What's the first dream you remeber having? Does anybody remeber having one at a young age that has stuck with you for a long time?

I remeber at lest two, one when I was 4 years old, and one where I was 7 years old. The one where I was 4 was basically a Nightmare and very short, I was at the top of the stairs at my old house and I would fall and fall into a dark abyss. Yup...classic falling nightmare and it's not that intersting. HOWEVER the one when I was 7 I still remeber it quite vividly even though I was so young. It was just after I watched "Jurassic Park" for the first time, I was currently obsessed with Dino's at that age. I was in a jungle, I began wandering around until I hit a tall concreet wall. I looked up and saw the way the fence was, made me realize I was in the Rapter Cage from the movie! I began to panic, then a rapter came out of the bushes and scared me. But it just stood there, it didn't attack me. It tilted it's head and came up to me, but it let me pet it! It was a friendly dino! Then other rapter came out of the bushes, the first one came infront of me and growled at the others, knowing they would try to hurt me. I remeber they started to talk in 'raptor Language' but I could understand them. The one that was protecting me was apperently a 'prince' raptor, and one of the new ones was the 'queen' raptor, he was saying that he didnt' want to hurt me, and he wouldn't let them hurt me eaither. he put me on his back and we ran off.

It's the strangest thing that I remeber that dream, I don't remeber any of my other dreams up intill proably Jr. High. So how about it? How far back can you all remeber?

I can remember a few from my childhood, though I'm not really sure when I had them. One of the more vivid ones was not precisely a nightmare, but it still scared me a bit. I was in this huge auditorium, with almost no one in it. It was very odd, since my senses were split. My point of view was way out in the back rows, connected to what I now consider my "body" in the dream. That one of me was sitting all alone; there was no one else sitting down to watch. All of my other senses, touch, hearing, etc., were in the guy up on the stage. He was giving a VERY lengthy speech, and for some reason he was only allowed to use one breath of air to do it. The fact that I couldn't remember the speech didn't help much either. There was also this hobo-hunchback-Igor character up on the stage that kept prompting the "me" next to him. My lungs were really burning after just a little bit of this, so that's probably why I remember it so well.

Another one, the first dream I remember that can really be called a nightmare (which is sorta stupid because I was the "big, indestructible hero" character in the dream) came on the night that I watched a particular episode of the TV series "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids: The TV Show." Basically, I just acted out a REALLY strange version of the episode, which involved a robotic bunny doll bent on destroying everything, its robotic pet dog that had a missile launcher mounted on its back, and having to reprogram both of them to be nice again. In my dream, they were both attacking my family and I had to throw a conveniently-placed sewing machine at them to make them stop. Neither of them had any real chance of hurting me in the dream, plus I obviously had super-strength (as I was able to lift and toss the sewing machine like it was nothing), so I have no idea why it was so scary. But it was anyway.

When I was like 4 I had a really simple dream. I saw an image of a sumo wrestler. Back then I thought it was a man wearing a diaper and it creeped me out.

Between the ages of 3 and 5 (I dunno when exactly... XD) I had a lucid dream. Actually I had two, but the first was set in... well, I knew it was my house, but as I don't remember the house in anything except the dream it's possible it was one of those thongs where you know something IS something, but it's not really. Well, that made sense. XD Anyway, I wandered around for a while, before realising it was a dream, and running into the front yard and screaming that I wanted to wake up and jumping up and down and stuff. I think my parents just wandered around doing odd jobs o_o I'm almost certain that's the earliest I remember... not 100 percent it didn't happen later on, but I AM pretty sure that it's my earliest memory of a dream.

I was a bit of a wake-up-as-early-as-possible kid. XD

If I remember a dream for more than a day, I'll probably remember it for a LONG time. So I have a few memories of old dreams... Which is very odd, as I have barely any specific memories further back than... oh, 3, 4, maybe 5 years, though at 5 years ago I can't remember what happened when really. Primary school didn't change much, so it all tended to blur together. So, remembering so many old dreams is odd...

I remember a few, but only one or two pop into my head.

