I choose Dpad, I get A's on everything, I can seem to do smaller and faster loops on it too. I dislike the Analog controller.

I vote D-Pad because...well, it's the only controller I've ever used for NiD *fail* I'd like to take a whirl on the analog one though, just to feel the difference.

Analog, because it spares my poor thumbs T_T

That would also be a good reason to try the analog controller. My hands kill after two levels (and I'm sure the controller is feeling the pain also).

Analog without question. Especially since the Saturn analog is one of the nicest I've ever used... such a large maximum radius...
For the game, I've never really played it super seriously... I just like messing around for the most part, so I can't judge if it's actually better or not, however, as Josse pointed out... I like my thumbs intact for most things.

Analog, I couldn't play without it. Same reason, it saves my thumb. But it still hurts after 4 mares now. {I usualy only play Twin Seeds.}
It also offers better control, but my thumb slips off sometimes.

Analog, yo. Smooth moves. That thing was literally made for NiGHTS. Haven't much bothered trying to play it with the D-Pad.

Analog hands down. Tried it once using the d-pad and it killed my thumb. lol Not to mention it's totally smooth like Viperxmns said. ^^

Analog, without question. The D-Pad controller is more precise, but it lacks any kind of fluidity whatsoever. The analog stick is easier to work with, hurts less, and generally makes things more fun (for me, at least).

...Eh, I think I may have accidentally voted for D-Pad. Oops.

Analog. ALL THE TIME. I've gotten an A on every mare in the game thanks to old Anna.
I only use the D-Pad for 2 Player.

Bleh. Who all can raise their hand saying they can get A's nearly every time with the ol' D-Pad? *raises hand* come on, you proud and few.

AHAHAHA- no.

I fail to get anything higher than a C rank due to me flying around with the aim and grace of a drunken spoon.

I fail so hard at this game XDD But dammit, it's so fun to try all the time (and then I watch those link attack vids with ENVY).

Analog for me. I can work with the D-pad but it's much harder.

Now my friend Kii-chan on the other hand... XD She's the only person who can kick my butt on two player using the D-pad while I'm on the analog. And she's never played the game as much as I have!

I've always used a D-pad...one, because I dont have an analog pad, and two, the D-pad's always served me well. It's no good for the competitive level that Scoreattack's at now...I can only boast about getting to 700k on Frozen Bell, and now everyone's blown that away with their fancy analog pads and stunts, haha. =D But the D-pad pioneered the way. Sorta.

I bought the game on the internet without the anolog pad, so now I don't have one. Its hard to find an anolog pad without the NiGHTS game. And when I do find it, its pretty expensive. I think I will save my money and just stick with what I have. Maybe I can be more pricise with the D-Pad.

I have also heard that several people with the D-Pad have made really good scores and there are some things the D-Pad helps with.

Actually, I saw a seperate analog controller on eBay, and it was only $10.

Analogue for the feeling of freedom, D-pad for Twin Seeds cuz I can't loop those damned chips near the start with the analogue lol. D-pad does get tighter paraloops but I like playin with the analogue and have got some pretty decent scores with it.

I'd have to go with analogue. D-pad just feels too clunky for a game like NiGHTS... I think it's just because the controls with D-pad aren't quite as fluid-feeling... though that is just personal opinion.

Analogue all the way. I originally started with the D-pad as I waited to get the 3d controller, and man my thumbs got sore quick. The analogue is so fluid and smooth, perfectly designed for NiGHTS. It did take a while to get used to, as it is quite different when compared to other controllers (ps2, gcn), but now I use it all the time. I like the L and R buttons better on it too.

Sadly I was one of the D-pad possy back in the day :P; If I could i would go back in time slap my past self and switch the controller over to analouge to show how much better it was! I mean growing up addicted to the Mega Drive and being used to trusty up,down, left, right just felt so natural.

Summary - I'm a shamed D-padder T_T

I preferred the analog...however, as of recently, I have had to depend of the standard d-pad controller since my original NiGHTS pad broke.

*off-topic*: Oh, and having a Japanese Saturn, I prefer the gray over the white...just preference. (although, a Hitachi-Saturn would be good in any color!)

Why do some people have a difficult time getting A-ranks at all? it took me like 2 months to get all A-ranks, and after my memory died I got them all in 3 days. I rarely get under an A now a days, even when screwing around.

I don't like any of them.
I have always played NiGHTS into Dreams using a Virtua Stick controller. It offers SO much more control than any of the regular controller options.
Unfortunately that option is unavailable on the Wii, thus my performance in Journey of Dreams isn't nearly half as good as when I play the original game.
I still own an analogue controller, and have only used it a few times.
