New trailer, level http://uk.gamespot.c...s/video/6281388

In other news apparently I missed a Wisp plush giveaway at NYCC.. as well as a Sega shirt reward for S ranks (though I got an A when I played).. they ran out by the time I got there.

I'm telling you, people. Sonic Colours was the game you never knew you needed. It's a great reason to still own a Nintendo Wii. Trust me. It's seriously brilliant.

With Sonic 4 i had my reserves and everything, and even that turned out pretty enjoyable for me. But THIS game, i'm telling you, it's brilliant and the biggest step in the right direction Sonic has had since his last great game.

And the article is actually right, one thing this game does not do is take itself WAY too seriously. That's one thing that was always criticized about previous Sonic Games, they made them too serious and when they tried to add humor it ended up feeling forced. But Sonic Colours does humor in a really "i'll mock fun at myself" way, and does it proudly too.

I just wish this was going multiplatform, i really do. This game needs achievements.

I kinda wish I still had a Wii so I could play this. It looks really really nice. Sonic Team have really got their act together after Unleashed.

I really want a 360 port :D

OH! Check out the music in this video! http://www.youtube.c...layer_embedded#!

I swear to god, I can hear Gloom of the N.H.C in this when it gets funky! Honestly, anyone else hear it?

I played the game a few weeks/months ago and got to see a bit of this level. I said the same thing when it started, it has a very NiGHTSy feel to it. Other area's of the game do have a certain NiGHTS feel to it too, if very subtly. I don't think Sonic Team meant for it to have it so it's probably just us as NiGHTS fans playing the game and seeing it from our perspective. But, yeah, Wisp Planet music has the best music i've heard so far and i do also think it's got some NiGHTS overtones in there.

Purple Wisp revealed http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded

Also there's a rumor Super Sonic might be playable in stages, and that Nintendo Power has given the game a 9.

Also you can use Miis in multiplayer.
correction: apparently you can put your Mii's head onto Sonic's body? 0.o

It looks like I won't be able to pay off that preorder so I may as well get my $5 back. I planned on having a job by now but whatever. I'll pick up this sweet game eventually.

Eight? Coming in from upstate should only be about four or five hours, max (if that is what you meant) X3

Guess I've tended to travel closer to the eastern side of the state, never been to Buffalo. Makes all the difference if you have to travel laterally as well,, I guess..

Ah well anyway I'll be goin' to the Sonic Colors party.

I expected Sonic to sound younger but surprisingly enough, I wasn't turned off by his new voice. Something inside me just accepted it. Tails finally sounds like a boy too which is a very good thing.

The Michael Jackson homage makes me smile so much! When i first saw it a few months ago i wanted to tell everybody about it but of course i couldn't. It's like SEGA tipping the hat to MJ, because everybody just KNOWS he did the music for Sonic 3, lol.

Anyways, regarding Sonic's voice, i'm totally for it. I think it's showing Sonic a little more matured than the cheesy kinda voice he had been using for a while. This one sounds cool without sounding kiddy-cool, if you know what i mean.

Everyone will get used to it after a while, just like they got used to his previous voice actors who i couldn't stand, lol!

It's kind of weird to hear Sonic with a deep voice, AFAIK all his voice actors before now have used pretty high voices. But could be pretty cool, once I'm used to it! A deeper voice can really make it easier to take Sonic seriously as a character.

I like Sonic's voice. It isn't a huge change, but fr some reason it makes him sound more hero-y? I'm sad that Tails' voice, while an improvement, still has that weird verbal tic. It isn't quite nasal, but it's still odd.

I was not amused but Sonic's voice at first but that is just me not being used to it. Kinda like how I really can't stand being forced to play these games in English now and not Japanese.

Well, lets see how the rest plays out. I wish the best of luck to our new voice of Sonic. So far he isn't doing too bad.

I can't WAIT for this game to come out *v* There are some parts to it that will blow your mind and make you double check the console you're playing it on. It's kinda annoying actually because this game on the Wii shows how much can be done with a lot of effort unlike JoD :/

Yeah, wow! Imagine that, if SEGA gave JoD as much effort as they have done Sonic Colours. There's probably an alternate universe out there with such a thing.

Like Unleashed and most other Sonic games, Colors has a JP track, which I may still end up using.. the JP cast is like 'home'.. it's also fun hearing the JP announcer say "Lay-zah!".. though "Du-reell" sounds a bit awkward.

Sonic sounding older though? On purpose- http://www.sonicstad...comment-page-1/

Depending on platforms depends on if you get the track usually. I played Unreleased on the Wii sadly, and it did not have the tracks. Kinda like only the PS2 version of Shadow the Hedgehog had both the JP audio AND subtitles. (Thank god for Doom's voice actor or I would have probably suffered a mental breakdown from playing that version of the game). So there is no telling what is to happen, and when Sega will just stop bothering with it all together.

Though if all it means is having a PS3 or Xbox to cover that issue, I've got that covered...NOW! *headdesk at getting Unleashed for the Wii before a freaking PS3*

Regardless if it is or isn't there, I am glad they are trying out new voice actors in hopes of actually making the English audio something decent to listen to.

As for JOD, yes I really do wish they had spent more time at perfecting something as basic as the controls. However, I guess they had other issues considering the line of Sonic games we had during that time, and their attention was too focused on that. Which I can't fully blame them. It is kinda sad if your cash cow and mascot got the shaft overall gameplay wise.

*Sigh* Great. Thank you. Now you have me wanting a new NiGHTS game.

Unleashed on the Wii has no voice selection? 0.o weird.. at least we've heard Colors's JP track, so hopefully it's not stupidly non-selectable in the domestic release.

Sega's giving away those pre-order hats to early birds at the party tomorrow. Man, I hope I can get there at an early enough but still reasonable time. There'll also be a live performace of the main theme by Cash Cash.

REPORT-
Got a hat and gloves, plus they gave out 5 dollar coupons redeemable only at Gamestop at Rockefeller Center though. Played the DS demo and then the Wii demo multiple times. The band Cash Cash played their whole album, I guess, and Sonic was hobbling around too. I attempted to ice skate for a while (for free). I have some pictures on my phone I should post, of the giant posters. And of course there were also the Sega of America community admins walking around.

Kamui came in her NiGHTS cosplay (I have a picture with her, we're dualizing), and another dude was cosplaying Adam from Streets of Rage, to some extent. My friend kurosen came too, he helped Kamui try to ice skate.

Idea: Maybe whoever gets/has the hat should ceremoniously strap it on the first time they boot up Colors : D

Question is do I trek to Rockefeller to use the $5 coupon next week.. subway fare makes the discount only a dollar, lol. But picking the game up in person would be more exciting than buying it from Amazon or something.

I must admit, after seeing the reveiws for this game and that aforementioned PR stunt, I was starting to wonder if this was really SEGA or just some weird dream.

It was after Sonic Unleashed that It finally got pounded into my young mind that 3D Sonic diden't have a bright future. So I didn't keep tabs on this game, then a few mounths later HO SHIZ JUST GOT REAL!!

I may live in America, But I'm still wondering why in the heck it's going to take them AN ENTIRE MONTH to bring it to England...