I think one of the ones I remember the most from my young days is a dream I had when I was 6. It was about a book that said 'Game Over' and a Video Game that said 'The End' when both were completed. And something about a fisher losing their heart. All three things from that dream haunt me to this very day >.>!

A dream in which I became Angewomon from Digimon pops into my head. Considering the fact that it was 1999 when I saw it, I must've been...five or six, I'm not sure. About that age. Along with a nightmare that I had about hearing my little brother melting faster than you could say Wizeman.

The farthest dream I can remember is from when I was three years old.

I was in the car with my dad going really fast down the street, I believe we were trying to escape from cops. I somehow got out of my seat-belt, climbed out the window, and sat on the car roof. I remember the scenery around me being colorful blurs, like when going really fast in cartoons. When I looked back after a couple of minutes I saw that we were not only being chased by police, but now by folded blankets. I still wonder about that dream.

I'm odd in that my earliest memory is a dream. In it I was laying in my cot all baby like, when my dad changed the lightbulb in my room and it exploded like a firework. Then he did another, only blue, same thing happened. This went on in different colours for quite some time.

Actually, now that you think of it my first memory is a dream too, I think. For the longest time I thought it wasn't a dream but looking at it that makes no sense.

I was in a carseat, but I was also on the counter in my kitchen. My eyes would seal shut and I'd scream, and my mom would know what the problem was and run over and give me eyedrops and that'd repeat every three seconds for what felt like forever.

Actually, all my other dreams I can remember back then were really repetitive. And I remember talking to my friend about how repetitive all my dreams were and he agreed... think all small children have short or repetitive dreams?

My first dream that I can remember clearly is when I was three.

I was in a car in the back seat, we were driving - or I thought people were driving since nobody was actually driving said car I had. However I was talking to someone [perhaps the car? It was listening to me either way] so it was pretty neat.

Eventually we started getting chased by something - so I climbed up on top of the car to see what was going on, somehow able to keep my balance on it despite it moving really fast as the bridge was going up. Eventually we jumped the bridge and we landed in the water. Only thing odd about landing in the river was that the car like a hovercraft. Only it still look like a car so we went down the river on an adventure appearently talking to each other -

And then I woke up. Kind of odd.

Oh, I remember many dreams from my childhood. Most of them involved me growing wings or webbed feet/hands. I also remember I had many nightmares in which I simply fell through the floor, or falling from a high place. The content varied mildly, but in the core, they were all the same.

The oldest dream I can remember is a nightmare about chopping up my big sister with an axe.. Well, before you think "Oh my god you sick fu*k", while it is kind of sick, it was also dreamt very cartoonishly. She ended up like a wedge-shaped block that rocked back and forth, with her shirt pulled over her body. I think that was because when I was little, I always used to see her sitting indian-style on the floor with her shirt pulled and stretched over her knees. It always looked like she didn't have a body to me.
And no she wasn't dead or screaming in pain, she just kind of sat there like "..OK, why?"

Even if it is silly, it is a little disturbing for a kid to have a dream like that, but I used to really hate my sister. Still do.. ^_^ I must have had other dreams before that, but that's the only one I can remember. ..... *slinks away* Eee~

Edit- I killed the topic.

I think the earliest dream that I still remember occurred when I was about six. When I was a little kid I used to be scared of bigfoot from the movie Harry and the Hendersons. I guess the dream is just a testament to how inane dreams can be. It was set in a wooden shack in the middle of a desert where bigfoot had me tied up and was preparing to eat me, taunting me by laughing and juggling through the utensils he'd eat me with. When I started crying, he also broke down crying and burst out the door, running through the desert the exact way you see the Roadrunner zoom off after he taunts Wily Coyote. My dreams always seem so incredibly weird (and often stupid), but I guess that's part of what makes dreams so interesting.

There's more than one childhood dream that kinda stick with me a bit, but one that stands out is like this- I'm with my family (parents and at the time, baby sister) in a public place, like some kind of shop or whatever, and suddenly they disappear into this pink void. .

