Title: Silhouette Mirage
Console: Sega Saturn(Jp Only)/ Playstation(US/JP)
Type of Game: Side-scroll action
Synopsis: The setting is (presumably) planet Earth, during a post-apocalyptic year 2000. Prior to the events in the game, a group of scientists conducted genetic experiments in a great facility called Edo. From their activities emerged the two attributes: Silhouette and Mirage.

Eventually, the genetic experiments resulted in a biological explosion which contaminated the genetic structure of all entities on Earth. Many perished, and those that survived displayed either of the two attributes (a special group, called Proteans, can display both attributes).

In preparation for this disaster, the computer system Gehena created a being known as 'The Messenger of Justice' (hostile figures dubbed her 'Messenger of Destruction'), designed to repair Edo's computer's system and neutralise all the instances of the two attributes. Shyna Nera Shyna (Sinna Neutlarva Sinner). (from wiki)

Comments: FUNNY! I think the people who made Mischif Makers also did this game. It is recommended that you read more about this game on Wiki. There is so much stuff to this game its insaine. Now this may sound serious...but the storyline is actually hilarious. This game is very wacky and fun, and its recommened you get the Playstation English version instead of the Sega Saturn version. However, the English version game is very very hard. So you need to be a very good video game player to beat this game. If you are a fan of NiGHTS then you will love this game. Kyojin no Doshin (Doshin the Giant) on the Cube and N64 DD

This game is really one of the weirdest games that has come from the hallowed halls of Nintendo. It basically never released the United States on either of the consoles that it was on due to the fact that the N64 DD never made it to America and totally flopped in Japan. The goal is to build monuments for each of the tribes on the island that you inhabit, as the game is basically a god game that Molyneux took inspiration from when building Black and White. It is really weird, as you can change at will into an uber-evil giant named Jashin who can lay waste to towns and such. Not the greatest game, but definitely in need of another look.

Hurray! I turned 100! Hurray! Cheers! A votre sante, monsieur! Happy anniversary! Long live the king!

Title: Bully
Console: PS2
Type of game: Ummm.... The same kind the Grand Theft Auto series is
Synopsis: You're a kid who's been expelled from a whole mess of boarding schools, so your (*cough cough* kind of "easy") mom and her newest husband cart you off to a school called Bullsworth Academy, which they believe is your last hope. As the new kid, you have to face inattentive teachers, nasty, violent prefects, and bullies, and survive the experience.
Comments: The game was great, but the kid who control couldn't run very fast. It was kind of boring watching him jog along to his next mission. And those prefects don't think twice about using brunt physical force to drag you into the classroom if you wind up a couple minutes late because you were helping some nerd find his glasses.

First of all please excuse my horrid grammar I know it sucks. :)
Hmm, maybe that Pocahontas game for Sega Genesis. Though it was actually good for a licensed game and was ok as a platforming/adventure type of game.(especially since there were NO endless pits and a good number of puzzle type obstacles). :P Though I am kidding it is a pretty good game.

In seriousness I would say Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. I do agree that there's been too many harvest moon games and that they haven't been too different and varied from one another. This is probably one of the best harvest moons however. It is more of a culmination of all the previous games in that it took stuff from them but adds a few new things as well. One example are the many characters appearing from the previous games. This game pretty much gives you a lot more stuff you could do than the other ones anyway. This is also more like animal crossing in style and in other aspects such as the interior decorating. There is also a lot of space in the game and one could pretty much buy the entire place except for a few spots that the villagers own of course. You aren't given much except a house but could plant stuff anyway as long as someone else doesn't own the land. This was good though you could build your barns and such almost anywhere and move it later if you want. Though it is sorta hard to start it gets easier to do more stuff as you can upgrade your buildings and tools. They do in this one give you a visible energy bar which when depleted makes you faint although you could refill the bar and extend it. You also don't have to go to your menu to get out items either. One thing they suggest you do is help the Harvest Goddess which is the only thing the gives it something of a story though it's optional but, it's sorta a side thing and you do get stuff out of it. You also have a farming rival who is always your opposite gender (looks the same either way) and you compete with her/him in farming sales.

