I just wanted to make a new topic since the other ones are quite old now.

Right, Christmas has come and gone, like we said - NiGHTS is not a playable character on the disc in ASR. A lot of fans expected NiGHTS would be unveiled as a Christmas trailer suprise, but no, reason being is because he's not on the roster. Perhaps some of the doubters will begin to trust us a little more now rather than just hoping and ending up dissapointed in the end.

This isn't us admin trying to look cool by proving people wrong, this is just our genuine effort to get NiGHTS in the game as DLC.
I really really hope we've caused a difference or that SEGA will have listened to us.

There's a couple of months left till ASR is released. I don't think getting DLC of NiGHTS is a lost cause at all. I think we can still get playable NiGHTS. You've all been great so far but we have to keep asking and making sure that SEGA knows NiGHTS is wanted.

Email SEGA, write paper letters to SEGA, write journals, tell your friends, join our Facebook campaign, use the twitter tag #DontForgetNiGHTS. Keep it up until we get a result!

My PC is broken, it's a day after Christmas and I'm about to go on vacation, but I'm still doing my personal best so you #DontForgetNiGHTS. You should too. If we get what we want in the end you'll be able to say you helped save NiGHTS. And what better present is there than that?

Well TRiPPY, the doubters have run out of excuses. They have to believe you now.

Doubters could find any excuse under the sun. :) we should remain hopeful just in case something good happens.

Well I've done just about all the things TRiPPY mentioned. Now I'm just bringing up NiGHTS a lot online and just remaining hopeful for the best.

I think we need more content for the FaceBook page, to be honest. The SEGA community teams must certainly pass through there, it's kinda hard to avoid it. And that page needs more content, like art in support of the campaign, videos (where are they, people?) ...just anything, really. Stuff in support to show we're still making a noise.

They're really stubborn. Even though naturally NiGHTS is not confirmed until we see him, they simply can't believe that he wouldn't be playable in this game. We're being more realistic about this than they are, and we're the NiGHTS fans.

At lest we are doing something to make our voices heard. Not only that if sega trys this stunt again. We could easily spring into action.

The doubters are pretty much looking for anything now. Thinking tree ornaments are Ideya? Gimme a break.

*facepalms* it's true. Aren't we the ones supposed to be looking everywhere for signs of NiGHTS? How much of a fact must it be to stop us dead in our tracks from still hoping? Well, look at it this way: we trust the sources of DiGi and TRiPPY, we trust them themselves, and it's supremely funny how much others are looking for NiGHTS-signs to get us to shut up or prove us wrong. le-sigh...

Even when the game comes out, they'll still be looking for NiGHTS. Even if they hack their game/wii to death.

Do you think they just want us to be wrong, or that they actually want NiGHTS to be in?

I think they feel like NiGHTS should be in the game, it's not like they have something against us. They simply won't trust that we're right. They're optimistic in thinking Sega is just 'hiding' him for now, and that since we're not Sega, again, they won't trust us.

I really hope people wouldn't want NiGHTS in there just for us to stop talking about it. However, I wouldn't put it past some of them to feel that way, unfortunately. In the end, they want NiGHTS in there for SOME reason, which is more-than-enough to help the cause we're going for. So right now, it's actually helping us regardless of the reason they want to see NiGHTS in there so much. We NiGHTS-fans basically end up furthering the cause just because they talk about it, and more talk is key to showing Sega the amount of life and viable usage left in NiGHTS. If people expect NiGHTS to be in there and isn't, Sega see's that NiGHTS still has a somewhat-wide appeal.

Anyways, back onto the topic, it's now a full three days after Christmas. No word from Sega about a follow-up announcing NiGHTS? Didn't think so  Let's see how many pick up the longshot of the ornaments being idea. It's a huge leap from seeing ornaments that look vaguely like Ideya to saying "OMGzzzz NiGHTS IS IN IT!!111", and I think more people are starting to sense something amiss. There's no other holidays significant to NiGHTS releases between now and the supposed launch date, so Sega wouldn't be holding out for a specific date now to reveal NiGHTS in the game.

Just remember not to gloat if you say "told you so" at the end of this. We must be respectful at all times, as we have been thus-far. And there's still the chance for DLC, so the fight isn't over yet. No, it's not over by a long shot.

I love how we, the NiGHTS fanbase, sould be the ones looking at every possible detail to see NiGHTS, but no- it's everyone else.

Do we still have time after the release to get NiGHTS DLC or is there a date for that as well?

DLC is a tricky matter. Burnout Paradise has been doing a steady stream of internally developed DLC for years after the game's release. With the All-Stars Racing, however, I feel as though the window for getting names on the list would be much smaller. No doubt Sega isn't thinking this game won't have the lasting appeal that Burnout Paradise might, if just for the fact that to keep a developer making DLC for a game does cost money and doesn't offer as many significant one-time sales as new games in a series would generate. However, DLC is the essential of nickel-and-diming the players, so hopefully there will be many ideas Sega would want to implement if they're blindly grabbing for cash.

Short story: when a game is released, usually most, if not all, of the DLC is either set, already being developed, or in the planning stages.

Quick Edit: I'm in no way an authority on the matter, since I'm not a developer. But at least that'st the jist I get of it from experiencing it on the gamer end for years.

That how it works. Thanks for telling me Level99.

I must confess, the trailer made me think of NiGHTS in the opening sparklies and the ending baubles. But I didn't expect an announcement - all I could say was "What a horrible tease!" XD And days later, we still have no announcement. Surprise surprise? Naaaaah.

At my hopelessly optimistic best, the most I could say would be that their choice of ideya-like baubles might maybe kinda sorta hopefully mean that Sega's nodding at us and saying "We know you're out there." But given the situation as a whole, I would think that's pretty darned unlikely. ^^;

I say we have a chance still! Let's keep it up!

OK, I'll admit when I saw that trailer, I also was thinking it was pretty NiGHTS-y, but then I realized, "Hey, Christmas seems like a very NiGHTS-y time, so they could be teasing us and the others without even noticing!"