Hm... XD I remember lots of dreams from when I was really little to even my older but still single digit years.

But the clearest one I had was when i was say... 4 I believe and I was sleeping in my grandma's old house. I was running from darkness I think (I had a bad fear of it XD still sorta do...) with a whole bunch of creepy looking things who kept grabbing me. So I was screaming my head off and I kept running and running until finally one of the things caught me and pinned me down. I started shaking my head back and forth screaming "No!" over and over and i woke up XD screamng "No!" over and over shaking my head back and forth before I realized I was awake.

And that's only one of the many that stuck with me over the years.

I remember snippets here or there from earlier dreams - playing on an old playground we usually weren't allowed to go on is as far back as I can go -

The earliest complete dream I remember involved a recurring character I now call Kestrel, who at the time looked like a marshmallow with mean cartoon eyes and a cat's mouth.

I was at my grandma's house with a group of my cousins and Kestrel showed up and tried to attack me. Well, instead of most dreams where people act oblivious to him, my cousins chased him out into the yard and caught him in a pillowcase. Later we were by a campfire and had him all tied up. Someone put clown makeup on him. He sat there with this quiet angry look on his face.

Later that night we were all sleeping in my uncle's room and I heard ominous music - a sign that Kestrel was about to come through the ceiling light. I tried to wake up my cousins, but I couldn't talk. I ran as fast as I could down the stairs and found my grandpa reading the paper. I still couldn't talk, so I tried to sign to him. Kestrel came up behind us with a gun, and I woke up.

The earliest dreams I remember may or may not actually be dreams... I've got pretty vivid memories of staying at my grandma & grandpa's house when I was just an infant/toddler since my parents were still living there until we got our own place. We used to sleep up in the attic. I remember that it was kind of a vintage 60's avocado green and leaves-at-falltime orange color, staring up at the ceiling from my crib and bright sunlight coming through..

When I was still in the single digits, most of my 'dreams' were more nightmares than anything.

Most vivid dream that I remembered from childhood (that I'd forgotten until now) was being on a weird sort of pontoon boat with a glass bottom.. we were miles and miles out at sea, and you could see through the bottom of the boat. There were many vivid fishes.. it was pretty cool.
Can't remember if it had a happy ending.

I remember having Peter Pan dreams from my childhood, those were always my favorite, because they usually involved flying around with Peter Pan lol. He's my favorite Literary & Disney character of all time. Those dreams were always a lot of fun and adventurous. In fact, I had a great Peter Pan dream not too long ago. ^_^ I also remember having Digimon dreams lol.

Also, there was this reaccuring nightmare I used to have as a child. Well, two actually. When I visited my grandmother's house, I usually slept in the guest room. Most of the time I slept in that room at night, I would have a nightmare about the Grim Reaper, he would come up to me, raise his scythe really high, and just as it came swooping down I would jolt awake seconds before it hit my neck. It was so creepy, I still get chills thinking about it. Thankfully I don't have that dream in that room anymore lol, maybe it's because I'm older.

The other nightmare I remember having as a child was me being in my room at my old house. During the dream, I would be in bed at night, getting ready to sleep, and the whole house would be quiet as the rest of my family was sleeping. So I would get out of bed and sneak downstairs. The first floor of the house was all decorated, like it was Christmas or something. I specifically remember a giant snowman in the corner of the living room, right next to an antique grandfather clock. I would look around the living room and look at all the decorations, the sparking Christmas lights, the ornaments hanging everywhere. All of the sudden, the room would start shaking violently, like there was an earthquake going on. The decorations would start falling on the floor, smashing and breaking, it was really loud and scary! I would run up to my room as fast as I could and hide under my bed sheets. When the rumbling and shaking stopped, I would walk back downstairs to find the decorations all ruined and the snowman toppled over. I can't really remember how it ended, and it doesn't sound like a very scary dream, but it was terrifying for me. xD

I can remember a few dreams from my childhood but not necessarily when these dreams occurred. The oldest one that I can remember is from elementary school, in which my father and younger sister left me behind in a train station with a futuristic train that resembled the car from Back to the Future. Being a dumb kid and at the same time not wanting to get left behind, I jumped right on top of the train as it sped off and held on for dear life.