It was sorta overlooked 'cause it had a chibi cell-shaded style but, it really isn't that bad in fact it was very cute. In fact this was way better imo than the previous gamecube harvest moons which were a/nother wonderful life. They were pretty deviating from the previous ones which isn't a bad thing but the only thing it had going for it was the family aspect everything else was lacking. It also sorta tried to make things realistic but cartoony which was way ugly. Especially the guys you can marry in the girl version and yes it does matter in this one 'cause it forced you to get married. I'd say even the gameboy advance version that came around the same time was better (if only for it's pick up and play). Sorry, no more bashing on that game now, heh heh ;) . MM however gave you much space and options and didn't really force you to do anything. I felt that they could've done more with the festivals and mini-games though. The town's people are very boring to talk to but, you do usually get something out of befriending them. You could also make different animals like you besides your farm animals though you don't get much from them except for the dolphin. There is probably some things they didn't add but it doesn't really detract from the finished game. Plus at its new price of $40 it was a great deal (esp. with the sheep plushie). I regret to say though that a European version hasn't come out yet.

Synopsis:

Sounds basic but it's lots of fun, the music is great and you can put your own cds into the Playstation to make your own levels!

Here's a few that I Reccomend.

Title: Gitaroo Man
Console: PS2
Type of game: Music
Synopsis: Uichi [Or, U-One in English versions] is a young boy who's pretty dorky. He's overlooked by most people, including the girl of his interests, Pico. Uichi is trying to learn some good skateboarding moves to impress Pico, but isn't very successfull. Puma, Uichi's talking dog, teaches Uichi how to play the guitar [And the game controls.], relveals to Uichi that he's Gitaroo man, the keeper of the last Gitaroo. This title makes Uichi a target for quite a few baddies trying to take the last Gitaroo from him.
Comments: This is probably one of the most amazing games I have ever played. Good chance that if you've played Elite Beat Agents or Ouendan, you'd find Gitaroo man a good game. They're made by the same creator. It's become more hard to find and expensive, atleast on PS2. They do have a port on PSP, though. I haven't played it, but it does have two extra songs. :]

Title: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile [Someone mentioned this, but I thought I'd add some details.]
Console: PS1
Type of game: Platformer
Synopsis: The game starts out in the world of Phantomile. In Phantomile, very few people can remember their dreams, due to the world being fueled by the dreams of people. Klonoa, on the other hand, has a nightmare where something crashes into a mountain. When in reality, something does crash into the very same mountain, Klonoa and his partner Hewpow go to check it out. At the top of the mountain, Klonoa and Hewpow find two mysterious characters, Ghadius and Joka. They speak about a magical pendant, and later kidnap Lephise, a goddess of sorts, who had crashed into the mountain. Klonoa and Hewpow find the pendant after Ghadius and Joka leave, and proceed to try to find out more about the pendant and save Lehpise.
Comments: This, and it's sequal, Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil [on the PS2] are both great games, in my opinion. I don't want to go into details and possibly spoil something for someone, but these two games remind me a little of NiGHTS. Atleast Klonoa as a character does for the most part. Door to Phantomile reminds me more than Lunatea's Veil does.
Regardless of any similarities, the games are extremely fun. Lots of puzzles and long stages to run around in, lots of things to find, and a few extras definately make the game replayable. :]

That's all I can think of from the top of my head that I want to mention.. other than Earthbound, but someone beat me to it. :3

Time for my inner geek to shine, I suppose...

Title: Descent-Descent II-Descent III
Console: PC (And I think the first two were also available on PS1)
Type of game: First Person Shooter
Synopsis: If you like maze-like mineshafts, 360 degrees of full rotational movement and free flight, futuristic lasers, and giant, haywire robots that will explode into colorful pixelly goodness -- this is the game for you. You control a spacecraft/hovercraft in a first person shooter style, using lasers and missiles that can be upgraded by flying over a power-up and switching to it. Your mission? To destroy the mine reactor and take out as many robots as possible, all while trying to escape before the level explodes.
Comments:
Love this game...!
This was one of the few games that I couldn't live without. The music for the first two was MIDI -- but even now, it's still some of the best Techno music I've ever heard. The graphics were pixel, but you never really noticed it while you were playing... and the gameplay was addictive! Who can resist blowing up hordes of alien robots with cool looking lasers? And the robots you had to destroy were AWESOME.

