I dunno if I can post in this topic, but I'm kinda annoyed that I live in Canada and can't come see the event.

But I hope the Purge cosplayer comes back, that guy was awesome.

You know what? Those who were thinking of coming to this convention but didn't should have come. I can not tell you how AWESOME it was to be there. Anime conventions ain't got nothing on Summer Of Sonic, i swear down.

Next year, i strongly request all you NiGHTS fans who are somewhat interested to start saving up money now and come over for this thing. I know some of you said you'd come and couldn't because it was expensive but i've just come back from this years SoS and i can't begin to tell you how fantastic this convention has become. You couldn't explain the atmosphere in the place, it just reaches unbelievable levels of awesome.

So, i truly strongly request if you were ever thinking of coming over to the UK for Summer Of Sonic then start saving for next years convention. It's gonna be Sonic's 20th birthday, as well as NiGHTS 15th so no doubt i'll be sneaking something NiGHTS related into next years con, haha! XD

You will NOT be dissapointed. Save money starting NOW and you'll have enough to come. If your parents are looking for a family holiday next year tell them London.

Summer of Sonic 2011 will be held on June 26th, three days after Sonic's 20th Birthday. You will NOT want to miss this, trust me.

Be there.

L-leave my country? Oh man. This would be a challenge for someone like me who wants to go places but is pretty shy and nervous. Still, this convention is tempting but I'd also like to see what the Trocedero(sp?) is like.

Oh, the Trocadero in London? The old Sega World place? It's just a massive arcade now, all the SEGA related stuff has gone, sadly. They took that stuff down years ago.

But in regards to SoS, if you've ever been a Sonic fan in your life, at any point at all, even if you ain't and you've been a NiGHTS fan instead, you have to come to this con. Seeeeriously. I can't believe you guys missed out this years con. The only bad thing about is was there was no air-con working properly and they're probably choosing a different venue next year anyway, the convention itself was beyond fantastic.

And let me tell you, whether you like Crush 40 or not, the private show they gave us ROCKED! And i'm a rapping sorta bloke, but hell i was jumping and waving my arms like a loon with everyone else. The vibe in that room was just awesome. Especially when "Open Your Heart" came on. The build up they gave got the crowd going nuts, it was SOOOO good. I can't wait to see them again next year.
Johnny is hilarious, he loved the way we were all reacting to the music. Me and TRiP got to speak with Jun Senoue himself. It was so surreal and awesome.

Here's when they were about to start playing Open Your Heart, i found this on youtube and the sound ain't that great but it's an idea of what the atmosphere was like. I think a better video may appear soon. Open Your Heart was a massive moment for a lot of people in the concert. - Crush 40 Live - Open Your Heart

Indeed, apart from dying from the heat (being in my costume was bad enough, I envy Tavington's bravery with that Sally one!), it was absolutely amazing.

I loved seeing many more international fans too this year, I ended up chatting to one of the C40 fanclub as we were in the Colours queue (more like a rabble), and even though these guys were mostly there for them, they were all really excited for the games too XD

The amount of people that will just wander around and talk to you (including one REALLY enthusiastic Shadow fangirl, who was cute and shy when she wasn't being OMG SCREAMING LOUD) is wonderful. And quite frankly, Sonic fans together in one room is a lot more bearable than the internet, everyone's really polite and nice to eachother :)

It is well worth coming, and I KNOW next year's is going to be epic. Though I'm not expecting it to be free, it'll be worth it!

Incidentally, if anyone went and got photos of my cosplay (the fluffy Blaze with white sleeves, not the short one with the far better jewel XD) do let me know :)

Actually, that's something that Fen mentioned there that i would like to echo. People are nice. And they don't shun you if you don't understand a joke or something, though if you're from this SEGA neck of the woods then i'm pretty sure you'll lol whenever Pingas gets mentioned, haha! XD

Seriously, last year i was bit reserved but this year i realised there was no need to be. Everyone there is there for pretty much the same thing, we're all on a level, unlike Anime cons where everyones there but has different Anime's they're interested in. It's just a great crowd to be in, believe me.

Speaking of great crowd, Crush 40 ended with them playing Live And Learn from Sonic Adventure 2 and it was just as awesome as the Open Your Heart tune they did. Especially when everyone shouted the "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!" part. Seriously, forget football/soccer chants. Just get a bunch of SEGA fans into a venue and they will level the house down, haha!

Oooohhh wish I could've been there. Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be able to attend any other SoS at this point. Friggin' economy... But it's always a joy to see the videos of it on youtube. ^^

That...that was awesome. I'm sitting in front of the computer and I still want to scream my lungs out just for the hell of it. XP Pffffft UNLEASH THE INNER FANGIRL! lol That is the sort of concert I've always wanted to attend. *_* Informal, fun, interactive. Dang, SoS just seems to get better every year.

Perhaps... Perhaps one day I can earn enough cash to drag a friend and myself down there.

And Live and Learn - holy befffffffoooshal. O_O Inner fangirl screaming to join in.

Edit: Meep! Photos! Yes!

Had a truly awesome time got to play both Colours and sonic 4 and they both did not dissapoint and Crush 40 were fantastic sadly however i did not get anything signed by them  another thing in regret is not saying hi to both TRiPPY and DiGi I've always been quite shy when trying to introduce myself to new people so i feel quite bad not being able to chat and say what a great job you two are doing with the site and NID15.com.

Still had a wonderful time and wondering what SEGA will do to try and top this one?

Cons/Expos/SoS = inner fangirl unleashed = urge to hug people (I have a mental list...) = awkward photos taken

The only way of any of that ever happening is if somebody pays for my ticket. -_- Dang it... (I refuse to be such a burden.)

Indeed, i hope many others from this forum will also be attending. There will be reasons too.

There's no harm in asking someone for a holiday to London during which time the con lands on. Have a chat with family members, see if you can arrange something.

That last statement goes for anyone who really can't afford to come by themselves, you really won't wanna miss next years one.

Should probably be more awake when responding, but oh well.

...Actually, looking at what I wrote, I'll just tag it with spoilers. It's just blah-diddy-blah-blah stuff.

Spoiler

I'd frickin' love to go to SoS next year...or the year after. *pushes back inner fangirlism*

Lol, i see.

Well, at the end of the day all i am really requesting is that people try and find a way to make it over here. Don't put yourselves in bad situations of course, real life is more important than any convention.

But all i am suggesting is if there is a route for people to take to make it over here for next year then strongly consider taking it.