I remember 2 dreams I had when I was younger. You see when I was younger, and now..., I didn't really have many nightmares. (I wonder why...)
But the dreams go like this:
First dream...
I'm sitting in what appears to be an oak tree that is right in a grave yard over looking a street. The oak tree is still pretty young and has night green leaves which still has dew or rain drops on them. (I believe its either early morning or just before night fall in the dream not sure which.)
The sky is a nice redish pink color and its still a little cloudy. There is a man that walked past in a black trench coat, black umbrella, and black hat.

Second dream...
I'm laying in the back end of the same type of cars they used to transport dead people... if that made sense. (Don't know what its called.) Its raining hard and I remember just watching the rain hit the back window and how I couldn't move but didn't care.

Those dreams were right after the other. I had to have been around 2-3 when I had them. Both dreams happened to be spring time like setting and I believe my sister wasn't born yet when I had them but I'm not sure... (I was 4 when she was born but I don't remember her being around at the time of those dreams.)

I have a few, but one always has me questioning whether it happened that day in real life or not:

I was watching TV, only it was a movie in the same styling of Thief and the Cobbler in terms of characters, I believe.

It had a bikini-clad fairy princess escorted by two other men to a hermitage in a snowy area. Some time later, though, monsters came, attacked the hermitage and took the princess. The two escorters went after her, only to have gone to a reddish fortress of sorts... That's all I could remember.

I remember a dream.... maybe it was even my first one... maybe it isn't. I don't remember when it came about but I know it was before I was able to even to attend school. I was in a corridor, and my age... I think I was 5 or 4 or I could have been older in the dream. I remember walking through a labyrinth of corridors dark colored, maybe purplish , and I got to a part with stained glass. I don't remember the exact picture... was it even important? I came to a door, and it was locked, and I tried to turn back and there were bars. I wanted to go through the door, I'd pound on it, and claw on it and sob. (At the time, I was unable to work locks... for some reason they were beyond me, and whenever I locked the door on myself, it took a long time to get it open.) I remember on the other side of that door, someone told me that everything was going to be alright, if there was another way out... I said no. But they kept talking to me. Eventually I woke up.

but wanna know the weirdest part of this? XD
Many, many years later, a friend of mine from the UK, said that she had a dream the other night that she was in a church or cathedral or something like it. She had walked through the corridors until she had found a door. It was locked on the other side, and she could hear a child crying. But that's all I remember her saying. She also mention stained glass.

It seems very odd for someone to find a very old dream I had. Maybe I created a dreamscape or someone else did? If I was older, I'd think maybe the point of the dream was to be brave. If I crashed through the glass... I know I could have made it to the other side. I wish I could visit that place again. Sorry if this was extremely detailed but I'm bored and I felt like sharing it.

My oldest dream is prolly my strangest and most apocalyptic.

My dream cuts into random flashes of images: a rusty swing set with the echos of children's laughter with a sunset background; an odd spacecraft traveling at incredible speeds thru space; a news channel with the anchorman saying that Earth was to be evacuated; and finally a large council-type setting with older people talking more about leaving Earth. It also cuts to more random images, such as a large explosion and more empty places on Earth.

Ever since I was three I have had that dream, but in recent years I have seen less and less of that dream. Its kinda sad because although it seems like a frightning dream, I enjoy it. After all, I do hate Earth!

The oldest dream I can remember was like my first memory. I dreamt of seeing nothing but whiteness and blurs. Then of playing ring around the rosie with my sister around my parents and asking who they are. I don't really remember how old I was at the time but since I do remember waking up in a room with red spotted curtins in Star City, Arkansa... I've musta been around 3/4 years old I think.