The third game upgraded the music to wav/mp3, and sounds even better than the music from the first two games. They dumped the pixels and went for a 3D rendering engine -- and it was one of the first of it's kind. Gameplay was still as addictive -- although the 'destroy reactor, and escape as quick as possible' method was removed, only to be replaced with an even better mission system -- where the goal wasn't always to blow something up.

And all three games had a multiplayer modes, mostly used for across the world deathmatches at high speed.

The first and second games in the series were DOS based, and ended up gaining an incredible amount of fans. But, as the PC systems upgraded, the ability to play them was lost, and the games were sadly forgotten. Descent III, made for Windows 95-98, was an attempt to bring it back... but at the time, the system requirements were too high for most people to afford, and it, too, was forgotten.

Here is one I think is a good one:

Title: Panzer Dragoon Orta
Console: X-Box
Type of game: 3rd Person Rail Shooter
Synopsis: This is a direct sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga and has several ties to that game. It goes back to the Rail Shooter style of gameplay familiar in the first 2 games of the series but also adds in some RPG elements. Stoy wise you follow the story of Orta and her Dragon as they journey to stop an evil empire and find out about her past.

Comments: This is a great game that is one of the best X-Box games and my personal favorite. It did not do too well due to the lack of popularity of the series in the US. There is a lot in this game in terms of unlockables including the original Panzer Dragoon in it's entirerty. This IMO is a must own and well worth it.

Might I add...

Title: Panzer Dragoon
Console: Saturn
Type of game: 3rd Person Rail Shooter
Synopsis:Basically you a dragon rider and you save the world. It is a full 360 rail shooter so you got people coming at all sides.

Comments: Simply put.... Awesome.

Title: Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
Console: Saturn
Type of game: 3rd Person Rail Shooter
Synopsis:It is the direct prequel to Panzar Dragoon. Basically you are following the back story to the dragon of the first game. In this game the villagers kill their riding beasts if they show mutations. Your beast has the glowing neck and a small set of wings. You hide it until its big and then the imperials attack decimating your village. Take out the anger on the imperials old school with your dragon. Also in this one your dragon evolved due to performance in levels and the dragon had a berserk mode.

Comments: If the first was Awesome.... This one way beyond that!

My little review: AWESOME. Never have I been more addicted to a sports game. Skateboarding in a video game at it's finest. The controls are new and extremely interesting. A lot of the motions are like the real thing. Plus when you get bored just go out and purposely get hit by cars .

Console: Gamecube

Type of game: Real Time Strategy

Synopsis: You control Olimar, and in 2, Louie, and a heck of a lot of Pikmin. You go through the pikmin world, which is probably Earth, in 1, collecting ship parts, and in 2, paying back Hotocate Freight's debt.

Comments: A very fun, but challenging game which all should play. Addictive as Pokemon.

Console: Arcade, Playstation, Dreamcast,

Type of game:Fighting game

Synopsis: The game takes place within the Marvel comic continuity, as Professor Charles Xavier calls out for heroes to stop him before he merges with the consciousness of Magneto and becomes the being known as Onslaught, the final boss.

Comments: Unique for it's time for have both Marvel and Capcom characters. I remember going to a laundromat to play this game, almost beat it once too.

Title: Marvel vs Capcom: New Age of Heros

Console: Arcade, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and X-box

Synopsis: When the earth and everything on it begins to die, Ruby Heart traces the source to an evil being known as Abyss, the Armor of Erosion. She summons the greatest heroes to her airship to find the being. Ultimately, its source of power is revealed to be a mysterious black metal ball within its center.

