Hey i was playing sonic riders just now and i was playing that stage SEGA ILLUSION you know that one with the sega theme's in it..., and a thought just hit me, what if sega made an online game called sega world and you would be this kid that got sucked into his dreamcast and you could go around exploring different world's from ALL of the sega franchises and it'd have two mode's too play, free play mode where you just simply explore and play the all the original sega game's ( depending on which franchise world you entered), and new mission's and mini game's and also be able to create your own personal avatar, and a strory mode which would get a new story mode every month or year or so and the game would offer update's, event's and demo's of new/old upcoming sega franchise's, and the online service was simply $40 buck's a month would you buy it download it and play it, i know i would!!!

What a genious idea. Hopefully SEGA reads these forums and acts on what you typed. I would love to travel around a world on Ristar or a world on Earthworm Jim. Hell the city in Streets of Rage would be awesome.

There had better be a Virtual On world. Since it sound like an MMO of sorts, could you elaborate on the community aspects of it?

Other than that it sounds kind of cool... except for the price. The thought of a $40 monthly fee makes me want to stick my finger down my throat.

Of course there would be a virtua-on world, DAMN IT!, i'll be right back!

Sorry for that little outburst but everyone's annoying the hell outta me on my end but no worry's i just locked them all out so heh heh... back on topic shall we  , anyway's $40 buck's is a great price, they would need to make a profit somehow that's a really great price the game would cost $20 and the online fee could be $40 or$30 ;)

EDIT: Plus you'd be able to interact with other player's online, and as for your characters ability's you'd be able to gather different sega heroes powers/ability's.

Would it be like this:

You would take blank models of characters based off the Sega Universe. Models based off games like Sonic and NiGHTS. Then, you could take traits and abilities from many different characters, and use it to move through the game.

In that way, you could play as a NiGHTS-style model with the ability to fly, as well as other powers. Plus, you could join groups and fight against major bosses and go on 'quests' like in WoW.

Now that would be an awesome game.

Let us compare shall we?

1 Month of Phantasy Star Universe - $9.99
1 Month of World of Warcraft - $15.00
1 Month of Xbox Live Gold - $7.99
1 Month of Xbox Live Silver - Free
1 Month of Guild Wars - Free

Monthly fees aren't meant for profit, they're meant to pay for server maintenance and bandwidth. Game publishers make profit by selling the software itself and I can almost guarantee you, if anybody were to ever release an MMO with a monthly fee over the teens, unit sales would suffer and that sure as hell isn't something I'd want happening to the game you're proposing.

I was concerned with such a high price. I would expect the game itself to be $30, while the subscription cost would be about $12.

the lcosest hting to this that Sega has made is Segagaga. You even end up in a shmup style final battle against Sega consoles. Im not making this up.

First you would start out in the first based world which is the sega amusement park world, which can also be explored to the fullest, and you could visit other world's like sonic world, NiGHTS world, virtua world which consist's of everything virtua that sega has ever done, and from the sega amusement park hub world you can see all the other world's in the sky it would be so amazing to look at, i would love to make it a fun and unforgetable way to travel to the other world's rather than just find a portal.

EDIT: The basis of the hole game is that a kid that is a HUGE sega fan was playing his dreamcast and he get's sucked into the console from through the litte red light on the console and enter's SEGA WORLD.

You would also be able to unlock a "what if" mode and a "crossover mode" too, like sonic and NiGHTS meeting for the first time or sonic and alex the kidd, with alex having a hatred towards sonic for sega abandoning him. Basically any what if or crossover moment you could think of would be in the game, like shinobi meeting nightshade

EDIT: It'd be a very simple yet challenging game to play, man i have so many game idea's flowing through my mind all the time i have to write alot of this stuff down half the time, you should see my room nothing but drawing's and gaming idea's writing down everywhere.

You would also be able to unlock other world's and a create a fighter mode, where you make your own fighting game something like that thing MUGEN only better because you could choose what move's you'd want your favorite character to do and it'd be nice and fluent, and be able to unlock all the old school sega game's and i mean ALL of them as well as the remake's that's on ps2, xbox and gamecube man that would be so amazing!

EDIT: My favorite world to visit would of course be NiGHTS and jet set radio's.

I would love to see a ristar world too that would be awesome!