Sad to say, but the oldest dream I remember was a recurring nightmare. XD; It involved my dad sitting up in bed, his head getting magnetically stuck to the ceiling, and him trying to get down. It looked exactly like their bedroom, too. He eventually got away from the ceiling, but his skin stayed. Somehow, he was this weird green/blue and black skeleton underneath with eyes. We got his skin off the ceiling, somehow, and he was lying on the couch (again, identical to how it actually was in real life), and I can't remember what happened... But later, I was running away and he was just this flying, electrically charged skeleton CHASING me. For an apple, I think it was. But he couldn't bite into it or anything. I was huddling with my mother and my little brother in a corner in what I think was the kitchen--the only thing that didn't line up with our actual kitchen. It was sort of an outdoorsy thing.

Now, I slept with my parents when I was little, and I must have been four when I first had this dream, so it was downright freaky. XD; Especially with how well everything but the kitchen lined up with how the house was set up.

I'm not quite sure why it was my dad; maybe because he wasn't home often and I didn't actually know him that well, when I was little, what with him going to work and then school from before I woke up to after I was put to bed. The last time I had the dream, I think, was when I was... eight? Which was when he finished school and was home more. I guess it was just the whole "fear of the unknown" thing.

...But electricity had freaked me out for the next ten years. XD And then I was forced to get over it by shocking myself on the light switches to our laundry room in a different house.

Well, most of my oldest dreams hadn't any visible content. Those were terrible sounds, as though I'm stuck inside some ancient, heavy, super-solid piece of metal or stone. Sounds of God forsaken world, so old and primitive that no one would dare to visit it. Another one of the oldest is arc-entrance (like those we have here in Odessa), with big metal gates separating me and my parents. A was alone, accidently locked inside the dark yard, near the arc-entrance. It was dimly-lighted with one single lamp, and complete darkness was staying opposite to me, filling the yard. Somebody was calling me in, to step into blackness itself. But I never was listening to the voice, trying to unlock a door built in one half of the gates. I saw this dream many-many times, back in those years. And it hadn't been leaving me until I unlocked the door.

The oldest dream I can remember is one where I'm standing in a Church, following the voices of a choir. I had to sneak by hooded figures, clergymen, the works. I worked my way down the building and into catacombs straight out of France. The door ahead of me was made of a very old, heavy wood. When I reached the door where I could hear the voices clear as day, I opened the door and saw the heads of the choir held on pikes, still singing even in death. What I didn't see was the man behind me holding an axe. I ended up getting cut in half at the waist before waking up.

This is going to sound kind of sad... (In a 'pitiful sad' way.)

The first dream I remember was being chased by an evil square waffle iron with big eyes and sharp, pointed fangs in the backyard in my old house. I'd be running through the sprinkler in my bathing suit, then he'd appear and I'd be chased and wake up screaming. I had this dream from when I was about 3 'til about 6 I think.

The odd thing was, I didn't know it was a waffle iron until years later, and I had the hardest time describing the thing.

As I was what? three? four? when this dream happened, it makes almost no sense, but this purple-skinned guy with yellow teeth had a small camera looking thing, but he was also my godfather somehow....( which makes no sense, since he's the last person who would do anything evil..) Anyway, he was going to turn my dad into another evil d00d, and I had to try to stop him, even though it was prophetically inevitable somehow. Anyway, I was Superman, so I went and tried to stop him, so I get there and the evil guy says "Hi, (insert my real name here), I'm going to turn your dad into a bad guy, an you can't stop me!" I remember an old dream I had back when I was six. My four year old brother somehow managed to summon a demonic vampire ghost creature, and my parents were so proud. So they sat there, clapping and cheering while the creature slowly advanced on me. Then my brother started laughing maniacally and yelling "Live! Live my monster!". I was eaten, then I woke up.

I remember a dream I had many years ago as my oldest. In it I was another person (not sure who) and was watching over a little girl in a field like a park or something. There was a house nearby and were were just near it and a pond/small lake. Then as I took my eyes off the girl she slipped in the pond and as I grabbed her she sank into it and I couldn't hold on till she disappeared underneath it. I felt worried and didn't know what to do but I reached in the water and that's all I remember. It wasn't much of a nightmare but it felt weird and somehow I thought of the girl as a relative even though I didn't know her.