Type of Game: Fighting Game

Comments: Music was good , Jazz, but it doesn't really fit fighting games. Boasts 56 characters. Last of Marvel vs Capcom. Although Marvel has just stop their contract with E.A. which could give us one more MvC.

Title: Ristar
Console: SEGA Genesis/Mega-Drive/Game Gear/Virtual Console
Type of game: Don't really know. Seems like an Action/Adventure/Puzzle/Platform game to me
Synopsis: In the Valdi System(Vajdi in Europe and Japan), an evil tyrant, the Space Pirate Greedy, has taken over each planet and the world's leaders. Even the Legendary Hero stands no chance! A desperate prayer is made and answered...by the Hero's own son...
In the game, Ristar much fight his way through seven planets, solving unique puzzles and finding hidden treasures. Run, dive and fly through this action-packed battle to save the galaxy.
Comments: On the Top 5 list of Favourite Games during the Genesis Era. Fun, creative and a bit of a mind stressor(take it from me, it's got REALLY difficult bosses...)

Title: Dynamite Headdy
Console: SEGA Genesis/Mega-Drive/Game Gear/Virtual Console
Type of game: Platform/Action/Adventure
Synopsis: This follows the story of Dynamite Headdy, a puupet with no neck who must stop Dark Demon and Trouble Bruin, along with saving his friends.
Comments: A fairly decent game. My only complaint is the fact that the bosses are VERY freaky(except for Bruin of course! :) )

Title: Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Console: Gamecube/PC
Type of game: Platform/Action
Synopsis: Billy Hatcher is your average every day kid until one day, he and
his friends are transported to the magical world of Morning Land, where chicken elders call upon the daylight each morning. But trouble is afoot and Dark Raven and his cronies seal the elders in golden eggs, planning to keep Morning Land dark FOREVER! Can Billy and his friends stop Dark Raven? Or will every world be forced into darkness?

Title: Earthbound ZERO/MOTHER

Console: NES

Type of game: RPG (Role Playing Game)

Synopsis: A young girl looses her mother. A young boy is tormented at his elementary school for his intense genius, and another young boy becomes corrupt, seeking vengeance for the murder of his parents. In the middle of this, Ninten wakes up one night to find his house in chaotic disarray. After returning the lamp to normal, Ninten ventures out to see things are still not right. Mimmie, Ninten's sister, is terrified in her room when her doll is running amok. Downstairs, Ninten's mother is barricading the door and wishing her husband was home. The phone rings, and who else but Ninten's father calls. Ninten's father tells him there is something deeper going on, then a mere poltergeist. Ninten learns he has psychic powers, strange and unusual powers that are unexplained, except the slight mention of them in his Great Grand Father's Diary.
It's time for Ninten to embark on a journey, to get to the heart of the plague that has turned honest people into crooks, animals driven insane and piecing together a haunting melody that lingers in the world to be answered.

Comments: As much as Earthbound is well known through-out, a lot of people seem to overlook EBZ, to me I love it, although I played through Earthbound first of all and both games are equally as good as each other, EBZ seems to draw more into it's story. I think more people need to play the first to really get a good understanding of both Earthbound and MOTHER 3 and on a side note, to those who's playing M3 before Earthbound, there's going to be a chunk of information missing. <3

Title: Disgaea
Consol: PS2, psp, ds
Type of game: SRPG
Synopsis: Welcome to the netherworld... a place where evil, greed, and murder run rampant... You play as Laharl the son of the great overlord, King Krichevskoy, only you've been asleep for two years (when you only planned on sleeping for 10 days) during this time Etna, Laharl's "loyal" vassal informs you that the netherworld went to hell... now all the demons of the netherworld are going for Laharl's title of Overlord...
now it's time for you to teach them why that's not a good idea...

Comments: a game that went unknown for it's greatness till later so it's very hard to find a ps2 copy these days thankfully psp's and the ds are easier to come by... destroy your enemies with somewhere around 100+ hours of gameplay! a level cap of 9999! multiple endings, tons of job clases + secret characters, and now (in ds and psp versions) show other players your power by fighting head to head and see who's stronger, plus alot more
