quote Jax as we voice chatted on Pokemon, "NiGHTS was Naka's baby!" He protected NiGHTS for as long as he could. I know...Naka was the best, he's the true father of NiGHTS I say. But, the sequel has come a long way and it looks great, I just hope the bugs are fixed...except for the best line ever that I bet no innocent mind will catch unless it's pointed out to them.

Too cool! More video goodness! Be sure to thank whoever found this video guys.
Great stuff in there. A-Life is back, and so are the Nightopeans, so huzzah for that. Plus, I couldn't have hoped for a better remake of Spring Valley ever. And finally, all the stuff in it, like the Ideya Capture (if it is still called that), the bird with the key, and the underwater dealio all were awesome. It was pretty annoying though how everyone kept sticking their stupid heads in the way of the camara.
Oh, and I agree with you guys, are the controls really that hard?
I haven't seen an ideya capture anywhere. Are you referring to the ideya palace? Is that what that cage thing is? It makes me wonder if it WILL be the same as the original. I hope so. Getting the capture early and going into bonus time was always a great way to kepp beating your high scores.
Yeah it looks as though they've added a mist effect and the backgroung looks deeper somehow... if you get what I mean. That music is on FIYAAAAAAH!! I'm lovin' it. It's got NiGHTS written all over it, man. He's nailed the music perfectly. Woohooo! ^____^
The boss music was a bit of a surprise yet really good, too.
Speaking of bosses, someone mentioned that Phuckle now has an actual name. Translated into something like Donbalon or something, though don't qoute me on that. I can't remember for the life of me.
So..now its the fish bosses turn to get a name. Since he reminds us of Gulpo yet his movement patterns seem to represent that of Gilwing we have dubbed the new fish boss GulWing. ...do you see what we did there?
--edit--
Also, has the boss level changed at all? It seems different somehow. o.o?
No you heard correctly. I remember it too. That is why I am confused about some people not knowing about it. From what we have heard, it sounds like it will be just like Sonic and The Seceret Rings and have several missions for every level. The bird catching is probaly the normal form of the level.
Oh noes! Sonic and the Secret Rings' structure was awful!

It would work better for NiGHTS since the original did have a "select a level" structure to it. Journey of Dreams does have a hub world if I remember correctly. How do you select the missions is the question.Oh noes! Sonic and the Secret Rings' structure was awful!

Oh, *shifts* I mean it's so exciting! Nothing new here in the least for me (I watched this at least 10 times in person), but nothing new in the development except that, as Daniel told us, resolution has been improved, yay.

I'd really like to hear some more of the game's music right about now, especially after what they did with "Dreams Dreams".

But ohhhh, you're making me such a happy girl, people... *tears of joy*
First I'd like to join you who complains - watching those videos with those people almost made me yell "What-the-hell, get your dumb heads away from the screen!!!". Those smart people who stands or walks right before camera and ruin all the fun... And why's so much babbling? At the screens you should stare in AWE and SILENCE, people, in AWE and SILENCE.
And I believe NiGHTS himself would yell something like: "Either you hold that darn wiimote properly or pass it to those who can play!"
But nyaaaaah, that's gorgeous... That windmill level looks lovely - btw, I myself don't see it as a remake of the Spring Valley... I think that things like nature scapes are common things to dream about. Level design looks quite great - I love those ponds and waterfalls, and tunnel with roses and gleaming chips looks plain beautiful. I wonder what are those dandelion puffs are for... Random missiles to throw around? Though I think I saw some glowing things coming out of them as you hit 'em...
Also makes me wonder, how would developters explain the choice of elements and symbols? I mean, they've explained the whole rusty-park level of Will, would they also tell us the whole meaning of other levels?
And A-life, weeee... Now I know for sure that Pians and chao are sublings XD
And I began to see that owl as some kind of an Omochao... Hope I'm wrong) Or else owl goes "Hello, I'm Owlchao!" and gamers sends NiGHTS to kick it...
By-the-waaay, about dolphin persona... awww, why not make NiGHTS the mer-maren again?
Will's dreamscape of a rusty lunapark is great, too. And yay for cart-NiGHTS. Though cutscene of Will's nightmare made me think "Pfff, what a girly boy...". And his emotions - I can hardly believe it. Claris and Elliot had stronger facial expressions...
And an overall saying... A Divine Unicorn said that levels miss some dreamlike and imaginary feeling, and I think I would agree. I myself would like to see more abstract and absurd scapes, for dreams are meant to be like that!
But still... sooo excited... And please don't make me jealous saying things about bying those lovely NiGHTS statues... But when you buy, please make one-two tons of pictures for everyone to enjoy...
