I don't know why in the heck it took me so long to post this, but now's a better time than never, right? This topic will be about the .hack// games in general,

For those of you who aren't familiar with the stories, I'll give you a brief synopsis of the plot... and I'll try my best to supress the spoilers. After Tsukasa and company managed to escape her grasp, the AI system of The World, Morgana, created an NPC to continue pursuing the newly awakened Aura. This NPC, Skeith the Terror of Death, ruthlessly pursued Aura all throughout The World, causing the system to malfunction and attacking any players who stood in its way. Unfortunately, instead of making the players lose their data from their last save, Skeith's attacks caused the actual people in front fo the screen to fall into comas. When the game starts, the player (Kite) is logging on for the first time and learning the ropes from his friend, Orca of the Azure Sea. But unfortunately, the two happened upon Aura and Skeith... which resulted in Orca falling into a coma after being killed by Skeith. Kite, the weaker player, is knocked unconscious, but awakens to find that his avatar colors have changed and that he has obtained the Data Drain ablilties. Running into Blackrose, a teenager whose little brother falls into a coma as well, and a motley group of other players, Kite seeks to find Aura and to save the other comatose victims before it's too late...

.hack//G.U. takes place a few years after the end of the game, but the events work side-by-side with its anime, .hack//Roots. Because of a wide system crash and the disappearance of Aura, all of the data from the original World game has been lost, prompting CC Corporation to quickly create an updated system, known as The World 2. But unlike its predecessor, this version is burdened with the presence of player killers who pop of weaker players for sport. After his friend Shino (a female Cleric) is attacked and put into a coma by a Twin Blade known as Tri-Edge, Haseo, the main character, snaps and becomes a PKK (a player who kills player killers), hunting down this elusive character. He finally receives a tip from an old comrade that Tri-Edge has been sighted in the exact same place that he attacked Shino, which fires Haseo's rage and urges him to chase Tri-Edge down. Unfortunately, Tri-Edge owns Haseo and Data Drains him as well, causing Haseo to lose consciousness. Luckily, Haseo's player recovers quickly... but instead finds that his character has been demoted to its weakest levels and that all of his e-mails were gone. Reluctantly teaming up with Silabus and Gaspard (two members of the guild Canard), Haseo tries once again to build up his strength to go up against Tri-Edge again. Along the way, he becomes involved with a mysterious guild (G.U.) which consists of players who are able to "control" one of the 8 Phases from the original game and enabling him to use Data Drain himself. However as the game proceeds, Haseo's mission becomes more complicated as he discovers a malicious entity causing problems in the game, known as AIDA...

Lol I've never played the games but I read the manga/watch the animes and I've been roleplaying on a .hack forum for like, 3 years now. Curse my lack of a ps2!

Ah... .hack. I eagerly await the last game in the G.U. series, after pounding Volume 2's last boss and getting all my characters to level 100 with their ultimate weapons. So we've seen all of Haseo's forms so far, right? Isn't he supposed to get another in the last game? What does it look like?

D'you mind spoilers? It's pretty sweet.

Ah well, awesome to know. Also, I saw a photo of that thing. I'm looking forward to using it. Weapons kinda remind me of Trench Spikes.
